Mystery writer JT has hidden away from the world on his private island since he published his first novel. Many fans believe it’s because he’s strange or eccentric, but the truth is much darker than everyone knows. After Emma’s very public, very nasty breakup with one of Hollywood’s hottest actors, she needs a friend to lean on. After hitting it off with JT while filming his movie, she takes him up on his offer to let her stay at his secluded place to recover. She hadn’t planned on her troubles following her there, or on being completely charmed by the man.

Jill comes from a large family with six siblings, including an identical twin. She was raised in the Pacific Northwest and later relocated to Colorado for college and a successful IT career before discovering her talent for writing sweet and sexy page-turners. After Colorado, she decided to move south, living in Texas and now making her home along the Emerald Coast of Florida. You will find that the settings of several of her series are inspired by her time spent living in these areas. She has two sons and off-set the testosterone in her house by adopting three furry little ladies that provide her company while she’s locked in her writing cave. She enjoys heading to the beach, hiking, swimming, wine-tasting, and pickleball with her husband, and of course writing. If you have read any of her books, you may also notice that there is a love of food, especially sweets! She has been blamed for a few added pounds by her assistant, editor, and fans… donuts or pie anyone?
This is the fourth book in a series but I hadn’t read the first 3 books. I don’t think that was an issue at all. This is a romance with a mystery and some thriller aspects. It’s got more suspense than most general romances that I read. It was a nice change of pace for me. I love the idea of a writer who lives on his own island and his friendship (and more) with an up and coming actress. JT and Emma were a highlight of this one - their personalities are a perfect contrast for each other. All in all, I quite liked this one. I found it charming, interesting and suspenseful!

Although suspenseful at times, the slow burn was a bit too slow for my taste. I believe there are readers who'll really enjoy this novel, but at 50% in I was still struggling to care about the characters or the answers I wanted in the beginning. It didn't get much better for me. I wasn't exactly bored but I wasn't invested in the storyline or characters' lives as I like to be.
Emotionally thrilling, sweetly sexy, action packed, intriguing romantic journey that is the perfect blend of mystery, passion and suspense.
JT and Emma are the perfect match in every way. He is charming, sexy and very much the quiet broody type, she is sweet, sexy and visiting JT's island a year after he invited her. Highly entertaining and emotionally engaging story about love and family, loved every unexpected twist and turn. I have adored JT from the beginning of the series and was very happy with his story, no disappointment at all here.
JT Whistler, brother of Kayla (HAPPY ACCIDENT) after the death of their sister Lori. Their family fell apart, their father abandoned them, had another family and their mother fell into a depression.
Now a renown mystery writer, he hid away from the world. He liked his privacy but when his first nivel was chosen to be turned into a movie. He knew he couldn't stay hidden away on his private island much longer.
Emma Wilder, a new upcoming actress who got her first big role when JT chose her to play the heroine in his movie. She was dating one of her co-stars but when things ended, she needed a friend.
She turned to JT, who had been more than a boss to her and her castmates. He was a friend, one she could learn on when she was having a bad day.
JT and Emma were both alike when it came to the attention they received from the media and the fans. They liked their peace and quiet. They also were attracted to each other.
When things between Emma and her boyfriend took a turn for the worse, she needed a place to go to where no one would disturb her. She took JT up on his offer and went to his island.
They grew closer and gave into their attraction but life is alwaya filled with obstacles. Emma's unwanted past found her which put the new lovebirds in the spotlight.
Kayla and JT were still searching for their sister Lori's murderer. They met their half-sister (Cora) for the first time and they all came to the same conclusion. That their father was no father at all.
Despite having reservations at first Cora made her place into JT's heart. Loved all the twists and turns that came with meeting the newest Thomas member.
HIDDEN CHARM is the fourth book in Jill Sanders' SILVER COVE series. What a seductive and alluring journey this has been. Magnificent job by Jill Sanders. 5++++
This book started like 4 stars for me, but when i finished it, i think, i give it only 2,75 stars... And all stars goes to JT, the Hero! The heroine was weak, she didnt fight back, she put with everything someone told her to do, to be fake-engaged for 1 year to a cheater... The same cheater who almost raped her, and she didnt punt any charges, is she for real???!!! With every week new sex-scandal on Hollywood... There was some suspense, but i think author didnt know how to tight the knot. Its not so easy to write romance book with good suspense...
This is the fourth book in the Silver Cover series, if you have not read the others yet don't worry, they each can stand alone. But you definitely should check the rest out.
Hidden Charm is JT's story. JT is a horror/sci-fi writer and Emma is an actress in a movie being made from his book. This book is well written with just the right amount of suspense, mystery, and romance. The characters are well developed and you can't help but fall in love with them.
