Who knew life could change so fast? I certainly didn’t.
At 25 years old, I discover that I have a twin sister who I never knew about. We’ve been raised in completely opposite worlds, but that doesn’t stop us from bonding once we learn of each other’s existence.
However, I’m not quite sure how to handle my sister's adopted brother, Hunter. He is the sexiest man I have ever seen and he is determined to get me into his bed.
If I give in, I will be putting the budding relationship with my sister at risk.
I refuse to give in.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
Dylan works as a hairdresser, saving every extra penny to open her own shop one day. And at 25 it is a good dream to have. But learning that you have a twin sister is something that can throw your world into a spin if you are not careful. Cora is the twin sister, raised by a family with money and given every opportunity. She also has two brothers and both were adopted. While Cora wants to learn everything about Dylan and share her life with her, Dylan is finding herself being drawn to Cora's brother Hunter. Hunter is the type of man that uses women, throws them away after he gets what he wants. And he wants Dylan but he isn't sure what it is that is pulling them together. Can they spend one night together and not get burned? This story was a roller coaster ride for me because Cora had my head spinning. She was all over the place, didn't understand or didn't care that Dylan had to work. Always wanting to go shopping where Dylan hated it because she didn't have the extra money to spend. But I guess that is the difference between someone who grew up with money and someone who didn't. I loved the idea of this story, Dylan dated but didn't find the right guy. Then she finds him and he happens to be her long-lost sisters brother, go figure. But the story is really good and will have you in tears by the end. I need book 2 NOW please.
Ooh, I've been left hanging in the most hideously wonderful way....talk about a cliffhanger. I cannot get my hands on the second part of this duet quickly enough!
In case it's not already clear, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's a journey of discovery filled with tension, angst and drama. It's a quick read that completely sucks you in and before you know it, you're standing on the precipice, craving more.
Hunter is a complicated character. He's loyal, passionate and fierce but he's carrying a weight that could bring everything crashing down.
Dylan is overjoyed at her tender new relationship. Slowly forming a bond with the sister she never knew is her sole focus. Or it should be.
I must also add that the sub-characters are well developed and definitely intriguing. I'd love to see a duet featuring Caleb....there's a story simmering there. Or at least I hope there is. This story holds you captive with the intense suspense the author has created. I really can't wait to read the second book!
Give this one a try, I'm sure you'll be as hooked as I was.
Resisting Hunter (Love and Lust Duet #1) by Rachael Orman 4.5 stars M/F Romance Triggers: Adoption issues I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
Dylan is a hard working woman who has a dream of owning and running her own salon some day. She scrimps and saves all of her money in the hope that this dream is on the horizon. When she works on an annoying bridal party, she is in for a major surprise... she's a twin and never knew.
Cora is naive, selfish, somewhat annoying and endearing all wrapped in to a twin package for Dylan. Cora grew up around money - a very different life than what Dylan grew up with. While Dylan never wanted for anything, both twins are so different.
Then you have Cora's adopted brother, Hunter. Dylan and Hunter are pulled together by some unexplained attraction. You have some very steamy scenes and these two burn it up. But, while you have their romance budding, you have family drama beckoning too.
This book has a whirlwind of emotions stuffed in to it. I loved that you never really knew what Cora was going to do, even though, sometimes, it was annoying.
I can't wait for book 2 and hope that it comes right away!
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
I loved the premise of this book. A twin you didn't know you had and who seemingly won the lottery by being adopted into a wealthy family. Add in two adopted brothers and from the outside looking in, it seems to be a fairy tale come true.
I loved how the author wrote Dylan, how she isn't overwhelmed by her sister's money, her family's importance and how she doesn't hold a grudge against her parents for giving Cora up for adoption. Still, Dylan struggles to find a niche in Cora's world, and its made even harder by her attraction to Hunter, Cora's adopted brother.
As I finished part 1 of this book, I realized the old saying is true: Money can just about everything, but it can't buy happiness.
Omg!! I just fell in and out of with love Hunter in one swoop!! This is the second book of Rachael Orman that I have read and I must say, she is just awesome! Resisting Hunter has all the feels, you laugh, you get angry and then all you do is cry at the very end!! I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book!!
So I DNF'd at 54%. I honestly did NOT like either of the MCs. The h was selfish, judgemental, and a kind of a bitch to her sister. Not only did her sister do something really nice for her, the h jumped to conclusions as to why and jumped down her sister's throat. Her sister was the only one I liked even if she was a little immature. Also, the sister warned her off of her adoptive brother, saying that he would break her heart but the h just kept getting more and more involved with him.
The H was just as ass and a player and I really thought there was some inappropriate feeling towards his adoptive sister. The sister even told the h that he would probably have sex with her (the adoptive sister) if she would let him. Just NO! It was too icky for me.
I was really hoping this book would be better but the MCs were just awful!
