Elizabeth “Lizzie” von Klepper has a problem of mythic proportions—she’s the oldest virgin in the world. Invited to perform on Pleasure Island with her best friend, she devises a plan to seduce Solomon, and rid herself of her infernal status. They’d shared a knock your socks into orbit kiss a year ago and that had to count for something, right? Solomon Ventura adores his best friend, Lizzie. She’s been his best friend since their humble beginnings at Julliard, but deep down he’s yearned for her. And ever since he tasted her, a stolen kiss he’d not been able to forget, he cannot seem to stop his mind from conjuring up myriad fantasies with Lizzie in the staring role. But he’s not the man for her. She’s light where he is dark and his brand of love would shatter the only woman he’s ever cared about. After a heated exchange, they strike a bargain, and give in to the temptation the other presents. Except as Solomon capitulates to his desire for Lizzie, he worries that now that he has sampled her seductive charms, he cannot remain unaffected. Can Solomon return to just being Lizzie’s friend at the week’s end? Or will their days filled with music and nights suffused with earth shattering seduction destroy them both?
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Anya grew up listening to Cardinals baseball and reading anything she could get her hands on. She remembers her mother saying if only she would read the right type of books instead binging her way through the romance aisles at the bookstore, she’d have been a doctor. While Anya never did get that doctorate, she graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a M.A. in History.
Anya is a Bestselling and Award-Winning Author published in multiple fiction genres. She also writes urban fantasy and paranormal romance under the name, Maggie Mae Gallagher. A total geek at her core, when she is not writing, she adores attending the latest comic con or spending time with her family. She currently lives in the midwest with her two furry felines.
Lizzie has had it with the world. She just walked into find her douchey, cold fish of a fiancé cheating on her after she'd been with him for 7 years. She may not have loved him, but she was loyal to the man even though he obviously did not deserve it. When she had tried to initiate intimacy between them, he always brushed her off. Now she knows why, and she's finally determined to do something about her pesky v-card. And she knows just the man to rid her of it - her best friend, Solomon Ventura, her partner since meeting him at Juilliard, the man she makes beautiful music with, literally. As she's on her way to spend Thanksgiving week on Pleasure Island giving performances with Solomon for the members, she knows she wants Solomon to make music with her on more than just the stage. She wants him to take her and show her all the things she's been missing as she lived her whole life lived according to her parents' oppressive restrictions. Now if only Solomon will agree to give into the attraction she knows he felt when they had a stolen kiss a year ago.
Unfortunately for poor Lizzie, Solomon is suffering from that good ol' thing men too often suffer from in romance land - the feeling of not being good enough for his beautiful, delicate Lizzie, so when he rejects her, he sets off a chain of actions that he isn't sure he can bear. Well, too bad, because Lizzie is determined to rid herself of her v-card; AND now that she knows a little of this lifestyle, she wants to explore it, so she's going to find a Dom to help her, even if it's not Solomon, the idiot who rejected her not once, not twice, but three times in the lifetime of their friendship.
Gah, Solomon is the sole reason for 4 rather than 5 stars. He was so hot and cold with poor Lizzie that I wanted to strangle him and punch him in the junk more than once. His self-imposed martyrdom was ridiculous and very un-dom like, and who did it hurt most? Lizzie. And she did not deserve it at all. In fact, I was rooting for her to dump him on his ass and take up with Dante and Michael, who seemed more than men enough for her, and who weren't letting stupidity get in their way of training her in the lifestyle. Ugh. Stupid Solomon.
Aside from Solomon's stupidity and me wishing Lizzie would end up with Dante and Michael, though, I enjoyed Duets and Dominance. It's a rollercoaster of emotions, but it's sexy and well-written. I've really liked the Pleasure Island series, and can't wait for more to come.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Pleasure Island series is a spinoff from the Dungeon Fantasy Club series and will have some of the people from DFC make an appearance. Jared McTavish left Scotland and created a BDSM resort on a private island about an hour from Nassau. Many of the members of DFC will have access to Pleasure Island in an exchange agreement. The story is a spinoff, and each book will read as a standalone. They also have people from DFC, but if you haven’t read them, you won’t be lost.
