I’m SO NOT over her sexy mouth. Too bad she has enough defiance in her to hate my guts. Never, EVER go into business with the woman whose heart you shattered. I’ve lost my ever-loving mind!
I fell for Aedon Thatcher years ago, the moment I laid eyes on her. Her beauty, brains, and “I don’t give a damn” attitude were irresistible. I thought I had my future all figured out, down to the names of our children. Then I screwed it all up. My ego, which perched higher than your average Joe, became the monster that ate away at her love for me.
I went from her hero to an evil villain that she ran from. I couldn’t blame her…I hated me too.
Now our venture together puts us in the same place every day. A sweet second chance. Too bad she still loathes me. At least that’s what her sexy lips say. Her body says something totally different, and I plan on taking advantage of every inch she gives me.

My heroes are a bit broken but will make you swoon. My heroines are their own kick-ass characters armed with humor and a plethora of sarcasm.
If I’m not tucked away in my writing den, with coffee firmly gripped in hand, you can find me with a book propped on my pillow, a pit bull lying across my legs, a Lab on the floor next to me, and two kittens running amuck.
My current adventure has me living in Idaho with my own gray-bearded hero, who’s put up with my shenanigans for over thirty years, and he doesn’t mind all my book boyfriends. An interesting story about three best friends, two male & one female, all doctors & specialists in their field. They develop a company geared to aid, assist & deploy at the first detection of a disaster where medical & military aid is needed. This book had my head spinning, very fast paced throughout most of the book, slowing down only to revert back to the past from time to time. Each character had their own story which was well explained by the author, although I would say the majority of the love/conflict lies with Ashe & Aedon. Becoming friends in medical school, they quickly became lovers & then lived together. Their relationship had its struggles as Ashe`s high/low behavior became an issue for the couple & ultimately led to the demise of their romantic relationship. This book is categorized as a romance but there is far more to this complicated story. Ashe struggles with bi-polar, hates taking his meds & an unexpected behavioral issue has his friends constantly worried, looking out for him & questioning the possibility that he hasn`t taken the required medication. I often felt badly for Wren, the third friend in the story. A very accomplished surgeon, he always seemed to be the third wheel. His love for Aedon also added more angst to the relationship between Ashe & Aedon & I often wondered how their friendships would play out. I will remember this book as more of a story about people in the medical field rather than a romance between two people, even though this is also true. This is a stand-alone with a HEA but I`m still conflicted about how I feel about this one.
Action packed, emotional, and so full of excitement that you won't be able to catch your breath!!
Ashe, Aedon, & Wren are three surgeons that form a search and rescue organization. They travel anywhere in the country they're needed when disaster strikes.
This beautifully written story will fill your soul with longing, loss, love, heartbreak, and happiness. It will also make your adrenaline spike from all of the action! The character development was phenomenal! You truly feel like you know the characters. I also love how Kelly Moore can intertwine so many feelings into a story without it feeling chaotic. The story just flows flawlessly.
If you haven't read Mrs. Moore, you're truly missing out. She's an automatic one click for me.
This is the first book I have read by Kelly Moore and it has been a very long time since I have read a book as intense as this one. I have to be honest and say there were times that I really wanted to hate how this story was going along but then realized that it had its purpose so was redeemed later. You are on a ride of an extensive range of emotions. No matter who’s point of view is telling the story, I was right there feeling it.
For me, there are 2 very distinct subject matters melding together. The medical partnership the three doctors created is phenomenal. I don’t know if such a thing really exists, but it should. The whole idea is so detailed and described so well that hopefully, it’s a real thing! The mental illness Ashe suffers with is not unique but a main character having such a serious illness does put a very unique twist on the entire story.
This is a very heartfelt, emotionally in-depth story. It will blow you away. I loved everything about it. It even had parts that made me want to cry which says a lot about the intenseness of this story. Great job!
Blurb: I’m SO NOT over her sexy mouth.

