Another awesome lusty read of beautiful sensuality about dragons!!! Ophelia bell is a awesome writer who writers will passion and who's books leave me breathless!!! in this book Erika and her team have finally found the tomb of the legendary dragons and once inside they find not only great treasures but beautiful dragons so real that it's like their watching and waiting to come to life. Little does Erika and her team know, they've started a chain of events that with a Little Dragon magic will bring these statues to life and the mating will begin!!! Get ready for this steamy and oh! So much naughty Dragon fun in this story!
Within the first moments of opening the ancient temple, it becomes clear to the group that there is something almost magical about the space they've discovered - the find is completely pristine; unseen by human eyes for centuries.
The rooms are filled with life-like jade carvings of Dragons - the details are astounding and filled with sexual imagery.
The anterooms and passageways will take several days to explore and catalog, so the team builds camp for the night inside the temple.
As the euphoria wears off from the discovery, a curious and relentless sexual tension begins to affect each of the team members.
There were several POVs throughout the book from a handful of teammates, and I think it's safe to assume that over the course of the Sleeping Dragons series, each of the members of the Archaeological team will have their moment in the spotlight... But for this book, Erika was the main focus.

Because this short little read was packed with mystery, naughtiness, and anticipation. This was a great book to turn in my dragon v-card too, with their ability to change size (*wink-wink*, and how useful the dragons tongue can be... I totally would recommend this for all my friends who can appreciate dragon erotica.

This short story is about 7 archaeologists lead by Erika.
Erika is following the myths and legends her father told her as a young child.
They're in search of a cave that has ancient dragon artifacts, and they believe they've just found it.
Once they open the door into the tomb, suddenly everyone in the group has to get their funk on.
They're shocked to discover life-like statues everywhere that are all aroused.

Meh, Meh and MEH. Here is goes there is this team search for ancient goodies and they stumble upon this Dragon cave with jade doors and statues of lizard like beasts. They all seem to have slept with each other at one point or another except for one virgo and talk raunchy which I imagine was supposed to be sexy. (My mind went Ewwwww) Okay so they reach this cave where an ancient force make them super duper horny but they can't reach the final goal no matter what ?!?!??! They talk about it, they walk around dripping, road hard, hands down their pants....Oh yeah, still not stimulating my neither regions (snort) Now one of the group comes clean he's the horny for years guide who brought them there and tells them of the "no come" curse without touching a dragon. But wait a minute the only dragons are the statues, so lets go hump them, k ? (giggles and popping gum) Weeee Whooo statue sex. It was easy enough to figure out what this did to the statues. Yep. Then the book ended and said please continue with book 2. Sure I will but I have to be touching a dragon to do it.

That was weird... Maybe I'm asking too much from my erotica but I don't know why the dragons need to be woken up? With sex?

Two and a half
I've been going through my kindle trying to read those freebies that I've accumulated and found this. If honest I'd totally forgotten I had it and that's a shame as I've been meaning to try this author for ages. I love paranormal romance and the idea of dragons is so exciting but it's not exactly what I expected.
Ok it's the first in a series so in many ways just introducing the set up and characters involved. Essentially we have a team of archaeologists tracking down a tomb that holds jade dragons. The rub though is that these are really sleeping dragons desperate for physical awakening that apparently can only be triggered by lots of sexual energies. I'm no pride but honestly it wasn't that erotic to me which is a shame. I've nothing against Erika acknowledging her sexual needs but
riding a statue ? That's just a wee bit unsanitary particularly when you consider how many hundreds of years its been there. I am disappointed but realise that others might enjoy these horny, hard characters but I don't think that I will look for more in this series.

