Alyana, la petite fille née de l’union de Fall et de Tenashep, est venue au monde les yeux ouverts et capable de parler. Elle grandit très vite et fait montre de pouvoirs étonnants, provoquant l’envie autant que la crainte, des facultés qu’aucun elfe aussi jeune ne devrait posséder. Alors que son père était l’un des plus grands chasseurs de ce monde, Alyana pourrait bien en devenir la proie la plus convoitée.

La'Shaa has fallen. But, at the end of the events of the war we saw Tenashep was not attacked by a horde of ghouls that had surrounded her. Now we find out the reason. She is carrying a very special child and her name is Alyana.
It turns out that Alyana has a huge destiny to fulfill and her unique heritage gives her tremendous powers. These will be needed to stop a terrible power, akin to Titans, from reentering the world and destroying it. Alyana and her strange Orcish protector must travel into a strange world to confront the threat. Along the way we will learn quite a bit about that which makes Alyana "special".
No more spoilers. A very good story, with the usual excellent artwork. This French Comic series is not only a standout for the quality of the series but the fact that they consistently produce quality work. I have yet to find a single issue that would rate less than 3 stars and the vast majority are in the 4-5 range. If you have not read or even heard of this series and you are a fantasy fan, then you are doing yourself a grave disservice. Highly recommended.

Lha'saa is no more, but she left something behind. The child that Tenashep carries hides secrets of old. She's grown in a few days as if she's several years old. She has wings. What is she? The mystery unravels, but it's not fully resolved, except that now Elves have a new old enemy to replace Lha'saa and her ghoul army. While the story becomes a bit cluttered and confusing in the third act, it's another great episode of this fantasy series.

Nice new story but does have hiccups
I really like Oliver Peru storytelling, he is the writer on the white elves arc (Elves Vol. 3:) of the Elves series. He has a unique way of storytelling, the way they span for centuries and encompass time is beautiful. He is a great world builder as well as gives a great characterization for his protagonist.
After Fall’s death(Elves Vol. 13), the author has based his story on Alyana, his daughter. She has the bloodline & souls of some of the greatest Elves as well as lineage from all five races. I like his take on her and the way her story develops.
What I didn’t like was the info dump and most of the story being told in narration style. He does set up the past and present in a beautiful way but at the sacrifice of story flow. I do believe this is going to be the next major plot the series will focus on.
The art is as usual great.

І знову глобальна подія, яка пролетить через кілька томів.
Дуже щільний сюжет, в якому ельфійка з попередніх томів нарешті народжує свою дитину долі, дитина росте не по днях, а по годинах, нею зацікавлюється таємна компанія таємничих персонажів, нею маніпулює дух некромантки з першої глобальної події, а хтонічні сили з минулого рвуться на волю.
Сміливий хід, враховуючи, що йдеться про аналог потойбічного світу зі Stranger Things, титанів та сни, які можуть втілитися у реальність. Особисто я такого повороту не очікував, оскільки в серії були традиційними більш… матеріальні конфлікти. Інтриги додали, так, а продовження аж в 23-му томі. Спочатку взагалі здається, що намішано через край, але потім все стає на свої місця.
Намальовано все відмінно, стиль обох художників чудово поєднався через дуже пряме розмежування, такої графіки хочеться ще більше, але сторінок не так вже й багато. Це вам не манга.
Чи можна читати як самостійний твір? Не раджу. Історія хоч і стосується давніх подій, про які раніше не йшлося, але відсилок до попередніх томів забагато.
Українською? Ні. Є офіційна адаптація англійською у цифрі, за гроші. Переклад з французької порівняно з іншими томами серії ще більш-менш.
Що поганого? Як не дивно, мені сварити цей том не хочеться. Тут немає нічого зайвого, або ж я просто не помітив такого.

POPKULTUROWY KOCIOŁEK: Po rozprawieniu się z nekromantką Lah’saa, można było odnieść wrażenie, że Olivier Péru pozwoli czytelnikom odetchnąć. Nic bardziej mylnego. W Świat Akwilonu: Elfy tom 18 autor znowu wrzuca nas w nową mocną intrygę, nieustannie dodając kolejne, mroczne elementy do znanego już uniwersum Akwilonu.
Kluczowy jest tu motyw tytułowej bohaterki, dziecka spoza wszelkich elfickich norm, które już od narodzin mówi, szybko rośnie i dysponuje mocą znacznie przewyższającą potencjał typowego elfiego potomka. Twórca serwuje więc czytelnikom koncept z pogranicza fantasy i horroru. Wprowadzenie niewinnego dziecka, obdarzonego od razu wielką inteligencją i potęgą, wywołuje u ukazanych tu postaci mieszankę lęku i fascynacji (co również udziela się czytelnikowi).
Péru, znany ze swojego specyficznego stylu prowadzenia narracji, stawia tu na naprawdę gęstą strukturę fabularną. Czytelnik ma wrażenie bycia wrzuconym na głęboką wodę. Nie ma tu bowiem czasu na powolną ekspozycję. Od pierwszych stron akcja pędzi, a informacje są serwowane w zawrotnym tempie. To podejście ma swoje ogromne plusy, ponieważ historia ani przez chwilę nie traci na intensywności, ale jednocześnie wymusza na odbiorcy pełne skupienie.
Obok Alyany swoje zauważalne znaczenie dla historii i tempa akcji, mają również inne postacie znane fanom z wcześniejszych odsłon serii (Tenashep, Fall, Orbotesh). Twórcy wprowadzają również zupełnie nowych graczy. Mamy więc tajemniczą grupę proroków, którzy przepowiadają nadchodzące niebezpieczeństwo, oraz owianego legendą orkelina znanego jako Pech. Łączący on cechy orka i goblina, świetnie wprowadza dużo żartobliwego dystansu w to mroczne uniwersum. Po jego kontakcie z Alyaną czytelnik zyskuje ciekawą mieszankę dowcipu i potęgi, dzięki czemu relacja między nimi wypada naturalnie i angażująco.
Jeśli mowa o warstwie graficznej, Stéphane Bileau po raz kolejny udowadnia, dlaczego jest jednym z najważniejszych twórców w tej serii. Jego kreska tworzy wizualną ucztę, która broni się nawet wtedy, gdy scenariusz zaczyna być lekko przytłaczający. To, jak radzi on sobie z przedstawieniem przemiany Alyany, jest po prostu mistrzowskie. Mamy tu do czynienia z płynnością, która oddaje nienaturalność tego procesu. Każda kolejna strona pokazuje inne oblicze dziecka, coraz bardziej przerażające i fascynujące zarazem. Szczególne wrażenie robią sekwencje snów i wizji. Artyści bawią się perspektywą i kolorem, serwując nam obrazy, które na długo zapadają w pamięć....

It's a cool new arch for the series. The heavy exposition parts take a toll on what could've been a very good story: a pity these guys use it so heavily, turning these comics into illustrated books sometimes. There are some surprises and bits of the storytelling that reminded me of the feeling I have when reading American comics, the Marvel ones...

I liked the story about the kid that was cursed with all the power but doesn't know how to use it. It is using her. Although I don't like spiders, this one was to their advantage but the little kid screwed it up so did Lasha...

A roller coaster ride from the beginning, full of heroics, eye popping art, world building and plot twists and tie ins you won't see coming! :D
