The Company contains the books Come, Come Back, and Coming for You and can be read as a standalone story or as book 6 in the Rook & Ronin Series.

*****

There are two kinds of people in the world. Lovers and fighters.

But our heroes are both.

James Fenici is The Company’s most dangerous assassin. He’s also the most unpredictable and doesn’t take direction well. The Company would really like to get rid of him but he’s just not that easy to kill.

Harper Tate is the invisible girl. A Company Princess who grew up on a superyacht and was secretly trained by her assassin brother. She has no birth certificate, no friends, and she’s on the run with a piece of vital information The Company desperately wants back.

Sasha Cherlin is just twelve years old. But she’s not just a twelve-year-old girl. She’s as cunning and dangerous as any other Company assassin. And she’s got secrets that could bring the entire organization down.

Together these three people are The Company’s worst nightmare and those in charge will do anything to keep them apart.

But when James finds Harper his damaged assassin mind begins to heal.

When Sasha finds James the emptiness inside her begins to fill up.

And when Harper finds them both she knows only one thing for certain.

Love is worth fighting for.

*****

The Company is a fast-paced erotic suspense about living in a shadow world that straddles that thin line between right and wrong. It’s a book about love, and lust, and what it means to be friends.

But mostly it’s about choosing your own family. And how sometimes it’s worth risking everything to save them.

J.A. Huss never wanted to be a writer and she still dreams of that elusive career as an astronaut. She originally went to school to become an equine veterinarian but soon figured out they keep horrible hours and decided to go to grad school instead. That Ph.D wasn’t all it was cracked up to be (and she really sucked at the whole scientist thing), so she dropped out and got a M.S. in forensic toxicology just to get the whole thing over with as soon as possible.

After graduation she got a job with the state of Colorado as their one and only hog farm inspector and spent her days wandering the Eastern Plains shooting the shit with farmers. After a few years of that, she got bored. And since she was a homeschool mom and actually does love science, she decided to write science textbooks and make online classes for other homeschool moms. She wrote more than two hundred of those workbooks and was the number one publisher at the online homeschool store many times, but eventually she covered every science topic she could think of and ran out of shit to say.

So in 2012 she decided to write fiction instead. That year she released her first three books and started a career that would make her a New York Times bestseller and land her on the USA Today Bestseller’s List eighteen times in the next three years. Her books have sold millions of copies all over the world, the audio version of her semi-autobiographical book, Eighteen, was nominated for a Voice Arts Award and an Audie award in 2016 and 2017 respectively, her audiobook Mr. Perfect was nominated for a Voice Arts Award in 2017, and her book, Taking Turns, was nominated for an Audie Award in 2018. Johnathan McClain is her first (and only) writing partner and even though they are worlds apart in just about every way imaginable, it works.

She lives on a ranch in Central Colorado with her family.

I had read the three books Come, Comeback and Coming For You which make up The Company separately ages ago.

An intricately woven tale of shadow governments, secret spies, assassins, sexy villains and heroes too. A tale of betrayals, who can trust? If your name comes up you are as good as dead. Trying to stay alive and ahead of the evil doings is the name of the game! The Company has all the goods!

A hot, sexy, mind blowing page turner! This is one you don't want to miss!

TRULY MAGNIFICENT FROM BEGINING TO END!
PHENOMENAL STORYLINE and MAGNIFICENT NARRATION!!

Author J.A. Huss's writing is outstanding, original and unique. Her storytelling is vividly graphic, bold, stunning, flawless and with such an engaging writing style. Just brilliant!

I had the pleasure of reading this fabulous trilogy (3 installments) before, so I'll be reviewing this especial Kindle editon in addition to the Audiobook. The story is beautifully well-written, perfectly paced, and with amazingly well-built plot and sub-plots that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.

The Company is a truly gripping, dark, twisted, enthralling and suspenseful story. All the characters are likeable, believable and very compelling. I really loved and enjoyed following James and Harper's exciting journey, filled with a passionate romance, danger, drama, darkness, action and much more!

The narrators performance is magnificent, provocative and compelling. With their skillful narrative styles and pleasant sounding voice, Tad Branson and Ava Erickson bring the story to life, and magically transport you to an amazing world!!

Thank you so much for combining this amazing story into one single audiobook.

This is the JA Huss that I love. This audio had it all. Dominant alpha, strong sassy heroin, underestimated assassin 13-year-old girl, suspense, revenge, love, sabotage, and on and on. It kept me anticipating all the characters next moves and not wanting to turn it off. A must listen if you want, not only dark and sexy as hell, but also a great story, where the characters are well-developed, there’s something new in every chapter, and your emotions will be pulled in every direction. The dual narration was perfect. Tad Branson did an excellent job of pulling off the crazy alpha male as well as the tender banter the character called for. Ava Erickson was strong and powerful while showing vulnerability. Both narrators knew exactly how to pitch and fluctuate their voices to fit the scenes perfectly. I cannot say enough about this Audio.