What a pleasant surprise! I've been in a paranormal/shifter slump for a bit and this has brought my interest back. Not only was this super charged erotic but it has a really interesting story to back it up. Which I think is very difficult to do in only 37 pages. Another thing that’s difficult to do, is leave the short story with a HFN and you’re ok waiting until the next installment comes out. Bravo

While trying to figure out the mystery of the Dragon temple and statues, they are surrounded by magic that keeps them in an aroused state of mind and body.
I really liked this story. I thought the author told a fantastic story in a short amount of time. I thought the storyline was well thought out and unique, the characters are interesting and the sex is phenomenal! Statues, Dragons and Magic, FUCKY YA!! I will warn some of you that may have issues with a dragon shifter, in dragon form having sex with a human. I thought that was fucking awesome and I want MORE OF THAT!!! Also one of the characters is bisexual but does not go into detail which I thought was a little disappointing. The only thing that could have made the last sex scene better was if the male dragon was taking on both the male and female humans. SWEET JEZZ-US! OMG! Im about to slide outta my seat just thinking about it. Bring on the dragon orgies!
My only complaint is that it’s to short and it would be nice if all the stories were sold together in one set/novel. With that being said there is no cliffhanger but does leave some questions unanswered and the reader wanting more.
Overall, I fucking loved it. Like I said before, the story is well told in a short amount of time, the characters are interesting and I cant wait to learn more about each of them (especially Kris). The sex is super erotic and does the job in the arousal territory. I have just one last thing to say… Ophelia Bell, you have a new fan!!

Blame the MacHalo Group for this book choice as our buddy read. It's all Sh3lly's fault.
That being said, I'm also copying her rating because I don't really know what to say about this. It was good compared to the previous smut book we read, Probed, since there was an actual plot. But this is like the intro first chapters to a whole book, as you only get the setup. The rest of the story comes in serials or novellas and they're not free like this one. So either don't read this or buy them all.
The story: Erika has an obsession with the dragon people myth and has become an archeologist to research & discover them. She finds this temple & along with her group of 7 fellow researchers, they go into the underground temple & set up camp. While there, they all get really really aroused, like they all downed a bottle of Viagra. Come to find out, they're all there to awaken the sleeping dragon people via sex. The end. Yeah, so the plot is interesting, but it's basically that small plot with a lot of smuttiness. And it didn't make me laugh at all. I've come to expect laughs with my smut. Failure on that point.

Can I just say, hot damn! So, I decided to give this series a try because I read a review of ASCEND, which is part six in this book, and I thought it sounded interesting. After reading ANIMUS, two things instantly popped into my mind. One, I didn’t realize ANIMUS is just the first part of the book, and two, I didn’t know Ms. Bell writes erotica. Holy smokes!
I’m not sure how I feel about reading only a partial of an entire book, but I will say Ms. Bell sure left her characters in, um … how should I say this … compromising positions?!
Overall, I enjoyed the read. The writing was crisp, dialog engaging, and the sex? Well, let’s just say the sex is nothing like I’ve read before, and for me, required an open mind. Want to know more? Read the book!

OMG! I loved it! I am in awe of Ms. Bell's talent and her imagination is off the charts! She is a true wordsmith! This series is a work of art! The story is original, imaginative, powerful and compelling. The dialog is smart,eloquent and simply beautiful. Ms. Bell has given us a large, wonderful cast of characters that are intriguing, engaging and quite simply, out of this world! And the love scenes are exquisite and so dreamy! Sigh.........I have read all seven books of the Rising Dragons Series and all the Sleeping Dragons Series Books as well and I was completely enthralled by each and every one! Each book of this series chronicles the lives of a dragon(or in some cases dragons) and their mates and their struggle to survive and adapt in this modern world in which they have now awakened. Sexy male and female dragons-check! Mystery, suspense and intrigue-check! Romance,sweet love and very steamy sex-check! Oh yeah! Hubba! Hubba! I was completely blown away. So deliciously wicked! Do yourself a solid and read them all!

If you want to hot and steamy Dragon filled story. This is the one for you. It does leave you with a lot of questions and thoughts about who the people really are and what their role is. It also makes you want to mind more of the history of the Dragon.

Erotic, intriguing and fabulously written. Gripped me from beginning to end -- masterful descriptions jump right off of the page and the characters are so well-developed that I forgot it wasn't a full length novel. Fantastic. Now, pardon me while I go devour the next one.