Dylan is a hardworking woman who is a hairdresser, and as she's doing a bridal parties hair, the bride mistakes her for someone else. But she blows it off, however, that's not the end of it. The woman she's mistaken for suddenly shows up, and Dylan learns that she has a twin sister. It shakes her world up, but she goes along for the ride. And through her new found sister, she meets Hunter, with whom she feels a strong attraction for. She can't stay away from him, but she's also not going to put the new relationship with her sister at risk, so will she give in? I'm still sitting here in shock about what I just read, and honestly, I'm not sure about which way is up. I know that Rachael Orman has written a very intriguing story that I'm fully invested with her talented writing style, and that I imprinted on Dylan pretty quickly. However, while it's a fast paced storyline, the twists & turns are around every corner, which has left me with questions that have loud f-bombs attached to them. Then, there's the way that Ms. Orman left me hanging over a cliff. It was so bad that I have to add her to the list of authors trying to KILL ME DEAD, while hash tagging her #EVILWHORE forevermore! I'm counting the minutes until the next book in this Duet is in my hot little hands, but in the meantime, I will HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Let me first say this: this is the first book I’ve read by this author and I absolutely LOVE Hunter and Dylan their love story is one full of desire and emotions on both parties.
Dylan still trying her best to understand all that has happened. As lonely as she is feeling she knows it would be wrong to get close to Hunter, but the pull she feels she knows she can’t hold out long.
Dealing with so many emotions between finding out her parents secret and the loneliness she feels, she reaches out to Hunter in a moment of weakness fueled by lust and need.
Hunter trying to understand the pull he feels for Dylan despite the fact that he has a reputation for being a player. His love’em and leave them reputation has Dylan thinking twice about any sort of relationship with Hunter. But is he really like that? Is he really the love’em and leave’em type? Maybe it’s deeper than anyone really knows. I have a feeling it is much deeper and all it will take is the right person to bring him back, I think Dylan is the PERFECT person for him.
Resisting Hunter centres around Dylan, a young independent woman who finds out she has a twin sister....and the struggles that come with such a predicament. Dylan and Cora's upbringing, were very different...worlds apart, as are the lives they currently lead as young adults. Dylan's hard working and struggles, Cora is undecided what she wants to do in life...but has the funds to allow her a privileged lifestyle. Cora has two brothers Roland and Hunter... Although Roland seems to dislike Dylan from the start, it's Hunter who takes an interest in Dylan, from the moment they met you could feel the chemistry between the two jump off the page. Dylan's not the kind of woman to adhere to what one is used to, Hunters used to women falling at his feet.... This story is not as straight forward as it sounds, there are twists which some might find taboo, there's heartache, jealousy and HOT as hell moments. The only part of this book I didn't like was the ending...I didn't want it to end. Can't wait for part 2 and find out the answers that Part one didn't disclose
So after reading the blurb, you kind of get the gist of the storyline but it is so much more than that. It's intense, emotional, sexy, and left me wanting more! It was truly heartbreaking to learn how Dylan and Cora were split up. My chest is still tight thinking back on it. Hmmm...Hunter. I don't think I could have resisted Hunter either. His character's persona just radiated off the pages. Throw Dylan into the mix and my kindle was in danger of melting, their chemistry was so hot. Cora has me so confused. There are so many questions I have about her especially after what Dylan witnesses. Then there's Caleb and the vague interactions with Cora just add to all the mystery surrounding Cora. When is the next installment due to release? There's some major stalking to be done. I need answers. I need to know what the heck was up with that ending. This book whore needs the next installment like yesterday!
Finding your true family is a dream for some, but for Dylan, it came true at the age of 25. She’s been alone for a while, struggling with her job as a hairdresser and suddenly she finds out she has a twin… a sister she knew nothing about. But, her twin, Cora comes from money and thinks nothing of going out for the day shopping, a problem that Dylan doesn’t share. Another problem she finds is her attraction to one of Cora’s adopted brothers. Hunter. He’s all man and goes after what he wants, and he wants Dylan. Dylan feels the pull toward him, but she’s scared she’ll lose her sister if she succumbs to his charms and that’s not something she wants to happen, no matter how much she is attracted to Hunter. She has to resist his charm. But can she? This was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, joy, anger and then there’s the ending. OMG. I need part 2 like yesterday. Gimme Gimme.
*An ARC was provided in exchange of an honest review*
Let me start by saying that Rachael Orman is brilliant!! I love her work and this read is another one that adds to the awesomeness!!! I for the life of me could not stop reading this baby!!! I devoured it and loved every freaken second of it! Dylan is my soul sister! Hard working, determined, feisty, kick-ass, she all around rocks!!! Oh and Hunter.... my goodness!!! Can I keep him???? He’s the epitome of the perfect male specimen. Like holy wow!!! Beyond swoon-worthy!!! And then there is Ms Cora. This chick cracks me up, the complete opposite of Dylan but awesome nonetheless. A total Must-read!!!! And can I just say that I need part two STAT!!!!
One reason I will always pick up this author's books is because she writes steamy romance that is actually erotic. I read her book with certain expectations of getting a story that sizzles and she certainly delivered it with this book.
While there were other things going on in this book, like Dylan discovering she has a twin sister and meeting the family, I always looked forward to having Hunter and Dylan on the same page.
