TREACHERY . . . Something the powerful Vampire Lord Raphael has seen far too much of lately.

RAGE . . . An emotion that, left unchecked, can burn like the fires of hell.

REVENGE . . . A dish that philosophers claim is best served cold.

It’s been months since the powerful French vampire Mathilde used Raphael’s arrogance against him and nearly succeeded in taking his life. His fury has grown stronger with every day since, fed by new bloody incursions onto North American soil by the Europeans, while vampire politicking has forced him to wait. But no longer. Someone has attacked his home, killing vampires, threatening Cyn. They’ve taken it one step too far, and Raphael’s tired of waiting. His enemies are about to discover that revenge can taste damn good when it’s hot, too.

Raphael and Cyn forever Stars

I just love this series. Cyn and Raphael are just so damn cute together. I love when D.B. Reynolds writes these little short stories, anything that gives me more Cyn and Raphael time. In this book they are going after the European vampires that have been sending hit men to Raphael's home, and people. Raphael isn't going to sit around anymore while these power hunger vampires come after those he loves, he is taking the fight to them. Raphael and Cyn are just so bad ass and I love that they fight together. Relentless not only gave me happy time with one of my favorite vampire couples but it set up the next book in the series Quinn! When Quinn came on the scene I was totally intrigued. Sexy, powerful, smart and Irish I just can't wait to read Quinn's book.

A part of me kinda hates the author for writing Raphael. I'm too in love and NO ONE can live up to him. It's simply impossible. So the truth is I'm gonna be alone for the rest of my life :P I still want to know if there's a list over who is the most powerful in this series....

First read review:
⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Raphael. Enough said.*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱

I'm way too tired to write a review, so I'm gonna do a quick one: I love Vampire Lord Raphael (500 +-?). He is amazing. He's perfect. He's hot and powerful and delicious and yummy and fucking sexy. And no one messes with my man. He'll kill you and he'll enjoy it. And I will cheer on him. I fucking wish he was real and mine; when I now go to sleep I will dream and he'll be mine. I'm weird, I know. I am willing to share him with only one person; Cynthia ‘Cyn’ Leighton (how old is she again?), Raphael's mate. She's awesome. Badass. Great (okay, fine, perfect) match for my baby.
And, just as she’d known his earlier thoughts, she understood what he was saying now. He needed her by his side. Even in war.

Overall, I fucking love reading about Raphael, even though the stories sometimes doesn't live up to my full expectations. But the more Raphael, the better. I hope we get more books of him; D.B. Reynolds please never stop writing and publishing books about Raphael. The world (ehem... me) needs him. And I beg of you; please never let anyone be more powerful than Raphael. That'll destroy my image of him. Shit, this review got longer than I expected... Sorry. Oh and I'm still not interested in the read of the characters when they are not side characters in Raphael's books. Sorry about that as well.
He slipped an arm around her waist and pulled her in for a quick, passionate kiss, satisfying the deep need to touch her, to know she was alive and well and with him.

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (Adult) Paranormal Romance.
Series: - Series, Book Eleven And A Half.
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Lord Raphael.
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Yes.
Would I recommend this book/series? - Yes, at least Raphael's parts.
Will I read this again in the future? - Probably.
Rating - 3.5 (it's Raphael, duh) stars.

5 Vengeance Seeking Stars!

This Raphael and Cyn novella is a MUST read!! This novella picks up after the death of Mathilde. Laurent, a child of Mathilde’s appoints himself as Lord of her territory and seeks revenge for her death against Raphael. Naturally Raphael retaliates and seeks vengeance by taking his fight and his vampires to France to put a stop to Laurent’s reign over Mathilde’s vampires and territory. The situation with the European vampires is heating up!!

 photo PicsArt_1507701567824_zpsgqno2pjq.jpg

There was secondary plot and we’re introduced to Quinn, who was selected and approved by the Council (meaning Raphael) to challenge the current Lord of Ireland to rule the territory of Ireland, which will give Raphael a power base in Europe.

This was a short novella that packed a powerful punch and set the stage for Quinn, the next ViA book. I.CAN'T.WAIT.!!!

You can never go wrong with a novella from one of your favorite paranormal couples and D.B Reynolds does not fail, delivering an exciting, sexy and swoony installment of Vampires in America.

Several months have passed since the attempt on Raphael by the French vampire Mathilde was thwart, but that doesn’t mean the European vampires have kept to their side of the world, leaving Raphael and the North American vampire Lords no other choice but to bring the battle to them. And with a new wave of attacks particularly directed at Raphael’s vampires and himself, he and his beloved Cyn will show their enemies there is no room for treachery.