It's Erotica Monday because Monday's need spice! Time to wake the dragons, with what you ask? Why with sex of course.
Erika is an archeologist leading a sexy team to fulfill her fathers quest to find the mythical race of dragons. They find an ancient cave with magical artificial lighting that leads to a throne room. The room contains stone dragon sculptures with enormous erections. The team finds it hard not to touch the statues and soon they are finding it hard not to touch each other but no one is able to come.
Erika goes to the river for some relief and is followed by Kris, their mysterious local guide. He tells Erika the reason everyone is horny is because he's been dosing the food but mostly because of the dragon magic in the air. Then he shows her his enormous... dragon tattoo and tells her to follow him into the temple because, "it’s time for them to awaken and live in the world again. To mate with humans and ensure the magic stays strong.”
Now personally after someone tells me they've roofied my food they would no longer be on my trust list but Erika follows him anyway. Now you might think that this leads to a sex scene between them but no. Kris has some serious dragon touch-me-not magic on him. He's never been able to have sex. Not even to jerk off. Kris has been waiting his whole life for Erika and her team to perform the rituals to wake the dragons. The energy from Kris's sexual release is a part of the ritual but not in this book. :(
There are several doors and mystery rooms to this ritual (other books) but our story is the golden door. When Erika decides she's going go along with whatever is required she runs back to get her favorite fuck buddy Eben the geologist. When they open the door they find two life sized jade human figures with wings. The male is red and his phallus ready to go. A purple female is spread out and shiny for the taking. It's not long before Erika and Eben get over the idea of having sex with jade statues and after the energy of their first orgasms those aren't statues anymore!
Sexy dragon people have awoken and they are starved for attention. Lots of sex ensues but the story ends abruptly midcoitus! Talk about leaving you hanging! The story is obviously continued in the subsequent books but there was no need for such a discourteous ending.
I would say this was a fair example of the genre of dragon erotica but it lost a star for being mostly a tease.

The tale resembles those of Indiana Jones and Benjamin Franklin Gates except that there is a heroine instead of a hero. As a bonus or whipped cream and cherry on this adventurous delight, the reader is treated to essences of Fifty Shades without the self-doubt and complete lack of self-esteem. Taking the readers knowledge of dragons to a different level, things that haven’t appeared in any fairy tale are blatantly and unashamedly revealed. This story is new (first published in 2014) and book one of The Sleeping Dragon Series. This is also my introduction to this author but I assure toy it won’t be the last.

I quite enjoyed this the first of a series of short stories...not enough to buy them one at a time, though this one is currently free on Amazon, however, there is a compilation of these six stories. I am hooked enough to buy the compilation.
A group of archeologists led by Erika set of through dense jungle and locate a suspected temple. The group, and I think each one of them will have a focus story in the compilation, become eroticised. The stone dragons found...well, Erika finds them not such stone creatures and an erotic interlude ensues that was different to anything else I've read.
Definitely give this a good three stars and wished it had been longer.

This book was not my cup of tea. I almost gave it extra 0.5 stars but even the smut wasn't that good for me. It was too weird.
This had so much potential because sexy dragons! There's many ways I thought the dragons could be woken up. This was not one of them. It actually made me a bit disturbed. The romance made me feel nothing, absolutely nothing.
The only characters I liked were the dragons. It was interesting to know a little about how they ended up being stones in the temple. The humans were just sex crazy.
I will not continue the series, even if they were free. No matter how short the book was, I did not enjoy it.

4 stars for the monster genre I kind of put these types of books on a scale all there own. The premise was kind of cool. I love dragons. Lots of weird kinky sex and magic. A few typo/ editing errors but nothing bad. Dragon monster erotica. Its about what you'd expect. Not a literary masterpiece but if your looking for a kinky monster quickie its well worth the read. The dragons were awesome ( and horny) I'd actually like to see the dragon culture stuff more fleshed out and made into a full length story.

Hot sexy and so very original. Well written and extremely enjoyable to read. Love the whole story line and as to how to wake the Dragons. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. My only wish is that they would be put into a box set to make it a full size book at an affordable price. Well written and very enjoyable to read.

I enjoyed this short well done book...so much so that I've got to buy the Sleeping Dragons boxed set, lol. The premise of this book is interesting to me so I need to see what happens. Enjoy it...I did.

A different take in waking dragons :) not bad at all though interesting, who can say no to dragon sex? A quick read, would have been better if just a bit longer.
