If only her love life could be as simple. Zoey and Daniel Donovan were childhood sweethearts until a violent car crash took his life. Five years later, Zoey encounters Devinshea Quinn, an earthbound Faery prince who sweeps her off her feet. He could show her everything the supernatural world has to offer, but Daniel is still in her heart.

I am pleasantly surprised at the amount of humor.
Plenty of Laugh 😁 Out 😆Loud 😂 moments.

Loved all the characters & female mc is fantastic.

Areas that had a 'YA' feel 🙁.

Loaded with action.
Slow build to the intimate adult scenes.
Surprising twist & turns.
A couple of slow areas.
Some repetition (very minor).
1 or 2 editing errors.

A fun read that did not disappoint.

This bind up contains the first two books in Lexi Blake's Thieves series (Steal the Light and Steal the Day) and it's currently available to download for free on Amazon so now is the perfect time to give the series a try if you haven't already started it!

I've already read the first 5 books in this series and absolutely love it so it's definitely one I'd recommend if you're an urban fantasy fan.

Here's my review for the first book Steal the Light to give you an idea what the series is about:

Zoey is a thief who specialises in stealing arcane artefacts, as the only human on her crew she often finds herself in dangerous situations but she's usually quite good at getting out of them too, especially with the help of her vampire ex-fiancé and the witch and werewolf they work alongside. That is until the day she is tricked into signing a contract with a demon and now her very soul is at risk.

I'm fairly new to Lexi Blake's writing, I've recently been devouring her rereleases of the books she previously published under the pen name Sophie Oak and when I realised she also had an urban fantasy series (one of my favourite genres) I just had to dive in. Steal the Light was a fab start to the series and I plan to devour the rest as soon as possible.

Zoey had her heart broken when her fiancé and childhood sweetheart, Daniel, died in a car crash. She was overjoyed when he came back as a vampire but then he was dragged away by the vampire council and when he returned two years later he wasn't the man she knew and loved. Zoey still desperately loves him but Daniel keeps her at arm's length and insists that there can be no future for them other than friendship. They work together and make a good team but Daniel's heart is completely closed off from her. When they are tricked into searching for a fae artefact for a demon the job leads Zoey to faery prince Dev and for the first time she finds herself attracted to someone other than Daniel. Romance is complicated though and she really should be focused on getting the demon off her back and saving her soul.

Normally I shy away from books with even a hint of a love triangle in them, it's a trope that has been done to death in UF and it's one I'm really sick of reading about but knowing Lexi Blake's penchant for writing menage stories I'm kind of hoping that this one will have a much different outcome to most! I actually thought the triangle was handled really well here and I have a hard time deciding which of the guys I like most. There is a lot of history between Zoey and Daniel and you can feel how much she loves him, he has always been the centre of her world but the new, brooding and secretive vampire is not the Daniel she fell in love with and he refuses to let her get close to him again. Dev, on the other hand, is far less complicated. He is warm, funny and leaves Zoey in no doubt that he is attracted to her. Dev gives her the attention she has been craving for such a long time and he makes it all so easy.

We know all along that Daniel is keeping things from Zoey but I have to admit I was angry with him when the depth of his deception was revealed towards the end of the story. I know he was trying to protect her but I hate it when people keep important things hidden from their loved ones so I could understand why Zoey felt so betrayed and I wasn't at all surprised by how things played out. I'm hoping that we'll see him start to redeem himself in future books though and I'm also looking forward to learning more about Dev.

Steal the Light has great main characters, plenty of humour, lots of action and all the heat you'd expect from a Lexi Blake book so I'm definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Frickin’ loved these books. Sigh...

The first book I thought, “Oh, well I usually hate love triangles, but this one is so sweet and funny!”

Then I got to the second book and went, “FILTHY!” And “Yum” and “I want more”.

These books are fun, and funny, and suspenseful, and hot AF, and just a great time.

Onto the third, I am fully hooked.

Zoey Wharton makes it a habit to steal paranormal artifacts, ans she' got a crew that includes a vampire, a werewolf and a witch who all have their own special skills. But her knack for getting into trouble seems to be her downfall.

Book 1:
A car crash kills the love of her life, and leaves her heartbroken. Until he returns as a vampire. He might be her protector and seem cold hearted, but there's more to him than anyone knows.

Zoey and Daniel were childhood sweethearts until a violent car crash took his life and left her shattered. When Daniel returned from the grave as a vampire, his only interest in Zoey was in keeping her safely apart from the secrets of his dark world. He has vowed to protect her, but his heart seems as cold as the night he calls home.

