Uniting Vampires: (Vampiress Reigning - Part 1)

Rate this book
ALMOST HUMAN - The Third Trilogy
Novella #1 UNITING VAMPIRES (Vampiress Reigning - Part 1)
Fulfilling her destiny as the divinely appointed queen of the vampires is turning out to be a lot more work than Alyson had in mind...
She’s finally gotten her blood lust under control (mostly), talked her vampiress friend Sindy into behaving herself (mostly) and has managed to loosen up her husband just enough to let her have some fun, but being the all-powerful leader of the vampires is a position of politics with little room for playtime. Of course, Allie was never one to follow all the rules.
Visiting her human friends Ben and Felicity makes a nice excuse to shirk her responsibilities now and then, and if she doesn’t pull her mentor Cain out of his sulking, heartbroken shell, who will? The perks of being queen are pretty cool, but a free spirited vampiress with powers beyond belief and an itch for fun has little patience for unraveling court intrigue in the interest of uniting vampires...

ALMOST HUMAN - The Third Series
This paranormal fantasy follows a beloved ensemble cast of vampires and humans as they navigate intricacies of love, friendship, shifting shape, shifting allegiances and using paranormal powers of persuasion to unite vampires for the good of mankind...if they can manage to survive.

*This series continues the story of all of the characters from ALMOST HUMAN - The First & Second Series, but can be read independently on its own (although it does contain spoilers of the first series for those who haven't read them.

Just like a vampires hunger for blood, you will finish this novella hungry for more! What a fabulous start to this new three part storyline. The novella reads as a companion/extension of Melanie’s Almost Human series with character tie ins and a continuing storyline. The Uniting Vampires novella part one can be read without being familiar with the ongoing Almost Human series. However, having the background storyline and knowledge of the characters will dramatically increase your reading enjoyment!
The story begins with the change in Coven Master leadership from the tyrannical Arif to The United One Alyson. This leaves everyone to find their place in this new order. We have already met most of this cast of characters but we are allowed an even greater insight into their lives. These characters now feel like old friends and acquaintances that we choose to spend time with and have around us while continuing to learn more about them.
The storyline will captivate you just like Alyson’s vampiric eyes. There is more than enough content to keep you sated, yet you will be left with an undeniable hunger for more. You will not be disappointed as you succumb to the enthrall of Melanie’s Almost Human world. I highly recommend this novella as well as all work by Melanie Nowak. Her books have been awarded top honors and accolades for a reason. They are that amazing!

I love this series, I loved the first 2 "books" in the series and I was excited to see where this story goes.  Unlike the Second book (or series), where apart from a few spoilers if you wanted to go back and read the earlier books, I don't personally feel that this works as a jumping off point despite what the synopsis says.  As a continuation as the series though, it is a great read.  I love how the characters are expanding and how things are setting up for what I feel will be very interesting conflicts down the line.

As the first of a series of Novella's this has the expected "non end" that I expected and just makes me even more anxious to get my hands on the next installment.   For those that haven't read any of Melanie Nowak's books before I personally suggest going back to the beginning and starting from there.  Those that are already fans will love where the story is heading!

Must Read! Almost Human is a Fantastic Series!

I absolutely loved this!  I was drawn into this masterpiece of writing from the very first page! The discussion that Cain, Mattie and Allie have with Felicity and Ben about the possible side affects of saving Felicity were unexpected and yet exciting. The details about the surroundings as well as emotional anguish and yearning are incredible.Allie’s arrogance about her abilities leaves her vulnerable to attack and possibly destroying everything they have sacrificed.  This is a must read for the fans of the Almost Human series. Anxiously awaiting the next installment!!!!

Addictive!

First, Nowak's vampire/vampiress stories are completely addictive. She has two series Almost Human 1 & 2, and now, Almost Human 3. Filled with intense living as almost human, and full fledge vampires, the story starts out with seeking divinity and destiny. The same characters are here in the story, both human and vampires, and the friendships and bonds that link them all. Alyson is the queen of the vampires, but faces challenges just like anyone else. Uniting Vampires is a spell-bounding, addictive vampiric story that lends to being a saga, rather than a series.

Reading one of Melanie's stories is like sitting down with an old friend and this novella certainlly doesn't disappoint.

It's been a while since we last met up the characters but we are thrown straight back into it and giving an inkling of where this series will go next. Will the United One live up to her calling are Cain and Felicity destined to be together? I can't wait to find out.

Once again the characters are well drawn out and I really enjoy the vampire mythology she has created. Hopefully we don't have to wait to long for the next one.

So much goodness going on in this book!!! I am a huge fan of these series and this author has done it again with this new release! I love all the characters, old and new, and the storyline flows so well and just perfect. Yes it frustrates me because I want things my way but I still wouldn't change a thing! Mrs. Nowak knows what she is writing and how to keep you hooked and salivating for more. Some characters ended up growing on me and others have my heart. I can't wait to read the next part of this captivating series. Another Amazing book well done Mrs. Nowak!!

Information Unveiled and action continues

Loved reading about the United One and her plans for the future of all vampires. Love and empathy are woven throughout with another great fight scene. Evidently a new group has emerged, can't wait to see what happens.

I was very excited to see that the next installment of the Almost Human series was coming out soon so of course I had to pre-order it. The author has created characters that feel like friends. She writes in a way that makes you feel as they are real and you are invested in their future. It's easy to read because you always want to know what is happening next.

This novella picks up after Arif is defeated. I really enjoyed the opening sequence with Cain and Felicity. It took me back to their relationship in the first book and really had me rooting for Cain. I really want Felicity and Cain together. After that, Allie is finding out what it is like to be in charge and what responsibilities she has because of her power. Towards the end of the book, the action really picks up fast. I found myself breezing through these pages to find out what happens. This novella leaves you wanting more(in a good way). I'm happy that there will be more to the story and look forward to the next release. I absolutely recommend this novella and the rest of the Almost Human series. It's one of my favorites!!

This book was amazing. Melanie Nowak has allowed her caracters to grow and evolve. It is great to see a little more into cains past. Alison’s powers are evolving to more than I could have imagined. The story line continues to grow and she allows insight into all the main character. If you haven’t started the “Almost Human” series then I would start it now either in the six novels or as the novellas just so you can get to this novella. It is brilliant. I can’t wait till the next novella comes out...

"The description of Uniting Vampire" by Melanie Nowak has created a world that blends danger, romance, and political tension in such an intriguing way.
I love how the story hints at deeper conflicts between vampires and humans, while also introducing personal struggles like Cain’s leadership role and Felicity’s emotional crossroads.
The idea of ancient powers stirring and uneasy alliances forming sets the stage for a thrilling ride. It’s clear this isn’t just a typical vampire tale there’s a sense of maturity and depth that promises twists, suspense, and emotional stakes.

This is a start to something that is going to go down. If it wasn’t going down before; it’s definitely going to go down as we read more and more of this series. Allie is such a kick ass character especially in her fight with Cat and Jin the Asian Vampires. There is always going to be someone who wants to test The United One. Allie is my Tinkerbell Vampire and she don’t play. Definitely worth the read and I can’t wait to read more.

Only problem is it was too short! There is no substance, to much time on irrelevant emotions and made the plot and action secondary. Half of this book is a recap, maybe it's me but way to much details, I don't think we need to be reminded how everyone came to be.