This new episode in Cyn and Raphael’s lives reminds us of the incredible bond between them. I LOVE reading about this couple whose love is as deep as it is eternal with a chemistry that heats up the pages and partnership that kicks @ss every time.

D.B. Reynolds packs a big punch in this short story and includes an introduction to the next sexy vampire we’ll be reading about in the series. I can’t wait!

Relentless is novella #11.5 of the Vampires in America series by D.B. Reynolds. It is a paranormal romance novella told from both points of view with a happy ending.

This Raphael and Cyn novella picks up after the death of Mathilde and the situation with the European vamps. Mathilde's 'child' Laurent has taken her place, and launches an attack on Raphael. He retaliates by taking his vamp crew to France to take care of unfinished business.

There was also a subplot about the vampire Quinn, who is being supported by Raphael as he returns to Ireland to take up the reins of rule in his ancestral home as well as the territory of Ireland. This will also serve to give Raphael a power base in Europe.

Good story, as usual. It was nice to touch base with most of the Vampire Lords and their mates as they convene in California for business with Raphael. The novella was rather short, just barely topping 100 pages, but managed to pack in an interesting tale; as well as to set Quinn up for his book.

Loved it!
Best of her novellas I have read so far.

More Later.......

Here we are introduced to Quinn for the next novel in this series.
Raphael and the other Lords have had enough of the Europeans.
They decide to take action.
And holy crap!
Do they ever take action!

They come up with a 'Fantastic' plan and put it into action. Not only do they take their enemies by surprise and shock the Vampire world, but they 'Kick Butt into Next Year'!
Awesome suspense and Action!

Oh, and yes, the adult scenes are steamy and hot.

This one goes to the top of my favorites in her novellas!

These are the stories I like more. Even if, should I be honest and not simply a fan, they really really need a stronger world building.
Vamps do not live on their own and it's highly incredible that humans simply ignore them and their wars, above all when hundreds die and buildings get bombed.

A great novella that delivers more Raphael & Cyn time! Raphael shows why he's the baddest vampire lord of them all. Cyn proves once again that she's the only woman who deserves him. Another Must Read in the series!

If someone told me back in 2011 when I first fell in love with Raphael and Cyn that 6 years later I would still be in love and impatiently waiting for Ms. Reynolds to give me any glimpse into their lives I probably would have not believed them thinking my taste would have probably changed in that time. But it has happened and I'm still in love with this couple after all these years. So now to this novella. Those darn European vampires just don't know when to give up. They still haven't figured out that starting trouble with the North American vampires is just not a good idea. So what do they do they attack Raphael, hello not a good idea. Raphael continues to be the strongest but a display in this novella shows that his power continues to grow. Cyn is still her badass self and even though Raphael can destroy with just a thought her desire to keep him safe is still one of her most endearing characteristics. I loved the glimpse of how they plan on handling the war and I look forward to Quinn in Ireland.

I’ve enjoyed all the stories in this series, but I must admit that the ones featuring Cyn and Raphael are my favorites. This novella continues the storyline of the building fight between the American and the European vampires and takes place soon after Mathilde’s failed attack on Raphael. Back in France, her scion Laurent has taken over her territory and plots revenge against Raphael for his sire’s death. Needless to say, Raphael does not tolerate attacks on his people, especially underhanded sneaky ones, and Cyn will of course demand to be in the thick of things.

The action takes place in the US and France. (One minor nit: Raphael’s entourage lands in Paris and Cyn enjoys some sights there. But Laurent’s lair, where an eventual showdown takes place, supposedly is in Nice, in an entirely different part of the country. Yet there is no travel time noted for Raphael, as if they merely were going to a Parisian suburb.) Cyn and Raphael have multiple opportunities to be badass and to have some steamy private encounters, both of which Reynolds does very well and which are highlights of this series.

We get some facetime with a few of Raphael’s allies, including Lucas and his mate Katherine, and are introduced to Quinn who, with the backing of the American vampires, plans to take over Ireland. This will provide a foothold for the American vampires in their escalating war with the Europeans and will no doubt be the subject for the next novel in the series. I really liked what I saw so far with Quinn. He’s powerful, of course, but also quite smart and loyal, an appealing combination. His story, like all the books in this series, will jump to the top of my TBR mountain when it is released.

D.B. Reynolds has once again awed her readers with what can only be described as a thrilling prelude to the next full length Vampires in America novel.

