KEEPING HER: BOOK 1 OF THE KEEP ME SERIES

To say I had a rough start in life would be the understatement of the century.

My uncle may have rescued me from my abusive childhood, but he couldn't save me from the neurotic and compulsive obsessions I would develop in my adulthood.

I deal with some of the worst criminals in the seedy underbelly of the world just to get what I want. What I need.

And what I need is the perfect woman. Perfect and pure in every way possible. And I'm willing to obtain that perfection…no matter the cost.

So when I make my newest purchase, I expect Adeline's fate to be like all the others before her --- taking what I want and then never seeing her again.

But she's different.

Her beauty is disarming.

And even though I promised to let her go after I took what I wanted…I slowly come to the realization that I can't.

I have to break my promise to her, because she's mine now.

And I'm keeping her.

SAVING HIM: BOOK 2 OF THE KEEP ME SERIES

I was kidnapped and sold to a monster.

My abductor told me he would let me go…after he got what he wanted. So I offered him my virginity in exchange for my freedom, but he broke that promise. And now he's decided to keep me.

When my past suddenly collides with my present, it's an all-out war.

How could I have ever guessed that my captor would turn into my protector?

I don't know if we can survive this, but now it's my turn to save him.

First of all keep in mind this is a dark romance with plenty of ****TRIGGER ISSUES **** that may make some readers uncomfortable so read with caution.

The stories are narrated in first POV by various characters and they are full of passion and angst. I think the author made a good job by portraying Lucian with so many emotional and character flaws; otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to overlook his numerous acts of possessiveness and sometimes cruelty. Adeline is the sweet and innocent girl that captures his attention in a way that no one thought possible. And when I say innocent, I really mean it, and for good reasons too. In the first book, it was hard for me to connect with and understand her character but I think that was because of everything that happened in her previous life and her current situation. I just couldn’t relate to her in any feasible way. I also found the characters talking too much to themselves and at times I found their inner dialogue a bit repetitive. However one thing I liked a lot was that even though Adeline started as a victim, she never behaved as one and that made her a more realistic character. “Keeping Her” ends with a cliffhanger that I definitely did not see coming and increased the I-can’t-wait-for-the-next-book factor.

“Saving Him” starts right off the bat with a nail-biting situation. At that moment I didn’t know if the story was going to take a turn for the worse but the author only gave us a little taste of what was yet to come. Once things settle down and the connection between Lucien and Adeline grows deeper, things do get hotter and sparks fly all over the place!
In the first book we have a little glimpse of what Lucien did for a living but I was a bit confused because I never really understood how he came to be what he is in now. Here we get to know more about his line of “work” and the person he is when he’s not secluded in his little corner of the world. I thought it was great that the author didn’t just focus on the erotic part of Lucien’s personality and story but also gave a lot of thought to his mental issues and disorders.
I’m on the fence when it comes to Adeline though. She was resilient throughout the story and showed courage when needed but at the same time I kept thinking how do you become involved with your kidnapper? And then fall in love -because c’mon, this is a romance so eventually we know they will fall in love- so I had to look at it from another angle to understand their relationship. What if the story the story of Adeline and Lucien was a retelling of Beauty and the Beast? Beauty was at first trapped in a world where she didn’t want to be but as time passed she realized it was better than she initially thought and the alternative could be even worse, that is, if she went back to her older life. Adeline has the same problem and she also finds out the people she thought was family didn’t care for her and only cared for money and power. The Beast, albeit his dark past and scarred life, turned out to be more human than beast and developed deeper feeling than he ever thought possible. Lucien became that magical prince that saved Adeline from a terrible fate they both had their magical happily ever after. So retelling or not, I was a great read and I’m ever so excited Jackson, Lucien’s sexy cousin, is going to get his own story! He was a riot and the more I read about him the more I wanted him – I mean, to know more about him.

I was gifted a copy of this set by the author however my opinion expressed here is my own.