When she contracts for a job for Lucas Halfer to steal the Light of Alhorra, her life is thrown into turmoil and her friend and love life pay the cost. While her heart longs for the love she shared with Daniel, Devinshea Quin, a faery prince becomes the rescuer she needs when she fears Daniel is lost to her. And there are secrets Dev holds that take her to heights she never realized she could go.

What is it that makes her alluring not only to the vampire world but to other paranormals? And what must she do to save her friend from Lucas Halfer without sacrificing her own life? Can she make a life now without Daniel? Dev is just a passing phase, something to do while she figures out what comes next. Or is he?

I enjoyed the conflict between Zoey, Daniel and Dev, and the storyline is a good one. It's interesting and entertaining. However, the writing threw me off a bit. The characters weren't as developed as they should have been. Many times, they were childish, more like teenagers than adults. That was probably the biggest turn off. On the other hand, there were moments that were heartbreaking and others that were exciting. And the story held my attention enough to want to know what happens next.

Book 2:
Again, Zoey heads into another situation like a bull in a china shop. She wants to rescue her friend from Lucas Halfer's clutches, and that means going to hell to do it. But one does not simply traipse in and take people back. She needs an artifact called The Revelation to get in an out with her life intact. As she works on her half-baked plan, she also has to consider her feelings not only for Daniel but the ones developing for Dev, feeling she never expected or wanted. Being the vampire king's wife has its advantages, but it also has its disadvantages. And how will she get these men to agree on more than what they need because she can't accomplish her job without them? With Daniel almost losing his life, she finds her feelings once again in a tug of war. How will she resolve the love she has for both of them? And how will she choose?

Once again, I was enthralled by the story. It is a good one. But it seems the entire paranormal world is run by adolescents trying to "one up" each other. With Zoey knowing her place in the hierarchy, I expected her to behave a bit more maturely than she did in this second book. I think because of the way Zoey was written, as a spoiled brat who had no idea what the meaning of love was but threw the word around like she did, I won't be buying the subsequent books in the series.

Spoiler Alert: There's one moment that ruined the heroine for me. Daniel and Dev were arguing as was their norm. And Zoey stuck her nose in to defend whenever she saw fit. But when Dev brought up the fact that he could give Zoey children and Daniel couldn't, my heart broke for the vampire king. And the character was written with the pain of that jab to his pride. Had it been me, I would have probably slapped Dev, given him my two cents' worth over his low blow, and walked away. I mean... what an ass, and what a cruel thing to say! But did Zoey say anything to defend her husband? No. She spent most of the book defending Dev while Daniel was doing his best to try to show her he did feel love for her. I thought she spent too much time belittling Daniel to protect Dev's feelings. Those were the moments that made me sick. Had I not liked the story so much, I would have given it one star just for the childishness of the main character. I love a good strong female lead, but I thought Zoey needed a spanking and to be sent to her room without any privileges. If she's going to act childish, she should be punished like a child.

Steal the Light & Steal the Day are in the Book of Thieves a boxed set. First off Lexi Blake you had me crying at your Foreward. I am so happy that all turned out well in the end.

Lexi Blake creates a supernatural world of Fae, shape shifters such as Witches, Vampires and Werewolves. So, I know that a supernatural world isn’t a new theme but, the way this story is written is an original story. I have never read anything like this book. Zoey Wharton is a human thief, an exceptional thief and the front-man that accepts the jobs. She is also a companion and you will need to read this book to find out what a companion is. She works along with vampires, werewolves and the Fae. Daniel Donovan was a human and Zoey’s childhood sweetheart. Daniel died in a car crash 5 years earlier. He returns to Zoey as a vampire. He tries to protect Zoey from all the darkness in his world.

Another key character is Dev (Devinshea Quinn) he is a Faery Prince. Zoey ends up loving 2 men.
Be wary, every time they mention “I don’t trust this. It feels bad.” It really is bad!

Steal the Day is Book 2 & they are going to Hell to steal Sarah back from the demon.

If you love Fantasy Romances then this is a must read! I could not put this book down! I loved this world that Lexi Blake created.

I was so excited to see that there is more to this series. Steal the Moon is next and I just bought it on Audible. I can’t wait to listen to this book!

I am going to give Thieves: Books 1 & 2 5 + supernatural stars…..