Three brilliant surgeons – Ashe, Aedon, and Wren – form an emergency/trauma search and rescue organization that assists with various medical emergencies across the country. Ashe is the sexy, brooding Neurosurgeon who has some seriously unpredictable tendencies. Aedon is the beautiful, caring, sexy Thoracic surgeon that has some serious baggage pertaining to Ashe. Then there is the sweet, handsome Wren – a general surgeon that is a longtime friend of both Ashe and Aedon but may possibly be harboring some feelings for Aedon. And don’t let me forget one of my favorite characters – Ander, hired as the secretary/Penelope from Criminal Minds that monitors emergency situations and dispatches teams as needed. He’s honest, real, funny, and I just loved him!
Here is where I need to contain my enthusiasm a bit to avoid spoilers, however, this is an action-packed, fast-paced, sexy, emotional, romantic, and wonderfull frustrating story that is a must-read. There are natural disasters, bombings, funny times, and sad times. There is a love triangle, medical issues, and countless instances of these surgeons giving everything they have to help those in crisis. However, the most prominent theme in the novel though is Ashe and all of his various issues. Kelly Moore expertly develops his character showing a powerful and talented man, then a man that is vulnerable, then a man on the edge, then back again.
For those of you that are familiar with Kelly’s novels, you already know how wonderfully complex her characters, plot, and sub-plots are. Imperfect is another shining example of what this unstoppable author can produce once an idea pops in her head. Imperfect needs to go straight to the top of your TBR.
*Very special thanks to the amazing Kelly Moore for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review. (and listening to all of my tons of thoughts and reactions!)
Can three successful doctors work together when two of both them are both in love with the third? wren has loved Aedon since high school. Too bad she's never loved him that way, especially after she met Ashe in college. For both Ashe and Aedon there is no other. Unfortunately, being together didn't work before. Can it work a second time? This was a great second chance romance that featured romance and action as the three doctors responded to numerous disasters. Kelly Moore has created a great story line with engaging characters that you can't help but get involved with.
Ashe founded the MTA Crisis Division together with Aedon and Wren. They are all well known and respected surgeons. Any time a crisis occurs they send out rescue teams to try and save as many people as they can. Ashe, Aedon and Wren are best friends and will do anything for each other. Ashe and Aedon were in love once, but she walked away from him and has sheltered her heart ever since. A lot is being asked of surgeons out in the rescue fields. Will those dangerous times bring Ashe and Aedon back together? Or will Aedon make a much safer choice by returning Wren's love?
Ashe has been struggling with mental illness for a long time. Now that he's taking his medication Ashe doesn't have highs and lows anymore. He feels numbed. The only time he feels free is when he allows himself to be his own imperfect self. It's this freedom that once drove Aedon away. Aedon couldn't handle Ashe's self destruction anymore. They both only had one love and that never changed. From the moment they met their souls connected and they're not complete without the other. Ashe is so strong, but he doesn't give himself enough credit. He talks himself down and that broke my heart. He's a brilliant surgeon and he has such a big heart. I wished for him to finally make peace with the fact that he has a mental illness, which requires him to take medication.
Aedon is so pure and sweet. She's been through a lot, but she still holds her head up high working in a men's world. She's perfect for Ashe. I loved how smart and resourceful they are. Wren loved Aedon even before she met Ashe and he finds it difficult to stand back and let them work things out. They're all best friends and even though there are emotional struggles, they'll always stand together unconditionally. I love to read about true friendship and I connected with the three of them from the very beginning.
Imperfect is an emotional story about an important topic, accepting yourself as you are. Haven't we all got imperfections? I love the fact that Kelly Moore brings a lot of her own medical knowledge into her stories. The chapters about the rescue missions are heartbreaking at times, but they also filled me with the hope that people like Ashe, Aedon and Wren exist and would come for me and my family if a disaster should hit. Kelly Moore is a brilliant and skillful writer and when she releases a story I can't wait to read it. The beautiful way she uses words has me hooked every single time and Imperfect was no exception. I've read all of her books and I'm already looking forward to her next masterpiece.
