Since I have watched the movie twice, why not finally read the book?

This book is basically like the screenplay of the movie, but not every line or action was described in this book nor it is formatted like a screenplay. It's basically a narration of the entire movie. It is interesting to go back to this story, but in a storybook format. Other than that, there's nothing much to say about this book. I have watched the movie twice, so I know exactly how the story will go about. Whatever my issues I had with the film is still the same, obviously, in this book. If you want to know my full thoughts on the film: https://boxd.it/2MykBd

There are "(Includes) 8 pages of full-color scenes from the movie!", but it felt misplaced. It should've been placed after Twilight Sparkle got captured to avoid spoilers.

This book is a fun, enjoyable, and easy-to-digest book that I think kids and fans of My Little Pony will enjoy. The movie is still better when it comes to the way it tells this story because there are scenes in the movie that were not described or explained in this book like musical numbers. For those that have watched the movie, it is not required that you read this book, but it is interesting to know the same story in a book format.

i like my little pony, but I REALLY suggest you watch the show, rather than listen to the audiobook. everything I enjoy about MLP is getting somewhat nullified by the experience of an audiobook, none of the colourful character designs, interesting backgrounds or catchy songs...and the narration actually hurt my ears from time to time. how does a narrator even force their voice that high? it actually made me not understand what she was saying at times. no... just no. this did not at all work for me. which is a shame because i had hoped this would help me relax with some familiar stories.
oh, by the way, This audiobook would be almost useless for someone not already familiar with the show and its stories, this book pulls back on character development that was present in the show, but does not at all shine in the book. it is not descriptive enough to convey much emotion in, for example, body language, either.

The book gives the readers what it feels like to watch the movie, but sees what the ponies do off screen. It gave me short introductions about the ponies and it's short and simple for younger audiences. There are many chapters in this book and the pacing is slow, but it gives me more information about the film/book. Everybody really likes this book and I want to rewatch the the show and movie all over again.

I like to add more about this book, the characters are great, the villain is not bad and the world is like an amazing fantasy. The characters designs are very cute, cool, and their personalities fits the movie very well. The world of Equestria in the book feels like the TV series and I feel nostalgic. I really miss reading the film and maybe I can read some other day.

I read this with the kids, I am not a fan of My Little Pony. They loved the story and we had fun reading it because I kept mixing up the different ponies.

Much more faithful to the movie than the comic. Nice to read about Tempest's mindset during the story.

My daughter loves this movie and now the book too. It’s sweet with great messages.