Not your average romance novel - kept me guessing the whole book, but I loved Sasha’s character (the thirteen year old).

Wow! What a wild, crazy, twisted, f*cked up rollercoaster ride this book was! So many twists and turns! You couldn’t tell which way was up or down and when you finally get to the point where you realize what’s really going on it’s mind blowing! It smacks you right in the face! Only special kinds of authors can do that to you and JA Huss is definitely one of those authors. She an amazing writer and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

Suspense & Erotica & Intrigue

I’m totally hooked on Huss’ wide universe of conspiracy, lust, intrigue, child assassins, erotic interludes, and good old fashioned suspense. Very happy to learn there are a few more books after this one, but “The Company” is probably my favorite so far.

FIVE MASSIVE FREAKING STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If I could I’d give this audiobook more stars I wouldn’t hesitate.
I saved this ebook until I had the audiobook in my library, and let me tell you it didn’t disappoint.
What a web Ms Huss did weave, because let me tell you all she has me sitting on the edge of my seat with every chapter I read.
The characters within this book will blow your mind, this story of The Company will freak you out because there is some truth to all of this. If you haven’t figured it out yet, (The Company, be it by that name or another) is in fact real.
Julie A Huss is a master at weaving a touch of truth in most of her books, if not all.
I haven’t read one of her books that I haven’t loved, but this must be my favourite of them all.
And seriously, that is saying a lot.
The narrators Ava & Tad did an absolutely amazing job bringing this story to life for me as a listener.

COME
I loved this introduction into a new world with its new (ish) characters. Though the start and a few times after that was a little slow going for me, I felt my attention wandering as I just had so many questions throughout the book but it did keep me intrigued and had kept me going to find out more. I know those answers will be revealed later, and I absolutely can’t wait to find out what happens with Harper and James, but I’m so impatient I’m dying to find out what they are.
Harper took me a little while to like her character, there was just something about her that I wasn’t a fan of. But I was loving James right from the very start. I loved how they first met and the connection they had right away. I really enjoyed their interactions and their steamy moments throughout this read.
4 stars

COME BACK
A great continuation in the series. There were a lot of questions answered from the previous book but new questions just replaced them and piled up, I’m dying to know! This book was packed with emotions, some funny, hot and sexy scenes, turns and surprises that I’m almost certain I’ve figured out.
I loved the growing connection and interactions between James and Harper. I really enjoyed the introductions to new characters especially Sasha. I knew she’d be such a fun and quirky character when I was first introduced to her in a previous JA Huss book, I really loved her whole persona and the way she took things on. I loved James’ POV right from the start especially when he first met Sasha. I enjoyed getting to know more about all 3 characters - James, Harper and Sasha and the rollercoaster journey they go on.
There were some parts that were a little slow going for me but it didn’t take long for the story to pick up and suck me right back in to keep me entertained.
4.5 stars

COMING FOR YOU
Mind. Blown. This book screwed with my head and I loved every minute of it. There were times where I wanted to throw my book across the room, times where I was yelling and times where I found myself talking to myself trying to sort this mystery out. It was full of emotions, revenge, action, hot times, a couple funny moments and scenes where I felt my heart got ripped right down the middle (especially those few chapters at the end). I loved they way it all turned out.
I loved all the surprises and bombs in the story especially all the reveals and aah-ha moments, but there were some things that didn’t quite add up, and although a lot of questions were answered in this final book, there are still quite a bit I have unanswered (which, fingers crossed, get answered in the next couple books).
I loved how this book started with Sasha’s POV from the Christmas where everything went south for her, I enjoyed getting into her head right from the beginning. She is one kicka** girl and easily one of my favourite characters of all time. I loved the innocence, stubbornness and determination she had all rolled into one. The same with Harper, I loved how stubborn she was but I also thought she was a little naive and needed to grow a backbone at times, which she so did towards the end. James was just OMG… I just loved everything about him. The romantic side, the assassin side and the way he was with Harper as well as Sasha… what wasn’t to love?!
I really enjoyed all the interactions all the characters had with another, especially The Admiral, Nick and another character as well (when you read it, you’ll realise who as they were a huge shock!).
A very good series which I definitely and highly recommended.

Well, okay, head trip, my friend, nice to see you again! This book has so many twists and turns and double-crossing it will make your head spin. It’s kind of related to THREE, TWO, ONE, in that it exists in the same world but, h0ly m0ly, you better concentrate because this plot is COMPLEX, and I LOVED IT! This is a long audio. Almost 18 hours, this one’s a marathon, not a sprint but it’s so freaking good!