First and foremost, I love the cover of Imperfect.
The note to the author’s friend about an Epilogue at the end made me laugh. I simply loved the way it ended and it is why I love romance. Imperfect has dark and light moments of an emotional love story.
Imperfect’s love triangle will have you second-guessing the motive of each character. I too struggled to make a decision, just like Aedon. We travel with these doctors as they work in the field of some tense situations. Each time they return it seems to take a toll on Ashe as he grapples with his medical condition.
Whilst reading the first half I really wanted the romance journey to start sooner.
Wren broke my heart many times and I felt such sorrow for him as I always felt he was the underdog. There was something about him that personally, I connected to.
As I read the second half of this story we really get to delve into the love triangle. This broke my heart many times and I could not breathe whilst reading these moments. Most of all this was a hard journey for Aedon as she begins to get such clarity for her true feelings.
The characters keep you guessing right up to the end and there is no unnecessary drama.
The male relationship between Ashe and Wren was one of my favourite parts of this whole story.
All characters are given a happy ever after and this is a wonderful standalone.
Quote: No I’m scared to not love you because if I don’t, I’ll never love another man and my heart will always be broken.
There are a few authors that once I start reading their books I know I have to have a box of tissues beside me and once again Kelly Moore has proven to be able to bring tears to me eyes with the heartache, heartbreak and loss but also have my heart pumping with adrenaline with the action and some suspense, the laughter with some of the conversations and swooning at the steamy scenes w/o missing a beat. A story about a love triangle between three friends, Ashe and Wren who are in love with the same woman, Aedon. All three characters who are doctors form a partnership to start a crisis division to help out at natural and man made disasters, bringing order to chaos and medical attention to people in need during a cautostrophic event along with Ander at the helm of the computers and communications back at their head office. With the descriptions of the scenes at these disasters and all the feelings that flow, the intense love between Ashe & Aedon, all the highs and the lows, I couldn't help but feel like I was right there or seeing it play out in my head like a movie. This story gives some insight to a mental illness but also how it affects the loved ones around them which the author, in my opinion, handled beautifully. Kudos to this author who wrote another amazing story, bringing awareness to a mental illness and who once again played with my emotions and gave a HEA that made me smile with tears in my eyes.
Kelly Moore NEVER disappoints her readers, whether they are huge fans or new to her, her books are always full of excitement, adventure, and love.
Imperfect brings you a love triangle, three close friends that are all surgeons and all love each other differently. Ashe and Wren both love Aedon, Wren since childhood, Ashe since medical school. Aedon loves both, Wren as a close friend and Ashe with her whole heart. They start up MTA Crisis Division as partners and friends all with the same determination, to help save more people during natural disasters. Aedon tries to keep her distance and save her heart from being broken again by Ashe, but they just can't resist each other after a couple close calls during rescue missions. Ashe ends up off his bipolar medication for a few days and enjoys the high on life freedom from them. He hits a low and realizes he loves Aedon enough to let her go and be happy with someone not as broken and Imperfect as him, goes home and takes his meds to bring him back up. He catches Wren and Aedon at the wrong time and assumes the worst. He writes a letter to Aedon, packs his bags, and leaves without saying where he is going or how long he will be gone. A year goes by, Wren gets married to a lady that Aedon saved during a mission. Aedon gets the opportunity to go to Thailand and help a mission there. To her surprise, she ends up in the arms of the man who holds the other half of her heart and soul, Ashe.
