jkjk but yooo it's been lit months since i picked up a jpn bk and read it in full. yo home girl was going through some thangs but slowly trying to make a come back.
this short BL novel was the perfect start. nihongo wa nani but the jpn level here was a breeze and the story was up my alley.
summary time: haruki is a HS senior who is smart, good looking, and great at sports. he's full of himself. he's that kid you hate in class cuz he barely puts effort in anything but can pretty much do what you can't do with time, hard work, and determination, thanks genetics. i'm a slow ass, i can study for life and still be dumb as fuck aye. so haruki gets butt hurt when a transfer student he never talked to says something to him that rubbed him the wrong way times a hunnen.
so instead of getting over his bullshit, haruki finds ways to get to know this mysterious person so he can find his weakness and come out on top w/ a win. kinda hard tho' when no one really knows much about the transfer student and this classmate keeps brushing you off and ignoring you. 'cept haruki is stubborn asf and doesn't take no for an answer.
what started out as a game to win becomes a lot more than that.
i really enjoyed this and looking forward to reading more stuff from aida. she writes both BL and GL works, draws her own cover art... i mean damn she does it all. really looking forward to her GL stuff.
but the extended ver cost $ but only a lil' under $5. totally worth it, 3 extra chapters including a chapter in the seme’s pov and the last chapter in his little sister’s pov which surprisingly was very good and made me like and respect her way more than i did prior to reading the extended version. in the main story she’s in elementary school but here she becomes a high schooler and her thoughts related to her unrequited love, reality, and her wish for her older bro and haruki to be happy despite being broken-hearted at the same time... really, really good chapter.
if you want BL w/ jpn that ain't complicated, a quick read with entertaining characters (i could do without the lil' sister bit tbh.... i said until i read the chapter in her pov, welp) then definitely check it out!