Lizzie and Solomon have been invited to play multiple duets at Pleasure Island for the guest during the week of Thanksgiving. While Lizzie and Solomon have a thirteen-year history together, it has always been a platonic relationship. They both attended Julliard together, him playing piano and she the flute. Being the best of friends while at school, they have kept their relationship just that, friends. Secretly, they each had stronger feelings for the other but didn’t want to cross the friendship line and risk it.
Lizzie has been the dutiful daughter to cold-fish wealthy parents who never showed her affection or loving emotions. She has always capitulated to their demands rather than taking a stand. She even allowed them to make plans for whom she would marry to forge an alliance with his family. Her needs, her wishes, her desires, were never considered. Then when she catches her so-called fiancée with another woman, in her bed, in her apartment, and she calls off the wedding, somehow she is the one at fault.
“She didn’t need bells and whistles and romance. She needed to be wanted because she never really had been. Not by anyone. And in the end, that was what hurt the most.”
Solomon’s life turned upside down when he was sixteen, his mother cheated, his father caught her, and killed her lover. In one night, he loses both parents and finds himself sent to America to live with an Aunt. But his talent with the piano, and their support and a scholarship will land him in Julliard. Having heard that he was just like his father, he enjoys his dominant lifestyle of just playing with submissives, but never getting serious in a relationship.
“Solomon had allowed the ghosts of his past to control his future. And he’d shunned her, told her he wouldn’t touch her.”
The plot will have Lizzie deciding that she is going to seduce Solomon and lose her virginity at the ripe old age of thirty-one. When he spurns her attempt, she will be devastated. Determined that she will not leave Pleasure Island as a virgin, she will go to the club and be introduced to two Doms from Louisiana, but Solomon won’t even allow that to happen and embarrasses her in front of everyone.
“He had destroyed her with his words when all he wanted to do was keep her in his bed and had thought of nothing else but how incredible she’d felt in his arms; how right.”
The story brings out the importance of open and honest discussions. Two things that both Solomon and Lizzie seem to omit, and leads to confusion and anger. Both have strong feelings and emotions for each other and have a hard time acting on them without angst.
I was so outraged by how Solomon manipulated not only Lizzie but even the other Doms at the club. His martyrdom status of pushing her away, to protect her, was cruel and painful. I’m glad that she took the right steps, sought out the right people, and was willing to humble herself with honesty to help clear the way for them. If two people needed each other, someone to love and support, it was Solomon and Lizzie. The story has a great cast of characters and explicit sex scenes. The chemistry between Solomon and Lizzie is electric and sizzles off the pages because there is love.
“It turned out to be worth the wait. He’d always been worth the wait.”

Lizzie always towed the line but when she found her boyfriend in their bed with a model that he had been sleeping with. When Edward proposed it was more like merges and acquisition. Lizzie had agreed not to have sex until their wedding night it had been so long since since she had been touched. A kiss with her best friend Solomon stirred some feelings of heat. She knew her life would be changed she was a 31 year old virgin. Jared took Lizzie to where she would be performing and she spots him Solomon. Lizzie untied her robe and dropped it to the floor Solomon couldn't believe what she had done. He leaves and tells her that he would forget this ever happen and he is not the man for her. Lizzie went to perform with Solomon and she wore the outfit she was going to wear to the club. Jared told Lizzie to come to the club and maybe he could introduce her to a couple of Doms. Solomon realized what a precious gift she had given him. Lizzie and Solomon spend the night together. The next morning she found herself alone she goes to look for Solomon. When she found him he told her that he couldn't be the man for her again. This time she decided what she wanted to she goes and speaks with Jared. The two Doms that she left the other night were in his office when Lizzie arrived. Lizzie told Jared and the doms what was going on. Her heart was surely broken about what had transpired within the last couple of days. Will Solomon see that she was the best for him or will his past dictate his life forever?

Friends to Lovers, maybe? This is book 6 of the Pleasure Island series. Elizabeth is a woman that has been controlled all her life by the people who were supposed to love her. Solomon has been her best friend for 13 years. She has a plan to get this relationship moving past just business. She thought it would work after Scotland but things just derailed. Now she and Solomon are about to perform some gigs on Pleasure Island. Lizzie is sick and tired of playing games with Solomon so she takes matters into her own hands but it backfires. Solomon has a very dark past and he thinks that he will end up treating someone he loves just like his father did to his mother. So, he stays far away from involvements. Except Lizzie is under his skin and constantly on his mind. These two are fighting a losing battle because they both can’t stand to be separate or with someone else. I love the way Anya weaves other primary characters from her other books into later stories. She does it so well and it makes you feel like you know each character just a little better. Of course, this book is adult BDSM themed and yes there’s some hot scenes between these two. I love this series and this book.