Blurb: Dr. Ashe Manning- aka Lucifer- CEO and founder of the MTA Crisis Division, Neurosurgeon I’m an imperfect man in love with the perfect woman. She’s gorgeous, smart, and sexy. I broke her heart. I took everything beautiful between us and smashed it to hell. That was the old me. Now I’m in control. I’ve found different means to feed the adrenaline junkie in me. My mind is no longer free, but my heart is owned by one woman. The one woman I can never have because she saw my imperfections. Dr. Aedon Thatcher- Partner, Thoracic Surgeon I’m a woman in love with an imperfect man. I see his heart and mind, it’s a beautiful thing. I left him all alone. I took everything beautiful between us and threw it away. The stronger me, still loves him. I’m polished on the outside, but uncontrolled on the inside. I disguise my feelings well. I don’t want to love him, but I have no choice. He owns me, even if he doesn’t know it. Dr. Wren Adams – Partner, General Surgeon The man standing between the two of them.
As always a very well written book. I just like the writing style of Kelly Moore. This story line and plot is amazing. The story has a lot in it. It has romance, lust, passion, drama, angst, action and frustrations. There are twists and turns that surprises you and the emotional roller coaster will bring you through a lot. It is fun and intense. The main characters are well described and develops through the story. The one that develops the most is Ashe. He has a lot of issues to deal with but I like his character. All three main characters are amazing selfless people but they have a lot to struggle with. I like this story and feel it could have taken place in real life, for most of the story. Absolutely a story I can recommend if you can handle heartbreak, happy times and sad moments in a story. Do not read it in public without dark sunglasses.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I like to think there are more and more selfless people in the world like the ones I read about in this book. It was an emotional and heartfelt story about three people who all have their flaws like anyone else but are unique and extraordinary in ways I could only process in awe. The plot unfortunately has special actuality with all the natural disasters and hideous attacks we face day by day. I would like to thank Ms. Moore for writing a good story about special responder people who deserve every acknowledgement and gratitude for the self-sacrificing work they do. I liked how emotional Aedon, Ashe and Wren were either when it came to a patient or private life. I liked their dedication towards patients and each other in their friendship. This book wasn't the first I read by Kelly Moore but so far I liked it the best.
This is a fast paced novel filled with action, adventure, mystery , romance and an amazing group of friends with extraordinary chemistry together . Ashe, Aedon and Wren have been working together for years they are all talented physicians that are running a rescue foundation. Ashe and Wren have loved their friend Aedon but one of them may want more than just friendship. Aedon does not give you an inkling that she may be interested in more than just friendship but so we shall see! I loved their respect and confidence with one another and their need to give the others privacy with their struggles but they also wanted to be there for them when needed ! A great story . ~~Michele McMullen ~~
I won this ARC in a facebook competition, great intro for a new to me author.
I should have looked at that other review warning not to read on a bus, I was on a train teary eyed and fogging up my glasses. That poor child, what a situation to deal with. This book centres around 3 doctors who deal with the aftermath of man made attacks and natural disasters. There's a love triangle happening in amongst all this danger, but it's not smooth sailing at all. There will be heart break, sad moments and happy times. This story will give you all the 'feels'. The plot was different to other stories I've read lately. Well written and I enjoyed the characters' journey throughout.
Kelly Moore's Imperfect hit the nail on its proverbial head! I wept for all of them - Ashe for his imperfections, Aedon for her constant struggles to be strong through good and bad, and Wren for being the one to always pick up the pieces. Ashe's battle with being bipolar was so real and honest, it was hard to take at times, knowing that he felt like he needed to crawl out of his skin to be his true self. I loved that they all worked hard to support each other the best way they could, and I'm so glad for the way things were resolved. I also loved the epilogue! :) This was an emotional, fantastic, and insightful book!