A magnificent precursor to the epic battle looming in Ireland; Relentless tantalises the senses with subterfuge and danger while showcasing the formidable Raphael at his powerful best, and the hidden vulnerability awakened only by his Cyn.

Can one series continue to hold readers in its grip, hanging on every word and desperate for each new book? Apparently it can, as the dedicated fans of this commanding series have proven, time and time again.

Relentless, Vampires in America, A Cyn and Raphael Novella Book 11.5, D.B. Reynolds
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
Genre: sci-fi and fantasy, Romance

I've been following this series since the start, and where some get stale after a while this one keeps fresh and exciting.
The main stories about individual characters mainly focus on romance, within a tight and suspenseful story, building on the overall theme for the series. these novellas tend to either show insights into characters, give us a bit of a lighter adventure with them, or push the ever present threat from others forward. this one focuses on the threat from Europe and the backlash from killing Mathilde.
I don't often read novellas, except when like this one they are part of an existing series, this way  the reader knows the characters, there's no backstory needed so the words are solely focused on delivering an new adventure.

While the past main books have focused on America, there's been a threat from Europe from early on. America being vast compared to Europe, and the European vampires feeling pressed for space, they've been looking at American with envy, and a few have planned inroads into the territory.
Raphael saw that coming a long way back, and thus began his unheard of in Vampire world collaborations with neighbours. He saw that to protect themselves they needed strong Lords holding each area, and that if they were allies that would protect them better. He began working towards that, encouraging some of his Children, and other vampires he knew were strong enough to take over weaker areas.

He's not a power hungry guy, he is a power in his own right, but uses that to protect his people, and where he'd be happy left to his own area the threats from weaker lords, and posed by Europe have determined that he take action. Of course that hasn't gone unnoticed, or without jealous and offended eyes. He's always going to attract envy, always going to be under threat and he feels the best defence is to take the action to the detractors.

That leads us to this book, where we meet Quinn, catch up with some of the other Lords, with Raphael  and Cyn of course, and his key team. Its another exciting adventure, packed into a short but solid novel and I'm hoping it means we get a Quinn story next ;-)

Stars: five, short but packed read, and a great addition to the overall story arc.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!

The cover is another Cyn and Raphael steamy kiss, so it is perfect!

This is a novella in the Vampires in America series. It is book 11.5, and it is for adults only due to the violence and steamy content. I highly recommend reading all of the books in this series and in order because it is just awesome all together and knowing the backstories and lead up to everything.

Both Raphael and Cyn are as devoted to each other as always, and neither will stand for the other being hurt. This book is the lead up to Quinn’s book, and it provides backstory about him. It also provides Raphael with some vengeance regarding all of the attacks on him and those he considers his. D.B. was definitely on her game because I didn’t see several things coming, and it is always nice when it is unpredictable and leaves you surprised though I did scream inside.

I highly recommend to any vampire fans because this series rocks!! I can’t wait for Quinn’s story!!

I loved this novella.
The novellas where Rapheal and Cyn travel, that take place between the full books, are the perfect bridges and keep the suspense and intrigue going from one book to the next. They’re also the perfect introduction to new characters and upcoming settings.
When they’re taken out of their home turf you tend to learn more intricacies about them that you wouldn’t normally garner from the books set in their home town. I love seeing the facets of their relationship along with how the relationships that happen between all of the characters. I think that is one of my favorite things about this series … though there are a ton of other reasons I adore it.
Even though we only got a brief glimpse of Quin I’m curious to see what all happens when he gets to Ireland and settles in. Taking out Mathilde’s vampire was a nice insight into how the European vampire think and make me eager to see how the war will play out.

This started out really good, but then for some reason my interest stated to wane. Which is odd because it's the end that had the most action going on and I really did like all that happened in France. Not sure just how important to the overall story line this one is, but it does serve to introduce the next main guy, Quinn.

So basically one of Mathilde's children decides he'll try to take out Raphael this time. He figures it'll not only avenge his sire, but also with Raphael out of the way the North American alliance would fall apart. Win win. He'll do it smarter though and so he sends an assassin to the job. And he starts out by picking off a few of Raphael's own children. An attack that will not go unchallenged. So it's off to France we go.

During the meeting between Lords it was decided that they would start taking to the fight to the Europeans, and to do so they would need a good foothold over there. Lucas already has vampires over there loyal to him in Ireland on the land of his family that he has claimed as his own. Though Raphael knows Lucas wants to go himself, he will not allow it. So each Lord was to put up vampires that they believe would be the best for the job. Enter Quinn. Lucas approves of him and so does Raphael so it's off to Ireland with him. Raphael's little trip to France will provide the perfect distraction for Quinn to get to where he needs to be without drawing attention to himself.

