The Thrilling Conclusion to the Forager ImpersonatorandForager Trilogies
The most dangerous man in Newhome, Councillor Cho, has been promoted to general. The first thing on his agenda is the complete ruination of the Japanese coastal town, Hamamachi. To achieve this, he makes the genetically engineered Specialist girls undergo an accelerated Custodian training course so he can send them off to war.
Chosen along with five of her biologically modified sisters, Chelsea Thomas is sent on the top-secret mission that will end the war with Hamamachi for good. What does General Cho care if several nearby towns suffer the same fate due to their close proximity to the Japanese town?
But what will Chelsea do when she learns that she will need to abandon her morals and go against everything she believes in to complete the mission? Will she ignore her conscience or defy Cho and go head-to-head against her sisters who are still under his mind-control?
Ethan Jones and Madison Taylor, serving in the Hamamachi Militia, are working tirelessly to rescue slaves from Skel controlled territories in an attempt to redress the Rangers shameful anti-immigration policies of the past.
At the same time, they are aware that time is running out for the biologically engineered girls imprisoned in Newhome. An opportunity arises for them to return home and rescue their kin, but a whole world of hurt is waiting for them should they decide to risk it.
Meanwhile, the chancellor moves forward the date to release the dreaded virus, sending Newhome's twin resistance movements into panic mode. If they don't act soon, theirs will be the last generation in Australia if not the world. But what chance do they have against a totalitarian regime policed by three-hundred brutal Custodians?
Peter Stone, an avid student of history, was reading books on Ancient Greece from the age of four. Periods of interest include the ancient world, medieval era, Napoleonic times, and the Second World War. He still mourns the untimely passing of King Leonidas of Sparta and Field Marshal Michel Ney of France.
A product of the Cold War Generation, Peter Stone studied the ramifications of a nuclear missile strike when he was in his senior year of high school, learning the effects of nuclear fallout and how to (hopefully) survive it. He has ever been drawn to post-apocalyptic and dystopian novels and films, and eagerly devoured The Day of the Triffids and John Christopher's Tripod Trilogy when he was a child. He is also an avid fan of science fiction, and his favorite books include the Lensmen Series by E.E.Doc.Smith, anything by Alastair Reynolds, and the Evergence trilogy by Sean Williams. He also enjoys J-pop (especially Ayumi Hamasaki trance remixes), K-pop, Korean movies, and K-drama.
Peter Stone graduated from Melbourne School of Ministries Bible College in 1988. He has been teaching Sunday School and playing the keyboard in church for over twenty-five years. His wife is from Japan and they have two wonderful children. He has worked in the same games company for over twenty years, but still does not comprehend why they expect him to work all day instead of playing games.
I gave this book a rating of 5 because I loved it. I loved it because of the way love had won in the end. This book showed that when you never give up on doing something that you will have a good chance a succeeding at whatever you are doing. I recommend this book to anyone that loves reading apocalyptic and dystopian books.
This last book in the Forager Impersonator series bring in our favorite character from Forager and Impersonator. Told through the eyes of the main characters from both companion series. I loved these. This last one didn't disappoint. I am a Peter R. Stone fan! Good writing, characters to love and hate, and a few twists and turns in the plot. I give it five stars. I can recommend for dystopian lovers of all ages, though the main characters are young adults. No sexual content or swearing, there is violence.
It was just one I stumbled upon while browsing Amazon and so glad I did.
The world building is very strong and really brings out the Dystopian theme. The surroundings are brought to life and you really get a sense of the different.locations. I guess it helps too that it's set in Australia and I know the locations described in the book. The post apocalyptic plot though really fits in well with the interesting way the locations are described.
The characters in this have always been great though and finally we see the two.series (and leads) fully come together. Ethan was the main character from the Forager series and then Chelsea was from the Forager impersonator series. I loved the way they interacted in this book. For a bit there was a power struggle as they both tried to exert their influence over the other. Then of course they settled into working together although it was always a bit uneasy. The secondary characters were extremely strong too. Bhagya, Aiko, Nanako, Ryan and my favourite Madison. The bad guys were great too and there were some shades of grey characters too.
The plot was strong and tied the the two series threads together. The pacing was good and the action kept coming. So did the twists and turns and surprises almost to the last page.
Highly recommended and a really excellent entry into the Dystopian genre. They are everywhere at the.moment but I really think this series sits up there with the best of them.
Revolutionary is a definite improvement over "Specialist." This is where the 2 dominate story lines of the series merge to climax the ongoing saga in Newhome. The reader will still deal with typos and quirky terminology. The story will be told from 2 distinct perspectives though the writing style remains consistent. I hold a great admiration of the high value the writer places on life - a rare and precious find in a culture of death. Mr. Stone has tremendous potential as he moves forward in his craft.
What a great series? This book catches us up to Ethan and Nanoko and their fight to bring down the chancellor of New Hope. There is lots of betrayal and violence throughout the book. I love the whole series.
I love the characters and how Peter uses them to advance the story. To be honest, i saw the twist in this story almost from the beginning, but it was still a great read. I would definitely purchase this series again!
Good end to an interesting series that improved as it went on. Imaginative world building and the ends were tied up nicely at the end without cliffhangers at the end of each book.
This is part of a series. I've rated the series as five-star and this one gets the same. I had such fun reading this series over the holidays. Pure fun.
