“I knew a guy back in Peoria that useta look through the Peoria classified at what's for sale so it would give em an idea of what he should steal for the day. That's how this guy made it, stealin shit. Sometimes he'd even steal the shit that was in the papers, the same shit advertised. I don't know how he did it, I didn't know the guy that well. But he really made it. It made me think of sometimes what there was in this fuckin town to steal .... without lookin in newspapers. Or with em, that's why I thought it would be a good idea to have some classifieds of a newspaper, ta have somethin ta go on. I mean I just wanted some ideas of what there even was in this town. I pulled off a couplea heists in my, past, but not often, only when it really got, necessary. If ya want my opinion I needed somethin only to gimme an idea of where ta get some stuff, like a gun, like that. If I had something, a gun, somethin, I could maybe find somethin to do with it, then I'd know whatta do ... like this guy oveh here with his suit... He hadda gun. He was tryina get his. Maybe I should tryta get mine. I said to myself, where could I get a gun? I could maybe go ta some pawn shop an pawn somethin for ah gun. What could I pawn... what did I have to pawn ... I could go to the pawnshop and after I pawned somethin for ah gun, I could go back to there an hold up that same pawnshop. Hah. That was a laugh. That was a killer. I could pixture some poor old crum bum workin inna pawn shop gettin held up by some guy he sold a gun to. Jeez... that'ud be like gettin laid by your mother.”
