'Honestly, it has been a long time since I read such a firecracker of a book.' -Rev Dr Jules Gomes, Faculty member for the Oxford Centre for Religion and Public Life
Based on the Biblical conflict between Elijah, Ahab, and Jezebel, these are readings with a punch. These short, spiritual shots are designed to help you grow in faith and pursue revival and reformation. For all Christians, but geared especially for men.
It's the 9th Century BC. The future of a people is uncertain. The king inherits the unstable throne of an apostate nation. Will he listen to the whispers of his royal witch and lead them further under judgment’s dark clouds? Or, will he hear the words of the rugged prophet from Gilead and lead his backslidden people in repentance, revival, and reformation?
Elijah Men Eat Meat is a collection of short readings on Ahab, Elijah, and Jezebel. It's spiritual protein to those who seek to lead themselves and others in the paths of the prophets and turn from the whispers of the witch.
'Joshua Jones writes with the same spirit as some of the great prophetic voices of the last century: David Wilkerson, Leonard Ravenhill, Keith Green etc. Yet the subjects he speaks into are timely for the Church of this century.' -Evangelist Andrew Murray, www.generationbuilders.org
'This book is essential reading for anyone who is serious about putting on some spiritual muscle, isn’t afraid of confronting our culture’s sacred cows and who wants to walk worthy of the high call in Christ Jesus. Chew and savour slowly.' -Dominic Muir, Author of God Hunger Founder of David’s Tent and NowBeleive.Com
Read this book. I am gonna describe the author as a Radical Moderate Christian. And I never realized that that is exactly what I am. I've also seldom read a book that sends me scurrying for my Bible to reread a story or passage as often as this one.
Wish is had been available on Nook. I had to get it through Kindle which means that it won't be given a place of honor in my e-library.