This is my second Silver Cove story that I've read. I loved this story. JT and Emma are great together. It has a perfect mix of romance, suspense and mystery to keep you guessing and turning the pages. This story has so many twists and turns that I didn't see happening. It is so well written that I felt like I was living in this town. I loved JT's interaction with his family. I hope to see more books about this family. It answered a lot of questions as to who killed Lori, which I didn't see coming. I received an ARC of this book.
I have been waiting for JT's story. I was not disappointed. I think this story is my favorite in the series. How could you not fall in love with JT? He lives a quiet life, but when Emma shows up, he realizes that he was a bit lonely on the island all alone. JT knew that Emma was the perfect person to play the lead in the movie adaptation of his book. He tells her that if she ever needs to get away, she can come to his island in Maine. When she shows up a year later, he is surprised, but happy. Someone is either targeting him or Emma, they aren't sure, but someone is coming on to the island. JT is a very private person, that is why he owns an island and can't figure out who is causing trouble. There is still the mystery of why his sister was murdered when she was 16 and then there is another trespasser. A surprise.
I was easily swept up in the romance and mystery of Hidden Charm, even though I have not yet read the earlier books. While I don’t recommend jumping into the fourth book of a series, I wasn’t lost at all and found what I needed to know easily within this story. Yet, now I have to go back and start from the beginning because I have questions that only the entire story will tell me… but that’s my personal reading quirk.
JT and Emma’s story is full of so many emotions – friendship, attraction, trust, closeness and that attraction that keeps growing as they spend time together on JT’s island home. I believed in their reality, and that is important to me in accepting what happens within a book. There is the ongoing mystery of JT’s sister’s murder, a few twists that I didn’t see coming and some very real danger for one or both of them… time spent in this story will tell you that answer.
I’m actually looking forward to reading Hidden Charm again after I finish the first three stories in this series. Why? Because, for me, the overall series tells a different story than just one book out of a series – and now I’m hooked on understanding it from the start. I’ll probably pick up small nuances the second time around when I’ve experienced the others’ stories.
If you’re in the mood for a believable romance, a touch of danger, definitely puzzles to put together and an intense world, then I’d recommend Hidden Charm to any Romance reader. I enjoyed my time in this story, liked the characters and loved the way Ms Sanders makes this world of hers come alive. Hard to ask for more than that in a good romance. Check it out for yourself.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Hidden Charm by Jill Sanders was given to thru NetGalley for an honest review. Jill Sanders in one of my favorite authors. I love her writing style, her characters, and the story she weaves around them. Hidden Charm is the 4th book on the Silver Cove series. This story had me hooked from the very first page. Jill Sanders writes a very believable, romantic story. J.T. is a writer whose first novel is going to be turned into a movie. He picks an up-and-coming actress Emma. They meet at first during the discussion of the movie and become fast friends. After some time, Emma takes J.T. up on his invitation to join him on his island. While there forms a great bond. Both have things to work thru and grow. I adore friends to lovers’ stories. Mix is some spice, romance, some suspense, you have me hooked. Thank you, Jill Sanders, for letting me into Silver Cove world, and delving me into your world of creative writing. Thank you NetGalley for this opportunity to read ARC of Jill Sander’s latest work.
Emma is ridiculous. She is talented up and coming actress who has no problem playing the "poor me" and "my agent wants me to..." rather than taking any personal responsibility. She allows herself to stay with a man who hit her, cares more about her career than anyone and used JT shamelessly. And he fell for it every time. Seriously, that she got all cranky about him talking to another woman pushed me over the edge. And lets not ingore that while in a limo with Mark while he was trying to rape her the driver did nothing and then let her out of the car in the middle of nowhere. Her reply about what happened was "he tried to cross the line". How is it that a woman would write about such a horrible incident like it was nothing? Not sure who was more offensive to me, the author or the main character Emma. Regardless I am done with both. Lastly, JT, I get him wanting to be her protector, but you can't help anyone who doesn't want to help themselves.
Part 4 of the Silver Cove series is JT and Emma's story and every bit as good as I hoped it would be.
JT is Kayla's older brother who came across quite a loner in the previous books. He lives on his own private island, just off Silver Cove and locks himself away to write. He is one of the local ferry drivers between the mainland and the holiday resort island ran by his friend Sarah and her husband. This story begins when one of his novels is being turned into a movie, and he meets Emma who he chooses as the leading female character for his movie.
Again, in this book plenty family love, twists and turns, steamy romance and adventure to keep you guessing who the bad guys are. Loved it.
