MC is a hardworking fox god of a well-established shrine. He sweeps the grounds of the shrine compound every morning and even assembles the charms for sale. On the other hand, ML is the water god of the much smaller and rather dilapidated associated shrine with in the same compound. MC can only remember the time when he was just a fox and since he woke up as a god after WW2. The world setting is quite charming, especially with frequent shrine goers being used to the presence of MC. But I thought there would be much more backstory between MC and ML given how intense MC’s emotions towards ML was. There are also 2 fight scenes in the book but they are over as soon as they start. So the books feels lacking as I finished reading it. The best part of the book may actually be the extra story at the end.