Keep me series by Angela Snyder a five star series that will have you wanting more.
Keeping her by Angela Snyder a fab four star read. This is the first book in the Keep Me series, and what a book, I am a huge Angela Snyder fan, she writes gritty dark romances that you can sink your teeth into and come out with a mouth full of meat. Although this is book one, there is a prequel called Keeping her prequel, it doesn’t have to be read, but it does give some great background to this story. My only problem with this book was the cliff hanger, but the second book will be here soon enough, just time to read this one and build some good anticipation.
Saving Him by Angela Snyder a thrilling five-star read. This is the conclusion to the two-book series keeping me and what a conclusion, Keeping her was good this is so much better. I can’t go into details as I would give the plot away and it’s such a good story, you wouldn’t want it spoiling. Adeline and Lucian just seem to become deeper people in this second book, the story grows and becomes a compelling read. This is a series that you need to read, it will twist the way you see things and have you doubting your sanity but it’s a read that you won’t forget in a hurry.

Keeping Her

The Prequel to this series is an informative introduction, giving a good grounding for the rest of the story. This is reflected in this first part of the Duet.

Lucien is an expert computer hacker tycoon. He leads a secluded life and has links to the authorities, despite some of his illicit dealings. His compulsive obsessions are extreme, quite understandable in view of his childhood background. Number seven is very significant to him!

Adeline is the youngest daughter of a powerful mafia king. She is groomed to be the perfect princess. To the outside world, she has the perfect life but, it's a completely different story behind closed doors. She is engaged by arrangement to her father's right hand man.

After an evening out, Adeline is kidnapped and wakes up in a strange environment. She is the perfection that Lucien craves! She is oblivious to the reason why she is in his presence and the lack of communication doesn't help. As this is not Lucien's first transaction of this nature, he expects her to be fully aware of the arrangement. He wants what he paid for!

He is mesmerised by her and although, she finds him attractive, she doesn't know what to make of his erratic behaviour. He can be so sensible and yet irrational when his obsessions take over. Unbeknown to her, his behaviour towards her is new to him and her presence can sometimes outweigh his compulsions. He is unsettled by these new feelings and fear that she might just be his new obsession. She is confused about her own feelings and start to question her beliefs.

As the story unfolds, it becomes apparent to Lucien that Adeline has been betrayed in the worse kind of way. This makes him furious and he is now more intent on bringing justice. Something that has been his primary goal all along.

The interactions between Lucien and Adeline can be awkward at times but, there are moments when they enjoy each other's company. He hates who he is and would do anything to be normal. It's not for the lack of trying but he has to be in control! She is quite compassionate and strong, despite her own past and her current situation. Can they find a balance where they can compromise?

This story has a nice flow and the characters are well portrayed. The cliffhanger brings a lot of questions. One of them is, why doesn't Lucien pick up on this awful predicament through the present that he gave her? I look forward to reading the next instalment to see if Lucien achieves his main objective and what the future holds for Adeline. It's an intense and baffling plot that kept me turning the pages.

Saving Him

Saving Him brings this dramatic story to a sensational finish.

Adeline is tempted into escaping and is led into a dangerous situation. What Lucien witnesses when he catches up with her drives him to lose his mind and this is the moment where everything changes.

Adeline starts to realise that what she thought was a "normal" life before she was kidnapped is far from the truth. After what Lucien has done for her, she sees a different side to him and is determined to get to know him better. Lucien can no longer stay in control when he is around her, to the point where he divulges his horrendous childhood. She is horrified and begins to grasp an understanding of his obsessive behaviour.

She feels safe around him and she wants to save him in return. Their relationship becomes intense and passionate, but the backlash of that horrid incident becomes their biggest downfall.

This installment is full of twists and is agonising in places. It's a dark and gripping story. The emotions are raw and heartrending. It's complicated and full of suspense. A captivating page turner which pulls at the heartstrings. Well delivered and beautifully wrapped up.

