What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas, as Amber Deacon learned when she snuck out on Zach Monroe before he awoke.
Amber is the black sheep of her family. Instead of conforming and trying to please, she embraced being different knowing that there wasn’t anything wrong with it. Her front of happiness took a lot of work, but she mastered it.
Abandonment issues have always secretly plagued Zach. Deep-rooted memories he’s kept bottled up. No one really stuck around. So why is it that he’s so bothered that Amber left him without a word? Is it worth trying to find her to figure it out, or will their magical few days in Vegas remain just a blip in his life?

Another great read by an author who just keeps getting better with each book (although I still love the first two in the Road series best).
Zach and Amber have both overcome childhoods where they felt they were abandoned or unloved. Both are successful and they hook up at a medical conference in Vegas. When Amber sneaks out while Zach is still sleeping, he tries everything he can to find her. Circumstance brings them back together and the feelings that started in Vegas are rekindled (and by that I mean on fire)
Another great thing is catching a glimpse of the other characters from past books. But this book is a stand-alone, so no worries that you have to read in order.
Great characters and plots make me a fan of this author. Although I was awarded an advanced copy of Deserve a Chance, this review reflects my opinion and is freely given. I think anyone who enjoys a good love story will love this book and series.
Zack at a convention he didn’t want to go to, then he saw Amber sitting with a beer alone in the bar. They had been together since. Now waking up, notices her clothes are gone, and not sure if her name was even Amber Dustin or hotel or phone number she was at. Amber didn’t feel like her normal happy self, she misses Zack, but got no contact information, of where he worked or phone number. For Zack he felt like he connected with her, and now felt abandoned which has brought problems before with him, For her being somebody she really wasn’t. Would they meet again and get the information next time. Cute story
Zack and Amber have more in common than they thought. Bleak childhoods left them with deep longings for love and acceptance. A chance run in brought them together and the spark that meeting ignited could either grow into an inferno or be put out by a long-distance relationship.
The storyline is beautifully romantic with steamy love scenes. Natalie Ann has created characters with interactions that are believable and the subjects the story deals with are realistic. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
This one brings together two people who has people in their lives that have been rather judgy. Zach was pretty much raised by two loving grandparents and knew they loved him, but the rejection of his mother hurt. Amber was raised with her sister and lots of foster kids by her minister father and mother. Her mom didn't always like her lifestyle. But Amber & Zach meet at a convention in Vegas, but little did they know how small there world was until they see each other in Max's office in Lake Placid.
Such a sweet and funny story. I was cheering them on since the very first chapter when Amber gave Zach the slip and couldn't wait until I knew they were going to come face to face again. I love how it happened at Celeste's B&B and brought in the bantering from Caleb and Zach. Great characters, great story.
A long distance relationship between a businessman and physicians assistant has many obstacles to overcome from both their families.
A solid, well written story, with believable characters and locations. A real look at what having a dysfunctional family can do to a child growing up, and how some overcome the problems with support from other sources.
I've been waiting for Zach's book for months and I wasn't disappointed. I loved his character when we were first introduced. It was great he ended up with Amber. Another awesome supporting character in other books.
The story was a little slow in places but a nice read anyways. The characters were interesting. I haven't read books 1-4 so I had a bit of bother trying to keep everyone straight.
Very sexual at times but good characters underneath. Something is bugging me but I'm not sure what. Might just be my mood being off. Really appreciated how the review request after was worded. Thanks for that!
They meet in Vagas, but it was later, in Lake Placid, they got to know each other. Both had their fair share of baggage, and until the demons of their pasts were exercised, neither could have peace and look to a future.
I never expected Zach or Amber's background and loved how it was so different than I imagined and how it made them to lovable fun characters we've seen in other books. Good story.
Another good romance from Natalie Ann in this series. A good read alone, but if you read the series from the beginning, you feel like you are a part of the whole family and friends. On to the next in the series. :)
I absolutely loved this book with Amber and Deacon. I loved watching them both fall for each other and overcome their rocky family pasts to realize they could be together and that they both deserve a chance. Great job!
