Of all the things Skye Williams ever thought she’d be, a witch wasn’t one of them. Now her power has been unleashed, she must prepare for a war that’s been brewing for centuries. Easier said than done when she doesn’t have a clue what she’s doing, and keeping it a secret isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, either. She can’t light a candle to save herself, her new employee may or may not be a fae spy, things are awkward with her new shapeshifter boyfriend, Boone, the entire village is planning their spring wedding…then her ex, Alex, shows up out of the blue. He wants her back, and he’s not prepared to let her go without a fight. Talk about complicated. The battles for magic and Skye’s heart are on, but when a prophecy is delivered from an unlikely source, things get worse. Much worse. Someone’s trying to break the curse that’s keeping the greatest evil Ireland’s ever seen—the witch Carman—off its shores, and Skye is the key to breaking it. One thing’s for certain, whoever’s out for her blood can’t get their hands on her, or the battle is over before it’s even begun. The race to stop Carman’s return is on, and to save everyone she loves, Skye’ll do anything. And when she says anything, she means anything.

I purchased this book with the hopes that it would be better than the first, and I was somewhat disappointed. Didn't seem like the world in this book was complex enough to keep me interested. Every so often, I would hope things would start to ramp up a little, but this story just lacked momentum for me. I also LOVE when chapters end with the right amount of suspense, and that was also something this story lacked. Sadly, it was just a little too bland for my taste.
This is part 2 of a trilogy and it does a good job of furthering the plot and letting you get to know more about the characters and hints of the upcoming confrontation with Carmen. There could have been a better editor. Mostly minor things but someone needs to tell the author that a sheik is an Arabic ruler of his tribe or family. The word she was looking for is chic. Boho chic not boho sheik. Other than that major cringe, the story flows really well. Time to read book 3!
I read the first book of this series as something to fill in as I'd just finished the "of cats and dragons" series, not really expecting how much it would get under my skin. Although magic is involved, witches, shapeshifters, and leprechauns, you could imagine it in some small village in Ireland, Scotland or Wales with similar mythologies. I'm off to buy the next one!!!
I loved this entire series. I enjoy fantasy so truly appreciated the world building on this small irish town. I always enjoy a book that has both humour and angst and this one had the right amount of both. I caught myself laughing out loud even though Boone and Skye had their problems when Alex came to town. It was also nice to see more of Boone's vulnerable side.
Crescent Prophecy is a great second book in the Crescent Witch Chronicles series. Skye learns more about witchcraft as well as her powers. The characters and their interactions with Skye continue to grow and make you want to see and read more about them. And we learn more about the darkness in Skye's paranormal world. A good read!
She's digging deeper and coming up with things that most want to leave buried. At the same time, she's coming into her heritage and getting stronger. But just when it seems that it won't be enough, she gets a boost from beyond. This series is getting more interesting.
The more I read of this series the more I like it. From the first book to the second you learn a little more about the characters. I usually don't like that but it really works for this series. You have the major mystery and then the mystery of the characters.👍😍🎆
I really love this series, all the magic that is happening as well as the characters!!! This is the type of magical fantasy witchy story that I love. What I also love is that you don't find Skye struggling to light a fire, her magic comes instinctively.
I have found that I enjoy reading stories that are centered in Ireland. The description of the town and surrounding areas is spot on and makes me want to go visit. The story was engaging and I couldn't put the book down.
I got to know Skye & Boone a little in book 1. Now in book 2, I’m getting into the details, such as how brave and passionate Skye is about what she’s willing to do to keep her friends safe. And what really happened to her mom? And what was Boone before?! So Exciting!
Just when things calm down, you throw in a crazy fae ex and a witch with a grudge and it's a catastrophe in the naming. But Igor made clue a amazing read
Most of the book concentrated on Skye's relationship with her ex when he shows up in the village to win her back (and the girly teen fantasy of hot guys fighting over her). I just wanted the story to move on but it was chapter after chapter about this love-triangle. Was so, so, boring to read but I ploughed on hoping for more to come.
Lucy's true identity and the danger she posed was VERY quickly identified and addressed in the closing chapters of the book. No build up. Very sudden. If most of the book was about that I'd have enjoyed it more.
I enjoyed the prose once again, but the story itself was so dull and unimaginative; hence the 2 stars.
I will continue to read this series because I'm interested in finding out how the story ends. I very nearly abandoned the series whilst reading this book but it was the hint of an interesting tale towards the end that was its only saving grace.
Found it lacking - 2 stars

Another good read by Nicole Taylor. The series keeps getting better and better. Looking forward to the next installment to see how everything continues.