I loved this book! I loved that Lizzie and Solomon had a history of friendship for many years although never an intimate one. Lizzie was still a virgin although that subject never came up between the friends. There was that infamous kiss they shared while at the Dungeon Fantasy Club but it was never mentioned between the two friends. Lizzie knew she cared deeply for Solomon and wanted him to take her innocence but Solomon didn't think he was the right man for Lizzie. Pleasure Island was where Lizzie decided to give up her virginity and start living and loving again, she had no real affection from her parents and her fiance cheated on her but never really showed much affection either. That part of her life was ending this week, she vowed she would leave a different person than the one that arrived on the island. Of course Jared ended up playing a role in Lizzie's sexual awakening, he just seems to know what people really need. I can't wait for the next story based on Pleasure Island, it's bound to be another 5 star read for me!
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Elizabeth “Lizzie” von Klepper and Solomon Ventura. Lizzie and Solomon have been friends for years. Solomon is determined to not let one stolen kiss change that. Lizzie has a problem she is a virgin and is desperate to get rid of it. The problem she has is there is one man she wants to give it to and it seems like he doesn't want it. When she learns how wrong she is they propose a week of giving into their desires and at the end they will go home and return to the way things were before. What happens when the two of them find they have feelings deeper than they every expected. Can they find a HEA or will this just be a mistake they made?
This is a super hot book. It has it's ups and downs that I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. Make sure you have something cool near by or someone to help with all the heat this book will generate because you will need it. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Duets and Dominance is the 6th book in the series but can be read as a standalone. The book is well written with characters you can connect with. Solomon is a Dom who has hurts and fears from his past. He wants Lizzie but is afraid to commit to her because of these hurts. However, when other Doms want her, he can't sit by and let others come between him and the woman he had wanted for years. Lizzie is a virgin and naïve about BDSM. She wants more than friendship with Solomon but still needs to work through the pain of her broken engagement, family problems, and self esteem issues. However, if Solomon, her one true love won't take her virginity and commit to her, she may just find someone else who will. Can these two find their way through the darkness of their lives to each Other? I recommend that you come read this well written book that includes, friendship, fun, personal hurts, hot sex, spanking, conflicts, and more to find out. This is one amazingly emotional romance! 💞😍😭💞
This book is so very good! 💖
Lizzie may have everything that money can buy but she has no idea what love or affection feels like because of her chillingly cold parents. The only person to ever show her affection has been her best friend, Solomon. But Solomon has his own issues with love and affection and doesn't think he deserves Lizzie, other than as her friend. But Lizzie has decided it's time for things to change... and so, change they will. The question is whether their long friendship will survive the changes. 💕💓💕
I'll admit that I had tears streaming for the last part of the book... but it is a happily ever after, finally. *heartfelt sigh* 😍
Again, it deals with the BDSM lifestyle and it's many, many variations so if that's not for you don't read this book. But, this whole series has been amazing and this book is no different.💕
This book hit just the right notes! Okay, I had to use that pun of a phrase, but the book really did have all you want and expect from this series. It had a supremely dominant hot leading man with a few flaws, a spunky, yet endearingly insecure leading lady, and the story of how they come together. Add in some extra awesome side characters, a tropical island, and an actual story line to go with the steamy scenes, and you've got yourself a great read. Solomon and Lizzie's story had me reading late into the night to find out how they worked things out towards the happy ending I was expecting. I was not let down at all.

I love, love, loved this one. I have really been enjoying all of the books in the Pleasure Island Series, but I would have to say this one has been my favorite so far. The obvious love Solomon and Elizabeth (Lizzie) had for each other from page one made it so easy to get emotionally invested in their journey and outcome. I must admit there were times I wanted to smack each of them up side their heads in hope of knocking some sense into each of them, but in the end it was impossible to stay mad when both of them were a little lost and a lot hurt by life. I was overjoyed with the ending finding a warmth in their HEA. Great job. Fully stand behind recommending this one for your one click.

