Red Hawk is the first book in my new series Cheyenne Warriors. It is a clean Native American Romance during mid-1700’s. A time when the Native Americans of the western plains fought against each other for survival, before the white man interfered in their lives.
The Cheyenne did not believe in women being warriors. However, this is exactly what Red Hawk wanted by his side. When he found a Lakota woman who could be everything he had dreamed of having, how would he make her his? His tribe forbids this, and one of the overseers of the Great Council of the Forty-four refused to allow Red Hawk to join with a Lakota. Magaskawee, the Lakota woman, fell in love with Red Hawk the moment she saw him. However, her father had different plans for her future and promised her to his Head Warrior. How was she to escape her father to join with Red Hawk? It was a time of wars and threats of wars, and the joining of Red Hawk and Magaskawee could destroy an alliance between their two Nations that they all needed to survive. How could they overcome this to be together and still protect the ones they loved?
Red Hawk: Story of a Cheyenne Warrior ( Cheyenne Warrior Series Book 1)
I loved the story of Red Hawk Cheyenne Warrior Series Book 1. It was a delightful and intriguing book to read. It reminded me of some of the things my father would speak of and do. His mother, my grandmother, was Cherokee. It was a reminder that some of the tribes have similar beliefs and traditions, which my father had adhered to. I loved reading this author's version of an era in Native American culture, which showed the excellent research that the author, Linda Walker accomplished. This book deserved the five stars. It made me laugh, cry, and be dismayed and shocked at some of the outcomes. You will enjoy this series and look forward to more, as I shall do.
The great beginning to a great series. This series is a continuation of the Snow Dove Series. I recommend you start with the Snow Dove Series and then go to this series. It is well worth your time if you like good clean romance. Most of the facts in these books of Ms. Walker is true and is well written.
This is a good ,with a great story line about a young warrior who earned the title of Head Warrior of the Reds Shield society, and all of the warrior societys of the Cheyenne people. Then he met ,and fell in love with a woman who was a warrior ,and finely won her heart and joined with her.
What a good book. I enjoyed it a lot and recommend it to anyone who is interested in the Native American life. Give it a try, I think you'll like it as much as I did.
