Discovering that she's a witch is bad enough, but when Dylan realizes there are folks who’ll kill to possess her witchy powers— that’s enough to make a girl want to hide out in the back of her boutique. Only problem is, Queen Witch is in town, itchin’ to make sure Dylan learns to cast spells, and this witch won’t take no for an answer.Dylan must learn fast—someone just killed her best client with a poisoned gown meant for Dylan. When witches flood her peaceful hometown for a convention, Dylan is in no shape to protect herself. She's not sure which will happen first--another witch killing her for her powers, or the ruling council punishing her for misuse of magic.Murder strikes quickly. When a witchy gossip columnist dies, the peaceful convention turns riotous. Was the witch murdered for spreading lies, or for stealing magic? And was it coincidence that she ate Dylan's dessert? There is a mansion full of suspects, but only one man who can learn the truth—the hot, aggravating Roman Bane. When the witches are ordered to stay until the murderer is found, Dylan decides Roman needs help, and she's the perfect witch for the job. Not because she's falling for him, nope. She's just being helpful. But to find the killer, Roman and Dylan must navigate a maze of lies, dark magic and old rivalries. With the killer one magical step ahead, will they discover her identity in time to prevent more death—such as Dylan's? QUEEN WITCHDylan Apel just wants to run her dress-design shop, spend time with sexy witch detective Roman Bane, and do her best to keep her crazy family out of trouble. But when the new witch queen is murdered, Dylan is chosen to take her place as interim queen of the South! Shouldn’t be a problem for a strong witch, right? But stricken with guilt after an unfortunate accident, Dylan's been neglecting her studies. Now she must help find a fiendishly clever murderer before someone else dies. Even worse, if she and Roman cannot deduce the culprit, Dylan may be forced to give up her powers in the worst possible way—by dying herself. Trapped in Castle Witch with a wide array of magical suspects and an incredibly annoying wooden parrot, can Dylan and Roman discover in time who is lying, who’s telling the truth, and who’s the killer? Hey, I’m Amy,
I write books for folks who crave laugh-out-loud paranormal mysteries. I help bring humor into readers’ lives. I’ve got a Pharm D in pharmacy, a BA in Creative Writing and a Masters in Life.
And when I’m not writing or chasing around two small children (one of which is four going on thirteen), I can be found antique shopping for a great deal, getting my roots touched up (because that’s an every four week job) and figuring out when I can get back to Disney World.
If you’re dying to know more about my wacky life, here are three things you don’t know about me.
—In college I spent a semester at Marvel Comics working in the X-Men office.
—I worked at Carnegie Hall.
—I grew up in a barbecue restaurant—literally. My parents owned one.

Brilliant

Amy Boyles is an amazing author of Paranormal cozies. I have already read her series 'Sweet Tea Witches' series featuring Pepper Dunn and her cousins, Amelia and Cordelia. She certainly knows how to keep her readers well entertained and thoroughly engrossed to her magical books. Her books are cute, charming, very interesting, offering plenty of twists and turns and humorous. This series is about Dylan Apel, her sisters, Sera and Reid who find themselves in awkward situation. Sera and Dylan have magical powers as they are witches but Reid is devoid of any power despite being born in a family of powerful witches. Dylan has tremendous magical powers that makes other witches wanting to steal her magic and get rid of her. Do read Dylan and her sisters magical adventures. All the books in this series are fabulous.

Sort of like a toddler telling a joke

This is three volumes to tell one story. Yes, there are a lot of red herrings and side excursions, but I didn’t find them necessary. There are some particularly a sty ideas about witches and a pretty unflinching look at human nature. I was thoroughly tired of Dylan by the end of the third book. I have little patience for a heroine that is constantly waffling about everything. Some would read these and think that she finally did faced up to reality. I would beg to differ. She couldn’t accept happiness even when it was offered on a platter. I was grinding my teeth by the last paragraph.

Power

Family secrets start when someone needs protecting, wether they want it or not. Life has a way of bulldozing over those good intentions and setting the truth free. It's much better fending off evil if you know the truth, but why do people think they only need to tell some of the story. Ignorance is not bliss.
I enjoyed the characters, especially drooling over the sexy hunks

A great start

These three books are a great start to the series. They are light hearted books with a murder to solve and a few laughs to be had by all. They will grab your interest from the start and when you’re finished with one, you’re definitely ready for the next one. Very good

Books 1 & 2 were 4's, but 3 was a 2

I enjoy these stories they are funny and entertaining. Books one and two were good, but three was a drag. It took WAY to long to get to the source of Dylan's angst and solve the mystery. I'll keep reading, everyone has a bad day.

I really enjoyed the character development throughout the three books: Dylan has an especially tough time in book 3 and comes through much stronger for it! I appreciate the fun grandmothers and would love to learn more of their backstory as the series continues.

Fascinating

A delightful romp as new witches try out their powers and find their place in the witch world. Lots of intrigue, a trip to Fairyland, and power stealing too. Throw in a budding romance and you will be very entertained.

catty witches. Dress designer Dylan Apel discovers she's a witch, a chain of events is ignited that throws Dylan into a world that is completely foreign to her--one that includes unicorns, hunky ex-assassins, and queen witches.