Talk about combustible chemistry! Dylan and Hunter have it in oodles.
They know they shouldn't be together. At least, Dylan tries to resist. But who can resist dirty-talking Hunter? I'm not sure I could. Heck I'm not sure I'd want to resist.
I seriously love this story. I can't wait for more and to find out how it concludes.
This is my first book by this author and I have to say I am impressed. I really enjoyed the whole idea and concept behind it. I found myself fallen into the world that the author created. There was lots of passion but also lots of drama, angst and emotions. I really enjoyed Dylan’s character as she takes things in stride. I really loved how her character played out. Then you add Hunter. Hello sin on a stick. I really enjoyed the banter between these two! Overall, I found this book to be a great start to this duet. Yes, you will go OMG MORE right at the end and I cannot wait to see what finds out in the next one!
Dylan and Cora are twin sisters that didn’t know each other because they were raised by different parents. Hunter is Cora’s adoptive brother and Dylan can’t resist Hunter or can she?
A very good book that kept me enthralled from the beginning and all the way to the end. Not a horrible cliffhanger but, it is a cliffhanger! I was not ready for Resisting Hunter to end! I hope it won’t be a long time until the next book will be out!
I love reading books by this author. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
The author has a unique way of telling a story where that even though there seem to be a few missing puzzle pieces, you still keep flipping the pages to get to the end. The read has a different storyline with interesting characters. There are just two things that got to me about this read. The first is the beginning seemed rushed. A little more leading up to the amazing steamy connection that Hunter and Dylan have. The other is that I have to wait for book two. Ugh! I’m looking forward to see what comes next. I highly recommend giving this one a read. Enjoy!
I hate it when an author stops in the middle of the story and ends the book. I wouldn’t consider this a cliffhanger but more of an unfinished story. Its been 2 years and the sequel (or really the rest of the chapters) haven’t been published. The story is enjoyable, if not a bit frustrating, with the constant miscommunication and things left unsaid. However I would still want to read the next edition.
Ooh, I've been left hanging in the most hideously wonderful way....talk about a cliffhanger. I cannot get my hands on the second part of this duet quickly enough!

This story holds you captive with the intense suspense the author has created. I really can't wait to read the second book! Give this one a try, I'm sure you'll be as hooked as I was.
Dylan works hard as a hairdresser saving as much money as she can to save up for her own styling Salon. Her Roomie Bea has encouraged Dylan to set up an online dating profile. Unfortunately everyone of her dates has been a dud.. On one fateful day a last minute bridal party is booked in the salon. They were a bunch of upper class spoilt richies. The bride to be kept calling Dylan Cora. A few weeks after the bridal party Dylan has an unexpected visit at work by Cora who claims to be her sister.
“I’m Cora. Cora King. I… I think I’m your sister.” Her voice was soft and beautiful. “H… How?”
The girls were twins and Cora was given up for adoption as Dylan's parents couldn't afford to keep both babies. Cora's adoptive family are extreamly wealthy. Cora also has 2 adaptive brothers Hunter and Roland. From the moment Hunter and Dylan lay eyes on each other, the chemistry between the two is sizzling HOT 🔥🔥🔥 Cora warns Dylan that Hunter is one time only type of guy and doesn't want her getting hurt.
Hunter reeks wealth and power Dylan is a tattooed hairdresser who lives day by day..
“I know you can feel the flames just waiting to ignite between us.”
This book is great, entertaining and sexy as sin.
Can't wait for Part 2 to see what happens next. This book has a cliffhanger ending.
Ok this read was not that bad but I wanted more I know there is a second part of this book maybe more to come but I didn't felt Dylan character. but I will still get the next one and see how it goes I hope to get Hunter pov as well in the next installment.
Rachael Orman has laid out a plot that has both unique twists that I've never read before and characters that I can't wait to get to know better.
Hunter and Cora's family dynamics are somewhat mysterious. I never got a firm understanding of everyone's part in the story yet that made me keep flipping the page hoping to find insight into what they do and who they are and how they will affect the story.
Dylan's actions and words didn't always seem to be in sync. Her character struggles with truths that are revealed. She's conflicted between her loyalty to Cora and her attraction to Hunter. She seems bitter from her upbringing being so stifled due to financial struggles.
Hunter is a cocky player with a past that has yet to be revealed (hints were tossed in here and there as the story developed). He's an extraordinary dirty talker! Anytime Dylan and Hunter are close to one another the steam just starts to rise. It's like my own personal sauna when these two come together! They push each other's buttons and take their aggression out on each other.. who knew angry sex could be so hot?!
The beginning of Hunter and Dylan's interactions is very well described, but there seems to be a fast forward in the story where suddenly I feel as though I've missed out on their getting to know each other time.
There are so many lose ends that need tied up to answer all my questions. What's the deal with Caleb - I just know there's a story there! Will Roland get his own book(s)? Will we ever get the back story to Cora? Will Hunter and Dylan get their HEA? I'm anxiously awaiting book 2 to see where they go from here.