I’m not even gonna try and explain the plot because it’s best you go in blind, but buckle up, Buttercup, because you are in for the ride of your life.

There are lies and lies and then more lies, there are secrets and codes and illusions, nothing is as it seems. The characters have layers and are raw and flawed and a little bit loony at times, but it all just lends to this addictive story that Julie has created. You can’t help but want to know what happens next.

This is gonna be a short review because I don’t want to give anything away except that the steam is H.O.T. and there is d@nger and action around literally every corner. I live for dirty talk and this book was a masterclass in it.

Ava plays these young female characters so well. She has this innocence to her voice that just fits them, but don’t be fooled, the young women/girls in this book are 100% bada$$, and I love a strong feisty female lead. I haven’t listened to many books of Tad’s, but he rocked his roles in this one. He was mysterious, cunning, manipulative, seggsy, and of course dominant.

This audiobook was quite delightful! And that ending! It just sucks you in so you want the next book. J.A. Huss, take all my money!!!

I'm not sure where to begin. The Company is a shadow organization that controls the world, but this book isn't about them, per se. Harper Tate is a Company Princess who made a daring escape from her life living on a superyacht. She left a trail of destruction behind her and ran away with some important information. She thought she was keeping a fairly low profile waiting for her twin brother, Nick, to find her, until she crossed paths with James Fenici. The story is too complex to summarize, but it mainly focuses on the relationship between Harper, James, and Sasha Cherlin, a young girl who is also part of the Company world. The narrators do a phenominal job bringing these complex characters to life, expressing all the angst, anxiety, fear and confidence they experience through this 3 part series.
I've read several more recent books by this author that involve the Company, and am going back to where it all started. Was it necessary to do that? No, this author is skilled at providing the information needed to immerse the reader fully into that part of the story, but I wanted to meet the characters in their own "origin" story. Not enough superlatives to express my appreciation for JA Huss' storytelling!

🎧 I believe with all her books that I have read so far, I have the feeling of being in someone else’s dream. Sometimes weird, sometimes dark.. but I find they have an eerie vibe, without being scary. This one is no exception.

🎧 One of the cases where the heroin is way younger than I would like but in this content I can bypass it, considering how she was raised.

🎧 The story was firstly presented as three books, but I think I liked it better reading all of it.

❗️ Disclaimer : My rants, ramblings, and incoherent thoughts below might be considered spoilers by some. Also, often, I do not read trigger warnings or blurbs.

🎧 Book one: I have finished book one, and I am waiting to decide if I like him. Very quickly I have put her age at the back of my head concerning the spicy part of the book. 🙂 But I am intrigued to see how she came to the situation she is right now.

🎧 Book two: How to possibly try to describe what is going on from here onwards. Without spoiling. But even if I wanted to spoil something, I am too confused to do so.

🎧 Book three: Oh, Ms. Huss. The way you have mixed up all these people and situations and the Company business. I would indeed think it would be so good for tv.

I have loved every JA Huss book I have ever laid my hands on. The Company could possibly be my favorite, however, I have said that before. We meet many new characters in this book, some we have seen glimpses of before, and some we know well. I love that all the books collide and the stories have so many levels. The main characters in this one James, Harper, Sasha and Nick. I fell in love with James, I really liked Harper and I really enjoyed getting to see Sasha in the aftermath of her last appearance. It was full of excitement, so many twists and turns. Who is bad, who is good... no one seems to know. That's what I love the best. You are kept guessing and wondering what on earth is going on right up to the end. Even then, there are mysteries left to be solved in future books. This world she has created is one that could be very real, but you hope isn't. You grow so attached to the people and their plight. I am going to be so sad when I finish this saga. I listened to the audio and it was fantastic. Tad Branson is so awesome, he really delivers it with such power and emotion its incredible.

Audiobook review - idk what I was expecting but I guess I had really high expectations from this one...I was basically curious about Sasha ...I honestly read the Rook Ronin spinoff because of her as I read the first chapter of Wasted Lust nd wanted to know about Ford and Spencer more...I was not impressed ...I feel her character is exaggerated like she is described time and time again such badass and all that but really what does she do to earn that ? Wasn't much impressed with the James nd Harper stuff either .. By the end I was so done with Six and James and whatever was his third name being repeated over and over like how other characters could see which one it was through the eyes ..I atleast expected a split personality or something big to justify all that....and then the twin like really ?...it wsnt all confusing enough...the only thing it had going for it was the suspecnse that how will it all end ....nd then I didn't really like how shit went down...very anti-climatic or easy....Don't even wantvto read Wasted Lust now.