Another great read by Any a Summers! Lizzie is fresh off of a break up, from her fiance. Licking her wounds she takes a job performing with her best friend Solomon. They've known each other for 13 years. He's always been attracted to Lizzie, but never acted on it due to his past scars. Being a Dom has allowed him to be in charge of his relationships, and not get his heart involved. Lizzie is determined to finally lose her virginity at the time of age of 31. Her fiance wanted to wait till they were married. Unfortunately for Lizzie, he didn't wait, and cheated on her. Lizzie wants Solomon to be her first. Can Solomon give in to his desires? Or will he let his past ruin his chances for love?
This is a story of friends to lovers with a side of Dom/sub relationship. Solomon has been in love with Lizzie since they met in college, but he fears she is not suited to his lifestyle. Lizzie has loved Sol since they met, but has never really felt worthy of anyone's love. They each put the other firmly in the friend category. Now, YEARS later, they find themselves on Pleasure Island, booked to perform music for the guests, but Lizzie has decided to take a chance with Solomon. The rest you will have to discover for yourself, but I can tell you there are some luscious secondary characters you DO NOT want to miss. Give it a go, you can thank me later. ;D

Lizzie and Solomon have been friends for a long time but all it took was one kiss to change things. After that kiss Lizzie starts thinking that maybe her friend is the one to rid her of her little issue. Solomon has been having thoughts about his best friends. Thoughts that could end their friendship. His "needs" are too dark for someone as sweet as Lizzie. While I enjoyed this story, it wasn't one of my most favorite trips to the Island. The way Solomon "waffled" with his feelings made me dizzy. How he couldn't see Lizzie's submissive side that all the other Doms saw made me wonder if he was a true Dom. Once again communication is key.
I have greatly enjoyed all the books in this series. Lizzie and Sol's story had me on an emotional rollercoaster; from the lows of catching her fiance with another woman and being rejected by her potential lover, to the highs of finally being with the man she has loved for thirteen years and then marrying him. Lizzie's character was complex and relatable. Solomon's character was a bit less relatable because he went back and forth between letting his past control his future and then remembering he was the Dom in their relationship.

This was a terrific installment in the Pleasure Island series. Lizzie may be inexperienced, but once she decides to shed that status, she’s as bold as she needs to be – even when it gets her in trouble with the other Doms on the island. Her connection with Sol is lightning-hot and she soon finds that there’s more to Sol than she thought – now she just has to convince him there’s more to her than he thinks!
So much steam, so much love and affection between these two! They’re my favorite Pleasure Island couple, with my all-time favorite HEA. I couldn’t love this book more! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
As with all the books written by Anya Summers they certainly can be read as standalones but you surely would be missing out. I found this book to be heartbreaking as the feelings between the best friends has been complicated for so long and their journey to taking the next step proved so much more difficult than it should've been.
A fantastic read and addition to the series. I'm yet to be able to start one of Anya's books and be able to put it down until I've gone from cover to cover as they are extremely well written, each very different from the last and you're left wanting to read the next book immediately.
How to persuade your best friend that you want more of him, when you are a virgin at 30 and he is a dom? Lizzie, an accomplished flutist, has known Solomon for many years and secretly been in love with him. Having hit 30 she wants to take matters in her own hands to lose her virginity to him and no other. Solomon loves Lizzie, but thinks she is too pure for him and tries everything to swart her efforts. The story becomes rather tragic-comic at times until they finally find a way to be together. The book is a light fun read, entertaining and well-written. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Lizzie is fresh out of a relationship and wanting to lick her wounds and ditch her status as a virgin. Pleasure Island seems like the perfect place to do it and Her old friend Solomon is just the guy to help her with her issue. Or at least she hopes he will be.
Solomon worships Lizzie for her perfection. She is too good for him and he would never sully her with his lifestyle choices. They play music together beautifully and have been best friends forever and he plans on keeping it that way, but he can't seem to forget the kiss they shared at the New Years wedding they played last year.

A book about lizzie who was in a relationship with a man for 7 years but was waiting for marriage to sleep with him. He ended up cheating on her.
