Fuck this book. Seriously. I could not wait for it to be over. My gosh. It's a 240 page book and it took me damn near a week to finish. Like that's awful. Especially when I can finish a book this size in a few hours. -.-

Amelia and Cade dated for a mean ass minute when they were young. Shit happened. People lied. Shit was blown out of proportion. And they broke up. Well, seven years later they run into each other. Amelia is hot off running from her almost wedding and Cade is moving back to their hometown. They both find out things didn't happen quite how they thought when they originally broke up and the romance rekindles.

Well that romance was BORING AS FUCK. Completely boring. And Amelia was annoying as fuck. I seriously could not even deal with her back and forth. I seriously thought I'd get a case of whiplash because of this bitch.

Not continuing with the series. Fuck this book.

FIRST OF ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.........
SPOILERS AHEAD🟥🟥

CADE>>

AMELIA>>

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT IN THIS?

Sex sceeeeeeeeeeenesssssss are........

That firefighter is going to combust your thongs.
SLOWWWWWWWWWW burn.
Listen, this book has TOO much unnecessary detailing, which is why i am calling it slow burn because.....i am not used to 300 pages of reading, usually my books have 200 pages, they meet, there's REALLY good chemistry, they bang...ummm...aahh...make LOVE....misunderstandings...HEA.
But this one here, they are banging through the WHOLE plot, and in the END they decide to be together, they aren't sure of there feelings for each other through the WHOLE book, and that's what makes it.........

Too much useless detailing about useless things which were completely useless.

Separation was.......not needed.....it was SUPER DUPER stupid reason.
The h ALMOST got married to om. But jilted him.
NO-CELIBACY during separation. They were separated for 7 years , and although she was ABOUT to get married to om, she later told the readers that during sex with OM she had NEVER orgasmed(And she was about to get married to him🤣🤣🤣).
They both pursued Other relationships during separation because they had lost all hope of meeting again.
Ex-of h created dramaaaaaa
HEA.
NO-cheating when they finally get together the 2nd time.
NO intimate scenes with OW/OM .
Epilogue has NO kids.

But.....seriously SERIOUSLY guys.......the book is SOOOOOO SMUTTYYYYYYYYYYYY

Honestly this was ok. It was a little repetitive. Also I felt like Amelia being tall(5'11) was this big issue and men looked at her like she was manly because of her size. I just didn't like that. Her height was brought up repeatedly. And she talked about settling her someone who didn't love her because that was all she thought she could have. I don't think I would continue with this series.

While the story itself was a quick listen and ultimately interesting enough it didn’t land the way second chances usually do with me. There was a whole lot of telling me, telling me their history, telling me their feelings, telling me their current set up. There was no show, I didn’t get to see the feelings bloom or burn or fester so I wasn’t invested at all. Not a bad couple hours spent but not something I’ll seek out more of either.

My first time with this author and I am in loveee! This book was full of hot firefighters, a smidge of drama and A LOT of second chance lovin'. I am super excited to start the next book in this series.

Amelia and Cade went from hot and heavy to a pile of ash when a misunderstanding with a jealous "friend" ended their soul deep relationship. Seven years later, she's a runnaway bride on the same day Cade moves back to town. There was a lot of hurt and stubbornness on both parts, but I hated how immature Amelia was. She's a smart girl that threw the love of her life away because of an incident she didn't have the guts to talk to him about.

It was a good read even if I wanted to see the H with maybe someone a little more deserving.

A light, easy read with a beautifully picturesque setting. While the story flows smoothly, it lacks depth, leaving me wanting more substance. I especially wished for a deeper dive into Shannon’s motives—what was really driving her to come between them? With a little more complexity and character development, this could have been a much more compelling read.

Would recommend if you need an easy palate cleanser book.

Second chance romance. Love the way this author writes her alpha-possessive firefighter heroes. There's a seven year separation before they reunite. The reason for that separation was a little silly IMO. Still a good read but not as good as book 2 in the series. Book 2, Slow Burn, can be read as a stand alone without reading book 1. First time author for me and I will probably read more of her books.

Ok by the time I got to chapter 33 I felt like I have read the ending before. Its so odd.

The rest of the book felt new. It was ok, I liked the second chance at love stuff but Amelia being so jealous I just didn’t like that considering Cade likes her so much.

I just wished it was I don’t know so less angsty/drama. The best thing about this book is Alaska.

Loved the narration too.

The story started off pretty good. Amelia getting drunk in a bar wearing a wedding dress, getting into a fight and being rescued by her old high school sweetheart. AT that point I was loving Amelia and excited to get into the story. After that, it kind of fell off for me. Amelia is not the dainty girl next door. She is an amazonian beauty with insecurities. She is intimidating to most men except Cade. He accepts who she is and loves her to distraction. A major misunderstanding causes them to lose 7 years together. When they connect again after Amelia runs out on her wedding, they pretty much pick up where they left off. The story is very faced paced and there is a little angst. Overall I did like the book but I wanted more of the Amelia from the first couple of scenes, not the insecure Amelia. Cade's character was good. He pretty much came in and pushed her back into his arms.

This was a good read. Amelia and Cade used to date. Due to a misunderstanding they broke up and it got ugly. Neither ever got over each other and they decide to give it another try. My problem is that Amelia yet again almost ruined everything due to letting stuff get to her. However, the important thing is that they got it to work in the end and finally got their happy ending.