This is an amazing two-part romance about a love that grows from the most unlikeliest of beginnings. Lucien is a tortured soul who doesn't think he's capable of love. His OCD issues have led him to a rather unorthodox method of sexual hookups, which worked just fine until it didn't. Adeline is so much more than Lucien thought he agreed to, and finding out the truth behind her arrival opens up emotions that he never thought possible.

Adeline, for her part, is remarkably strong and self-assured despite her disturbingly dysfunctional upbringing. Once she figures out the story behind her meeting Lucien, she has to rethink her situation. The story in the first book ends about where you'd think it would, at first - but of course nothing is exactly as it seems.

The second book picks up where the first one ends, and it is packed with more suspense and action than the first. There's plenty of steamy action in both books, but as their relationship deepens the feelings become so much more in focus and in control of the storyline in the second book. Having the two parts in one boxset is absolutely perfect - the reader can seamlessly follow the entire story from start to finish.

This author is amazingly adept at building tension and creating believable emotional growth. The transformation of the main characters is absolutely breathtaking. There are a few surprises along the way, and a wonderfully satisfying HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Keeping her - bk 1

4 1/2*
Lucien hasn't had any easy life neglected until he was 12 when his rich uncle discovered him & rescued him. Adeline is the daughter of the mafia boss she's been promised to Giovanni & whilst it's a slow relationship she's no idea what she's on for! He's not the hero she thinks but doesn't know what he's involved in but has he gone too far this time?
I loved this story & cant wait for the next instalment. I also hope lucien cousin Jackson gets a story as his character is strong & interesting.

Saving him

4 1/2*
Continuing from Saving Her book 1
Lucien had purchased Adeline from Giovanni & her father still isn't aware who betrayed him. Frightened at first she's not sure who to fear & who to trust somehow they are beginning to understand each other better.
Can Lucien trust Adeline not to escape? will Lucien believe & find her in time?
Im now impatiently waiting for Jackson's story Watching Her. Angela doesn't disappoint another full story with a true ending. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

I could not get enough as I was intrigued by Lucian and Adeline's story as they were both well written but very troubled characters that have a lot of baggage from their past and present. Adeline becomes a major part of Lucian's life and he makes some discoveries about himself while she learns some shocking truths. The pair heal each other and find their HEA. There was a lot that happened in this part of there story but at times I did feel that the story did drag a bit in places but I enjoyed this book from the start and would recommend this book to others.

Not impressed with the story

The whole story idea did not work for me. I like dark romance and have read a lot books but characters in this book did not convince me. They felt distant, almost unnatural. The story idea although interesting was too far fetched. Lucian has severe OCD but it borders on wired almost fake.

I won't bother with book two although I got the set of two books. It feels like wasting my time in afraid.

Bitch, you want to literally screenshot my reel and not provide credit and instead block me so I can't see it?

I'm petty and will be one star rating each of your books 💅

P.S. if this is how you behave towards content creators, I can only imagine how you write your books. Likely plagiarising or AI.

Blown Away

This story blew me away. I cried a lot. I smiled, I couldn't pull myself of away from it. Oh, Lucienne. What a sweet, crazy, adorable mess. Did I say crazy? There is no doubt this guy has serious issues and came by them in the most horrific of ways. My heart broke for him. Adeline was so perfect for him in every way. I could see why it worked so well. Luciennes quirks have made him a reclusive. Another of his quirks brings Adrienne to his home quite unwillingly, although he doesn't learn that until much later. A mobsters daughter who has grown up with her own abuses. While not in the same category as Luc, they were still bad. What she thinks of as a terrifying situation soon becomes her safe place. Especially once she discovers who betrayed her. I can't tell you that, but I can tell you to read this story immediately. It's on KU and you won't want to miss it. It's got darkness and sweetness all wrapped up in a beautiful bow.
