• No matter what your circumstances are, you cannot read this book and not feel extremely blessed! • An inspiring and beautiful gift book full of wonderful stories, quotes, poems and insight to help you reflect on the positives in life. • A wonderful gift book to give to someone in need of encouragement – it can take you from feeling down to feeling blessed.
The title of this beautiful book was inspired by a great quote from Vivian Green..."Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain!"
How true it is! We all face adversity in our life. However, it's not the adversity, but how we react to it that will determine the joy and happiness in our lives. During tough times, do we spend too much time feeling sorry for ourselves, or can we, with gratitude...learn how to dance in the rain?
It almost sounds too simple to feel important, but one word...gratitude, can change your attitude, and thus your life, forever. Sarah Breathnach said it best...
"When we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present... We experience heaven on earth."
Mac Anderson and BJ Gallagher have written a classic on "the awesome power of gratitude." No matter what your circumstances are, you cannot read this book and not feel extremely blessed!
Mac, the founder of Simple Truths, had this to say about his co-author:
"BJ Gallagher is one of the most talented and creative writers I've ever known. I was honored to work with her to create this wonderful book."
Learning to Dance in the Rain is beautifully designed, with great stories and great quotes. It makes a terrific gift for any occasion; it can take you from feeling down to feeling blessed, in less than 30 minutes!
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. Melody Beattie
Quote: The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails. Williams Arthur Ward
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. John F. Kennedy
The goal of this book has been to share stories and anecdotes from others, so that you might benefit from their experience, strength, and hope. For me , this book has met its goal. Happy Reading.
This is a worthwhile read. You can probably read it in about an hour, but it is best read savoring and reflecting on each phrase. The theme is gratitude, and the book includes quotes from famous writers through the ages who all recognized the power of this principle. We've had this book for several years, but I only just read it today. Ironically, the lessons it teaches were being learned by me the whole time the book sat unread by my nightstand. Having endured health scares with my wife, the almost dissolution of our marriage through mutual embitterment, the loss of my job, the loss of both our vehicles, the loss of our heating and air, and the loss of much of our community all during the COVID-19 pandemic, the God of the universe miraculously taught me more about gratitude than I ever hoped--and I had foolishly already thought of myself as an optimist. Of course, that way of thinking relies on my own fickle power, rather than God's. Reading this book to me, was like God's closing argument to me on the subject--the case was already well-made and the verdict would not be deliberated, but the trial is never over until the closing arguments are made.
Filled with quotes from various individuals and lots of full-color photographs. My favorite portion were the nine tips for "dance lessons" when times are stormy and gratitude may be harder.
-Be thankful for what didn't happen. -Plant a "Trouble Tree." -Learn "The Glad Game" and play it often. -Practice forgiveness—let go of resentments. -Look for the lesson in every experience. -Make gratitude a habit. -Express your gratitude. -Teach others how to be grateful. -Create your own future.
This little book creates a big impact through its beautiful pictures, vignette stories, and quotes on gratitude which blend together to impart the power and importance of gratitude.
Visually appealing, and a book that you can read through from beginning to end, or pick places at random, this book is bound to lift your spirits and give you an attitude of gratitude. A perfect gift for yourself or others, as we all need to be reminded and "reset" from time to time.
A lovely inspiring book teaching the meaning and the power of gratitude especislly in the hard times. simple, yet powerful... loved the pictures. If you want to read more about gratetude and how to practice it, I recommend to read " the magic" by Rhonda Byrne..
