Shebat Legion (Elisha Fraser) is the author of "Vampire Therapy: Chronicles of the Cat's Ass Boutique", a collection of short stories that serve as a prequel to her first novel, "Jackson and Eva." Shebat Legion's works of comedic horror have also appeared in 'Hoblin Goblin' a Vamptisy Anthology, and John Mannings 'Terror by Gaslight.'

Shebat Legion displays a gift for spinning tales, mixing genres, and spoofing sacred cows with poetic flashes of wicked wit, laughingly risqué yet always balanced with moral sensitivity and innovative resolutions.

Shebat/Elisha resides in a small town far from the crush of civilization. She enjoys meditating by the side of her lake and rambling through woods with her beloved canines.

The short stories in “Vampire Therapy: Seasons and Reasons - The Chronicles of the Cat's Ass Boutique” chronicle the activities and interactions of some vampires, along with some Muses who see potential in them. It jumps from holiday to holiday, leaving it obvious that there are character developments and events that occur between the tales. If I were to read a description like that, I'd expect to be frustrated when I actually read the book … but, no, I was quite pleasantly surprised.

I found the chronological gaps (and the development that occurred during those gaps) to be an annoyance, but not a major frustration. For one thing, anything that happened during the gap is explained in the story in question. For another, whatever the activity happened to be typically has little to no impact on the story being told. But, I think the main reason is simply – I grew to like the characters that congregated around Cat's Ass Boutique!! If you like someone, you have a tendency not to notice, or at least overlook any faults!! I saw someone refer to the author's work as “quirky” - that, in a nutshell, describes my feelings towards this book. And, for me, that is a good thing indeed.