Is it wrong that my favorite parts were Lucas and Raphael? Their relationship is my absolute favorite in this series and I can never get enough! I just love Lucas oh so much.

Release Day Review! Relentless (Vampires in America 11.5) by D. B. Reynolds

Smokin’ Hot! Cyn & Raphael is once again heating up the pages while shaking up the vampire population. I can never get enough of Cyn & Raphael, these characters easily pull readers into their lives and get you hooked because not only is there never a dull moment, but readers get some red hot sex scenes that have me melting into a puddle as I read them.  The action scenes are just as intense and thrilling as the sex scenes are hot which keeps readers glued to every page.

I love how the author keeps giving readers these shorter novellas in between the main books of the series, not only because it allows me to keep in touch with Cyn & Raphael but it always ties things up nice and neat, connecting things that you might not have connected before. My only complaint is I really hate putting the books down and having to wait for the next one, which I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for, Quinn needs to hurry up on his take-over of Ireland, so I can get to reading his book.

Caso você goste do personagem Nick (Nicodemus), ele dá início a série derivada “The Stone Warriors”.

Vários livros são protagonizados por Cyn e Raphael, mas você sempre conseguirá ver mais sobre os outros casais também.

Cyn and Raphael are back a novella from D.B. Reynolds’ Vampires In America, #11.5 in the series. The European vampires have been a continual burr under Raphael’s saddle. Even after he took out Mathilde from France after her aggressive assault, they continue to attack his people, especially his mate, Cynthia. Cyn is a deadly and often underestimated force in her own right, but Raphael decides it is time to take the war to Europe because they have been relentless in the goal to take over America and harm her. As usual with vampire politics, any operation takes careful planning with multilayered plotting and maneuvering. While Raphael’s instinct is to protect Cyn from all dangers, he knows she will never stay behind in a fight.

This story introduces Quinn Kavanagh who is set as the main character for the next novel. He is an important player in the preemptive strike being set up for Paris. Quinn’s Irish roots and power level make him a good choice to take over Ireland from the currently less than popular vampire lord. This action will give Raphael and his allies a foothold near the continent for the long game they are preparing to play.

Cyn and Raphael make a good team not in only in battle, but most importantly, the vampire equivalent of marriage. While Cyn relishes all the bloodthirsty fun and games, her love for and devotion to Raphael are her driving force. Romance, guns big and small, and high vampire drama with the kickoff to the new battlefield to teach those pesky euro vamps who the real boss is give new meaning to never a dull moment in Cyn and Raphael’s world.

Well, I'm not really a fan of novellas because usually, the most of them don't prove to be worthy of anything, especially, money or reading time. But D.B. Reynolds proved since the beggining she's a master and the way she develops her Vampires in America and The Vampire Wars, including novellas between full novels, always makes them more than worthy.

This latest Cyn & Raphael novella, is full of developments, fast paced and so much action, it was a pleasure to read it and see old friends.

Mathilde started something before that now reaches a point where Raphael and his allies, the Lords of the North American continent, can't ignore and must take action, leading them to France. Yes, our vampires reached Europe and nothing can stop them.

In Relentless we also get to meet Quinn, the next main character in the series, who started here his move to take control of Ireland, thus being the American vampires'first ally in Europe. Of course, he's got me all interested and curious, I know he'll be another fantastic hero in this series and can't wait to see him again and know everything about him.

This novella is about the events resulting from Mathilde’s attack on Raphael. How her death affected her people in Paris, Mathilde’s lieutenant Laurent’s reaction to her death and Raphael’s counterattack in Paris. Plus there’s some beginning details on the N. American faction’s upcoming response to the attacks by the Europeans.

There are only so many ways to describe sexual encounters and I admit half the time I scroll through them. Mostly because they are too heavy, depressing and way too long. But the way these two go at it keep me interested and even sometimes surprised. It’s not just ’I’m the man, so you must submit’ but an equal partnership with both partners impatient and indefatigable for their mate. And their ‘pillow talk’ is wonderful. I love it.

Footnote: 1) If nobody knew until the last minute when they were leaving what about their luggage and Cyn’s shopping purchases? They must have been sent to the plane at some point thereby giving a clue as to their departure. Or are they being sent later in the 2d cargo plane?

Fave scenes: Raphael waking up on the plane, Cyn ending Lucas’s argument, defending the Paris estate and Cyn’s reaction to Laurent’s welcome.