She sees Solomon again and they start playing concerts together, as she plays the flute. She has been solomon's best friend for a while now and has feelings for him. She tries to give herself to him but he rejects her. Will the be together and can she be his sub?
A very romantic and sensual book with subs and doms and lots of pleasure filled moments. I highly recommend this book to read.

Customer Review Sewsummore 5.0 out of 5 stars Tamed by Him 4 January 2019 Format: Kindle Edition I loved this book, the characters and how they came to life within the pages of this book. Lizzie was starved of affection, hurt and alone. Her only true friend Solomen loved her from afar and when Lizzie decide to take their friendship to the next level she is rebuffed and devastated. I loved how she finally tamed her man and was in turn tamed by him. An excellent read and one to keep and re-read again. I received a free ARC copy of this book and have voluntarily read and honestly reviewed this book
This story is very sulking... with hints of mesmerising adoration. Yes I liked it very much, except the very beginning... the author takes quite a bit to explain Lizzie's thoughts and her feelings about her life... but once she is on the island the story moves along quite nicely with her and Sol quickly setting in motion their greatest encore. The story almost ends on the same boat it starts on... I wish there was a story about a voyeur or Exhibitionist and a new sub in this series... I was kinda wanting to read about that scene her two training Doms described but of course Sol got there before the club happened again. Good book
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. Lyzzie and Solomon have been friends since they were in school. They make beautiful music together. He plays the piano and she plays the flute. Now they have a gig on Pleasure Island. The problem is even though they've kissed once and it was delicious , Solomon is a dominant and Lizzy is an innocent. Lizzie's engagement just ended with the betrayal. She just wants to start over. She reaches out to Solomon and gets her desire thrown back in her face. Maybe she just needs to move on. Spanking romance with reference to BDSM.
Lizzie decides to finally get rid of her virginity when she visits Pleasure Island. She picks her best friend Solomon to show her what love is. But Solomon, who is a Dom, has serious doubts that he is the right man for sweet Lizzie. The question is, will he follow his intellect or his heart.
The book is well written. Solomon is such a hot Dom and Lizzie is exactly what he needs. The couple does have great chemistry and the love scenes were very hot and also very sensual. I could not put this book down from start to finish. This is a read you don't want to miss.
The love story between Lizzy and Solomon is complicated as they are best friends, he a Dom and she way too innocent but looking to expand her horizons and lose her virginity. At times Solomon is so clueless and Lizzy so strong that I really wanted her get with Michael and Dante, the two Doms who promised to bring her pleasure on Pleasure Island. I was kinda bummed when Solomon finally stepped up and ruined Lizzy’s pending good time, but in the end, the frustration was worth the wait seeing these two lovers find their happily ever after.
I love this series. All the books are different and each character has his or her own distinct personality. Unlike some series, there is no chance of getting the books confused. This is another great addition to the series. There was a great dynamic between the characters with enough cameos from other characters who have already had their HEA to make it all feel very relaxed. Don't worry if you haven't read any of the other stories as this, like all the others, are completely standalone and will not impact on your enjoyment at all.
This book continues the Pleasure Island series, but is a stand-alone, like the others. The story has an interesting twist – the female, Lizzie, a famous concert flutist, is a virgin at 31 – and anxious to lose that status to Solomon, a concert pianist who she has known as a friend for 13 years. The twists and turns as they develop a relationship and bring it to a conclusion give a good look at their interesting personalities, and there is plenty of sex and spanking to liven up the story. It is an enjoyable story, like others in the series.
WOW!!! A great book and fantastic read. I found this book sexy and exciting. The story and the characters were well written with great detail. This story was full of many emotional situations and exciting experiences that I would love to have had as my own (but don't tell my husband). After reading the book I feel as if I was there. This book is addicting and you will not be able to put it down. It is a must read and I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
I received an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I have never wanted to punch a character more than Solomon!! The man was infuriating and way to wishy washy for a dom. But, I loved Lizzie, smart, talented, determined, and so strong. I was also disappointed in the scene with Sol disrupting Lizzie’s night with the Doms from NO, no one bothered to really find out the truth, it was just assumed the dom was right and the sub was wrong and needed to be punished. Irritating 😠. Overall, a good read, Anya Summers writes really strong submissives.