Ashe is a Doctor who starts a company with his friends Aedon and Wren who are also Dr's. It a first response company that gets called when natural disasters strike. Ashe and Aedon were college sweethearts that fell apart because Ashe has Bipolar and didnt know it. Wren is a Aedon childhood friend who lobes her and so Ashe. When things move fast for Ashe and Aedon will they be able to keep the love they have or will other things break apart. This story talks about love and mental health and trying to cope with it. Amazing story with all the feels. I received an advanced copy for an honest review
Imperfect by Kelly Moore spoke more to me about unresolved issues that can steal true joy if we refuse to address those issues; she clearly illustrated the intense feelings true friendships produce. Moore uses three characters who are best friends to illustrate how people within our close friendship circles can affect our lives. Each believable character is strong, self determined and successful in their own right; the close friends care for each other deeply. Healing is the overriding theme in most of Moore's books, but she delivers laughs, intense drama and palpable emotion. Hey you gotta meet these characters--you will fall in love with Ashe! Keep 'em coming Kelly. I enjoyed the read--g
WOW! This is not what I anticipated but definitely worth reading. It's a captivating, emotional and intriguing story that was really well written. I enjoyed the complexity and dynamics of the characters. Three friends and doctors who start a company together. Ashe and Aedon are madly in love with each other but he feels she deserves some who does not rely on drugs to keep him sane. So he leaves her heartbroken. There is a lot going on in this intense story, drama and suspense, that you feel a wide range of emotions reading it but it's really well done.
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.*
I'm always doubtful when it comes to a romance with the medical thing - that everything will fight like cats and dogs. And here comes Kelly Moore with her IMPERFECT - here was everything love, angst, tension and interesting mix of plot and characters! I FELL in LOVE with Ashe an Aedon! They seemed perfect outside but no one really is perfect right? What will happen when this two who have great past will manage to deal with it as partners in the field? This was a great page-turner! I need more of them!
From the start my heart was breaking for these two characters who loved each other but weren't together. Just when I thought things were looking up for them, the author threw me for a loop again. She left me full of doubt about how well this would turn out after that with all the obstacles in their way. I didn't want to put this book down, but I do have to eat and sleep. Lol. This was the first book I have read by Kelly Moore and I am looking forward to reading more of her books. *I was gifted an ARC for an honest review.*
This is a wonderful story of three doctors Ashe, Aedon, & Wren who form an emergency search and rescue company. I loved the interacrion between the characters. I felt so bad for Ashe and his mental health problems.Ms. Moore did a wonderful job with this issue of how it effects the person and the people who love them. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions while they respond to various emergencies . I really loved Ander and his personality. The plot was great as was the writing. I received a ARC of this book.
Note to readers: if you read this on the bus on your way to work, you WILL cry and people will think you’re weird. I just wanted to pull Ashe, Aedon and Wren in for a big group hug. The work they do is amazing and the pain they suffer for it is heart-breaking. I knew, when I started reading that I wouldn’t be able to put it down and I would regret staying up late to finish it! Any story that can have you laughing, crying and cursing in the same paragraph deserves 5 stars!
I swear Kelly Moore is trying to drive me over a cliff with another one of her breathtaking stories. I could feel the heartbreak, turmoil, chaotic, exhilarating, passion - filled relationships deep down in my soul & because of those feelings it made this story so worth reading. I would have liked more story of Ashe & Aedon because I just couldn't get enough of them. I guess it has to end sometime right??? Please keep writing amazing stories!
An emotional, fast-paced, action-packed story with a second-chance romance between surgeons...with a little bit of a love triangle going on too. Kelly Moore writes what she knows, therefore the medical scenes are detailed, very well written and seem to be spot-on. Very interesting premise, original ideas. Looking forward to what Kelly Moore comes up with next!
GREAT👍Read! An amazing read that is filled with an endless bundle of intrigue as the twisted suspense keeps you captive on the edge of your seat from beginning to end! A myriad of emotions, enjoyable, intense and heart-pounding excitement keeping you engaged burning through the pages of this quick fast paced very well executed read! An amazing must read!
So emotional and Imperfect! Oh my Gawd this story had me in all kinds of emotions. Kelly did an amazing job with this story. I work in the mental health industry so I see things and Kelly did Ashe's character justice. I could picture the characters and the scenes unfolding. I can't wait to see what Kelly comes up with next.
I thought Aedon was OW but she is the heroine. Starts in present time with the hero stating his mistakes with the heroine. I felt I was being told how wonderful the heroine was instead of coming to that conclusion on my own. Male POV has feminine tone. Unable to connect. DNF. KU.