Intense to the 10th degree

James, from Ford's book, is our featured "hero", if we can call him that. At 28 he has been an assassin for The Company since age 16. At 28 he knows no other lifestyle.
Harper is the crown princess of The Company. James has loved her since he first met her at age 16.
Sasha was first introduced in Ford's book. It takes a while to figure out exactly what her place is within The Company. Hunter? Assassin? Casualty?
This book, with it's mini cliffhangers in each chapter, will suck you in. I read the 660 pages in 2 days. It is really hard to put down.
The story is very detailed and complicated with complex characters and hard to handle at times. People are randomly murdered, tortured and blown apart. Wives are murdered for not giving up their children and children are used as pawns, rewards, in a game of power. Lots of triggers in the book.
JA Huss put a lot of thought into this story. It is good but there are lots of uncomfortable moments that might cause a few nightmares for me.

Really good read.

This entire story was really good. The storyline was great as well as all the characters. The story was intriguing, suspenseful, made you really think, confusing, interesting, crazy, erotic, page-turning, awesomeness. The twist and turns were great. It was long too. There were a few times after I got past 60% that I was ready to find out what was going on and who was telling the truth. That bothered me because there was so much story left and there was a lot of wondering who was working for who and who was telling the truth. LOL I knew I had to get to the end to find out. I made it though. I’m really glad I read this series. I loved James/Tet/Six and Sasha and Harper. They were all great characters. I didn’t realize Ford had a few books as well. I didn’t know who Rook was either towards the end but she has books too. I am very curious to know of Nick will get a book. Will he come back for Sasha?? I hope so.

Doubling back from Spencer Shrike's book to catch up on James Fenici.

Boy once you get pulled into one of Julie's world's you are not backing out until you meet the whole family. We know nothing more about James than the last chapter of the Shrike book, but of course, we need more.

This book may be about Harper, but Harper has no relevance in this book without James.

James makes the story even though it's told mostly through Harper's voice. She's running, hiding, and was just introduced to sex by James and they are tied to each other. To paraphrase, because he was her first, he will also be her last.

Was he the guy the Admiral meant for Harper?

Can this shit get any more convoluted? Hell yes, and I wouldn't want it any other way. I'm starting the next book tomorrow.

I don't know why this author is so vulgar. she even calls the end of her books “end of book sh*t” and it's not funny. anyway about this book, im very surprised I've endured to finish this series. until the very end, my feelings for the characters are pretty much non existent. i just dont believe them. the story is all over the place. it lacks depth and is confusing as hell. I don't feel any chemistry between James and Harper. they just basically have hot sex and that's it. I don't even believe their love for each other. Their org is also ridiculous. Never reading another book by this author ever again. 2.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ok so from what I gather, "The Company" is actually a slightly retooled and complied version of the Dirty, Dark & Deadly series which features "Come", "Come Back" and "Coming For You". I wish I'd known that going in so that I might've been better mentally prepared and then maybe the last third or so of the story wouldn't have had that tedious edge to it. But that being said... it was a compelling, action packed story with a range of characters. There were moments where I did put it down here and there but I always went back because I was curious to know what happened to the cast of characters.

I'm not sure what it is, but I tend to not really gravitate towards this authors books that have a deep suspense story. I really wanted to like The Company. The blurb was very interesting and I thought I was really going to dive in, but I found it hard to keep up with what was going on with the mystery and this whole bigger plot going on. I had no investment or feelings in James or Harper. Harper was pretty much useless and I thought she was going to be a badass and a skilled killer, but I didn't get any of that.

Not a fan of this story and characters. The Company and me just didn't mesh.

Ok, wow, this book is full on and so full of detail. I am glad I have been writing notes on the characters and keeping track of nicknames too. Julie still blows my mind with her writing, I mean some authors go into so much detail that a book can get boring, but somehow Julie doesn’t do that, with all the detail she covers she still keeps my interest and better still keeps it so much she makes me want to listen to more and more of her books. I started and finished the Bossy Series before I decided to go back and start with Rook and Ronin and I am glad I did. I can’t wait to carry on with this journey, best author ever.

Murder, intrigue, love and lies!

The Company by J A Huss is a story of intrigue, murder, love, and lies. James Fenici is a Company assassin, Harper Tate is in hiding from the Company, Sasha Cherlin is an orphaned Company teenager , who together are on a dangerous journey. Not knowing who to trust is the hardest part in this deadly game. I love the bickering between James, Harper, and Sasha, (killers bickering is seriously funny). It's a compelling read that you won't be able to put down. A brilliant and exciting must read!
