Fifteen years later she is expanding her role into writing elective curriculum that focuses on college and career readiness. She is the author of the fictional story Heroes Don’t Always Wear Capes about a student finally finding a few extraordinary teachers who become her heroes for life.
Her second book is the Memoir 9 Realities of Caring for an Elderly Parent: A Love Story of a Different Kind in which she unveils the gritty realities Boomers will face in this funny, and compassionate account of their daunting role if they are the adult child coming home to care for an elderly parent until the very end.
The Companion Playbook (2016), the workbook version, has been created to save those readers precious time from copious note-taking on the Memoir.
Currently at work on a 4-book series aimed at middle-grade readers about little mischief-makers in elementary school and how they grow forward with a release anticipated for fall 2017.
Her public speaking credits include major San Francisco media on KGO/Ronn Owens, KQED/Michael Krasny, KTVU/Bay Area People and education conferences, including the national Gates Ed Foundation for teacher leaders known as ECET2--Elevating and Celebrating Effective Teachers and Teaching. She lives in Northern California with her family.

The shenanigans continue in this heart-pounding adventure novel perfect for middle grade readers! Likewise, teachers and parents are sure to get a kick out of Slater's antics and appreciate the lessons taught.
I read MISCHIEF (Book 1 in the series) and fell in love with the characters, so I was thrilled to get to follow them in MAYHEM. We get to know some of the secondary characters, like Graham, on a deeper level and we are introduced to some new friends, like Chicky.
I won't include spoilers, so I'll simply say that adventure, humor and lessons learned are all woven into this fun, spirited tale of a group of youngsters finding their way. Thumbs up!

Another great book by Stefania Shaffer.
Leaving us on a cliffhanger at the end of book one, Stefania kept the heat on as the police start to question neighbors (and their kids) about the fire in the park.
Just when Slater and his friends think they've gotten away with it, middle school starts and a whole new set of problems announce their presence. From a teacher that wants things done a certain way, to a new student that seems like a bigger trouble maker than Slater ever was in 5th grade, Mayhem lives up to its name with each page in the book.
Now, the only question left is...what to do about Sibley White?

I won this book in the giveaways and I'm glad that I did because it's not something I would have picked up on my own. I'm a grown man so the tween/YA genre isn't exactly my demographic. I never read the first book so some of it was over my head but I really enjoyed characters like Slater and the way Shaffer writes.