I live in that part of the world, where island living and private island living is not a luxury, and I know exactly how JT feels about big city living. It is not for me..This novel was slow in its pacing, narrative and character development. I still not convinced that Emma's character has been totally transformed. I couldn't understand why Emma's character, would walkaway from a solid, loving relationship in pursuit of a career that in her own words was unfulfilling. The tension and resolution of who murder his sister was an interestng addition to the plot. I'm coming to the end of this series and I can't wait to see what happens with Crystal.
Another brilliant read from Jill. Wow JT and Emma's story is fantastic loved every word and their love affair is wonderful charming JT who writes the darkest books known is so sweet. Emma is beautiful you know just from a few chapters she just for JT but film producers have put restrictions on her and her co/star Mark (don’t like him). So when Mark gets controlling and abusive she hightailed it to JT island in Maine and sparks fly figuratively and literally. Love the new character introduced in this book can’t wait to read more about her. Finally we find the answers about Lori's murder. Can’t wait to read more from this series
The story isn't bad, but the audio copy I have needs some serious editing. For about 3-6 chapters, I got one storyline, and then it was like none of that existed, and it flipped around. I.e a character couldn't swim and had fear of being on a boat due to it... then a few chapters later mentioned how they loved swimming and had done so many times back at their apartment complex (time span was a mere few days and they hadn't left the location they were at) Another instance... Discussed events that happened previously with the male MC, but then a few short chapters later, the male MC had no knowledge of those events occurring.
This author just keep getting better and better! The characters have depth and relatability that enhances the plot. The plots get more detailed and just when you think you have it all figured out a new twist arises to make it even more exciting. The multi-layered plots keep the story tantalizing and page turning. While you absolutely could pick up this book and read it as a stand alone story, you really don't want to miss out on the series. I'd recommend starting with the first book and reading through. You won't be sorry!
This was a sweet romance with a bit of suspense thrown in. Even though this was the fourth book in the series I was not lost with the story. Although I will be picking up the rest of them. JT and Emma are very laid back although both are in the spotlight at time. Mainly Emma because she is the star of JT's book made to movie production. Just enough drama was added that it wasn't over the top. One sitting read. Great for a summer reading list. I received an ebook at no charge for which I voluntarily provided an honest review.
This story is such a mixture of the good stuff I like in a romance. It’s sweet, yet sexy with enough suspense and mystery to make the plot exciting. I love how I feel like I know the people in Silver Cove; it is such a testament to Jill’s writing. The characters are wonderful, relatable and so well developed it makes it easy to feel that way about them. I love Emma and JT together and he is just so swoonably delicious. I have been waiting for JT’s story and it was worth the wait!!
I loved the hero, but the heroine drove me BSC seriously I "get" that actors and actresses have publicity relationships for reasons although I personally think it's stupid, but after being in a relationship with a serial cheater and one that is posessive of you - BIG OLD NOPE, no matter what the studio or the director or whoever says. It's your life. There was some suspense to this and a found relatative and overall I liked it but parts of it went on too long and I never quite figured out that JT, the hero saw in the heroine.
I have truly enjoyed the ability Jill has of making you feel as if you can truly see the town as she is describing it. She makes you feel as if you actually know the characters and belong in Silver Cove! I read this book in a day! If that doesn't tell you how good it was, I don't know what will .... couldn't put it down and have started Book 5 in the series! This is the 3rd series I am reading by Jill and I have loved every book!

There are too many threats and too many villains. There are two separate story lines - one references a murder in the past, and the other involves sexual misconduct in the present. While the mystery is resolved, the present-day storyline is not brought to a satisfactory conclusion.
This is Book 4 in the series. While it can be considered a standalone, there are many references to characters and events from previous books in the series.
What a wonderful story! Instantaneous attraction, sexy Alpha writer, sweet sexy actress, a family torn apart, secrets, & danger. This plot grew in intensity until the final scene. The interactions between the characters added depth & emotion to the plot. This was another great emotional story from a terrific writer!
Hidden Charm is so much more than a romance. There is suspense, mystery, animals, relationships, family, movie business behind the scenes, and a surprising ending. Engaging story. I would have been happier without the intimate details, but they were easily overlooked to continue with the tale. The publisher provided a copy via NetGalley.
this story is gripping. Jt and Emma story! Jt is a wrtiter not just any writer but full off suspence and thriller motives. while reading this you feel the suspence, heartache mystery and of course the love. tjis is a fabulously written story that leaves nothing out. congrats Jill.
This is the best book Jill has written. Hidden Charm has so much suspense and intrigue. I had a hard time putting it down for work. It kept me on the edge of my seat wondering who was doing it. Emma and TJ are the perfect couple. Fantastic job, Jill. Keep it up.
TJ and Emma are perfect together. There is a mystery surrounding them and it keeps you guessing what’s going on. It kept me turning pages til the end. A really good series.