I enjoyed the two mc in this one; Cade and Amelia. They had a huge true love romance when they were younger but because of Amelia’s “best friend” Shannon something happens and they are done for. Cade leaves to become a hotshot firefighter. He happens to waltz back into town on Amelia’s wedding day where she left her fiance. They instantly connect again but are both too stubborn to talk about the elephant in the room. To be honest that got kinda annoying. They finally hashed things out and are on the right path when none other than Shannon the person who broke them apart in the first place. And you can guess she wants to do it again. Amelia and Cade’s love should rise above these issues. But will it? Will Amelia finally get her happily ever after with the one who has held her heart for so long?

Burn For Me is book one of Into The Fire series of contemporary romances set in Alaska.

Amelia and Cade were once a couple, but seven years ago they had a fateful break-up. Now Cade is back, just when Amelia finds that she can't go through with her wedding.

I loved the Alaska setting for this story and the fact that Amelia ran her own construction company. The small town vibe worked well and the firefighting angle suited the setting.

I shall look forward to more books in this series.

This book wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t really good either. Book is a second chance romance for Alaskan couple. The audio is part of audible escapes and has good narrators (Dual POV) but it’s a bit of a snooze fest.

Seven years ago Amelia and Cade were inseparable. High school sweethearts who had lasted through college. That is until Amelia walked in to their home to find her best friend, Shannon, naked on top of Cade. He'd tried to reach her at first before leaving for firefighter training in California, but she was stubborn. So stubborn in fact that no one was even allowed to speak his name around her without her leaving the room. She didn't expect to ever see him again, but when he came home and she found out the truth the passion was reignited. Will they be able to survive this time, or will history repeat itself?
I was attached to this couple from the first page. I have zero complaints about this book and will be adding this author to my list of favorites so choose from when I start to get in a reading slump. Nothing like a sexy romance to pull you out of a slump! Personally this one is a little close to home since my husband and I were high school sweethearts who let something stupid break us up and it took 5 years to get over it and get back together.

Cade is a sexy firefighter. Tall, muscled, and sexy as sin. He is also the only one who has ever looked at Amelia with passion or ignited passion in her. Amelia is a tall, independent woman who owns her own construction business in Alaska. As such she intimidates most men and the only one she thought she could have was Earl. While there is nothing wrong with him he wants Amelia not for who she is, but to prove he is man enough to handle her.

Do you know that author that can hook you up with just the cover? Well this Gal it the one for me. I've read several books from her and I can't get enough
J. H. Croix has an intense, hot and fantastic writing that will make you burn with desire and so much more...
Burn For Me is just another fantastic book... Jeez, and tells the stories of Amelia and Cade.
These two had the future figured out. They will get married until their deaths threw them apart but things got out of hand and one misundrestanding changed their lifes.
One day she saw what she didn't wanted to see and runaway without giving him a chance to talk to her. She give up on Cade and preferred to go away and suffer alone. The thing is... What she saw wasn't true and that left Cade pissed off because she didn't trusted him so he up and left as well. Years had passed and they lost contact with each other until one day at a bar he sees her.
How can this go? Can they forgive and forget? How can true love sustain a 7 year waiting?
I'm burned alright. Burned because the intensity of this book is of charts.
The plot is amazing, very well written and the interaction between the characters is beautiful, raw, intense and so much more. These two are stubborn as hell and I wanted to enter the book and slap them hard. Everything worked perfectly and smoothly. Ahem... Hot scenes alert. Lol
Thank you J.H. Croix for another amazing reading. Can't wait to start book 2.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This was a great read. I really enjoyed that Croix included in the beginning of the book that this was a happy ending book because I was a little worried at a few spots. We follow the love story that had a seven year break! Amelia and Cade are both described as very very stubborn people and that may have cost them years of happiness. Thankfully they are able to put away their stubbornness long enough to really see what is going on between them and what happen all those years ago. I have to say even though I really liked both main characters, my favorite has to be Amelia's friend and co-worker Lucy. She was so witty and funny and was a true friend to Amelia. I really liked how Croix described her pretty well as a bombshell but ensured we knew she was very much not into looks and dressed casually as to not attract attention to herself. This was a fast read with lots of details but because the story line was so good it made you wish there was less just so you could finish quicker and see what happens.

A love lost then found again.
When high school love was ran off course but neither can truly move on burn for me is the result. A boycotted wedding and a bar fight start off our reunion love and internal battleground of letting the smoldering love burn.
This author's is more addictive than chocolate!

Absolutely loved the push and pull between hot firefighter, Cade and architect/contractor, Amelia. Their perfect relationship was decimated by a lie told by the town tramp.
However, these two are so stubborn that they hold on to the grudge for 8 years. When Cade rescues Amelia on her wedding day, will she forgive and forget or simply run away again?
(Good story but way too many offensive religious references.)

These two Amelia & Cade are sizzling hot for one another. The seven-year separation has done nothing to dowse this fire. Their passion is genuine but can they talk through their issues to make a really strong bond that nobody can penetrate again? You can only read to see. I give this: 5 stars. Free on Amazon. He’s a firefighter, she’s a builder, they were high school sweethearts but let a misunderstanding separate them. He’s home and they are back together. Lots of sexy scenes.
