गहरी से गहरी बात को आसानी से कह देने का जटिल हुनर जाननेवाले राहत भाई से मेरा बड़ा लम्बा परिचय है। मुशायरे या कवि-सम्मेलन में वे कमल के पत्ते पर बूँद की तरह रहते हैं। पत्ता हिलता है, झंझावात आते हैं, बूँद पत्ते से नहीं गिरती। कई बार कवि और शायर कार्यक्रम शुरू होने से पहले मंच पर आसन जमा लेते हैं, लेकिन इस नए कॉरपोरेट ज़माने में चूँकि कवि-सम्मेलन या मुशायरा एक शो या इवैंट की तरह हैं, तो शुरुआत से पहले आमतौर से शायर हज़रात मंच के पीछे खड़े रहते हैं। नाम के साथ एक-एक करके उनको पुकारा जाता है, तब मंच पर आते हैं। जिस शायर के लिए खूब देर तक खूब सारी तालियाँ बजती रहती हैं, उनका नाम है राहत इन्दौरी। एक अध्यापक जैसे सादा लिबास में वे आते हैं, जो बिलकुल शायराना नहीं होता। तालियों के प्रत्युत्तर में वे हल्

Few poems and shayaris in many poems are really good. Undoubtedly Rahat Indori is one best living poet.