Steal The Light
Zoey Wharton, Daniel Donovan the vampire, Neil the werewolf, Dev the Faery Prince, Sarah the witchZoey Wharton and her rag tag team of thieves; Daniel the vampire, Neil the werewolf, Dev the Faery Prince, Sarah the witch take on the job of obtaining the Light of Allhorra. What Zoey doesn't realuze is that her contract is with a demon of the Hell plane. If she is unable to fulfill the contract....well let's just say she'll be screwed. Zoey and her team battle demons, shifters, other vampures, halflings and faeries in their attempt to procure the Light. Daniel and Zoey's tenuous relationship is tested more than once. They become each other's saviors and Daniel continues to protect Zoey in every way possible.

In Steal The Day Zoey is determined, with her team's help, to rescue Sarah from the Hell plane and Halfer's clutches. Added to that she's been hired to rescue Felix Day, an angel, of the Heaven plane. Daniel, Dev and Zoey begin navigating Vampire politics as Dev becomes Daniel's advisor, a role he'd been groomed for in the Court of the Faery. The men have to play nice and learn to do more than tolerate each other as Zoey realizes she loves them both. The threesome are beyond powerful and together thet may thwart the darkness planned by some of the Vampire Council.

In typical Lexi fashion there are snippets of humor interspersed throughout the story that bring a chuckle. Her Vampire/Supernatural world is dotted with fascinating creatures and stories.

When I first started reading this book It was hard to keep my attention on it, But I always try to read at least 30% of the book before I stop reading it. But by the time I hit 20% it could not stop reading the book Put a human that is a thief and add in a Vampire, a Wolf, a Witch going to find something that Demon wants, and take it from a Faery and they take you from one place to another fighting something and trying to get something and even seeing a sex god Faery that turns on way to much charm and then add angels and someone is always trying to kill you I love it a lot and can not wait to read book 3 now

Special team,human,vampire and fae.

A human is the centre for a vampire and a fae Prince. Zoey is a professional thief like her father before her. Her team is her family and they take on more than they planned when they accidentally make a contract with a demon. This has a slow start but stay with it the story really picks up a pace when it’s obvious there is a traitor amongst them. The second book really picks up the relationship between Daniel, Zoey and Dev. A return to hell Is required.

Supernatural and good

I liked this story about vampires, faeries, demons and angels. It was a little slow in the beginning but it soon got very interesting and engaging.
The characters is well described and they each have their flaws.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Dialogues that defines the characters
What I liked the most was that it was not filled with love scenes but rather more action and plotting.

A solid 4 stars for this series

This series is simply everything you could ask from a paranormal author

I have no idea why I resisted reading this series but I should have realised Levi Blake can't write a bad book. You will find the stories full of emotion. Laughter, joy, pain and overwhelming sorrow. A hugely satisfying read that I intend to continue by purchasing every book in the series.

Really enjoyable

Very nice world building and characters. Funny, full of angst and fast paced. I appreciated the two book bundle. I have seen the Thieves series listed but wasn't that interested in the subject ( based on the titles, I admit). Now, will be reading the rest of the series.

The best laid plans can get you killed.

So what happens when a super vamp, fae prince, and half human walk into a bar? Love, sex and a great deal of adventure! A good time will be had by all. Love the characters and the lame brained heists they get themselves into.

Steal the Light

Lexi does Paranormal Romance... and WOW!!!

I loved Lexi's take on the paranormal romance world in her "A Faery Story" series (which I HIGHLY recommend) and while I wasn't sure if I would like this one, I found myself devouring Zoey, Daniel and Dev's story. With so many PNR creatures and a universe rich with backstory, Lexi manages to begin an incredible story about a human, a vampire and a Fae... with a witch, a werewolf, some trolls and a demon thrown in for good measure! This is the first book in a five book series about these three (plus there's a spin off series) so while there is a HFN sense to the end... the story is definitely not over and I cannot wait to read more!

Steal the Day

Things just keep getting better!!

It took me a little while to give this series a red hot go but now I have started it... I know it's one I will be reading time and time again!! Zoey, Dev and Daniel's story continues in this one and I love how their relationship evolves along with the ever present danger that Zoey manages to find herself in. The cast of secondary characters grows as well and I really loved being introduced to more of the people in this world.
The sex scenes are steamy, the action is jaw dropping and this series is up there as one of my all time favourites (alongside Lexi's Masters and Mercenaries series!!).

I have just reread these 2 books after reading the Bliss and Fae series.

I liked these the first time but now I understand the character motivations better. This series seems more along an epic plot line. Fun banter, bloody violence, King building politics and some kinky sexy times are mentioned,
