My only rule? Never get involved with the dancers. I’m in charge at The Pink Pouch, and my rules are keep the girls safe and never sleep with them. Watching sexy, curvy women dance is every man’s dream, and mine’s no different. But when Melanie walks in, everything that has been forbidden is more desirable now than ever before. I’ve known her since she was just a girl wearing her seashell bikini top, but she’s traded in seashells for tassled pasties; yet, I’m the one hanging from a string. The more I watch her hips sway around the pole, the more I realize that I’m completely screwed.

Off Limits is a sugary sweet romance. Melanie is a single mom working at a diner when she sees the guy she had a crush on in high school. He overhears her talking about needing to make more money, and ends up offering her a job at the strip club he and his sister own. She shows up not realizing what kind of place it is and is taken aback. But, she needs the money and takes the job as a cocktail waitress. Soon enough, though, she becomes a dancer once she realizes how much more she can make. And soon enough, she and Chase are heading down the path of breaking his and his sister's ironclad rules about no fraternizing with the employees.

Throw in a little drama with Melanie's sleazy ex, and you have a sweet, lightly sexy romance. I say lightly because this is a very slow burn type of story. They don't even get together until almost the end. Before that there's lots of dancing around each other (pun intended), with the sexual tension just dying to spark.

If you like your romances sweet as candy then Off Limits should be on your TBR list.

Don't mess with the dancers. The main rule for everyone in the club. But sometimes it is so fun to break the rules. This book is about Chase and Melanie and their romance. It is a slower burn book, but not in a bad way at all. I really enjoyed this book and was happy to read it. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

I really loved this book! Ms. Ward is an amazing author. She gets you hooked from the first page. I could not put this book down. Melanie is like half the women in the world, trying to make it on her own with a child. Chase co-owns a gentlemen's club with his sister. After running into her at the diner she works at, Chase offers her a job. Let the scorching chemistry begin. This was such a wonderful love story. Everyone who knows Ms. Ward will smile at the Evelyn reference she makes in this book. If you want a truly down to earth book, make sure you get this one. You will love it!

I give this book 4 stars. This book was a good read. It has lust, suspense, emotional triumphs, a crazy Ex-husband, a cute little guy named Cam, betrayal, thrill, love, some abuse and a HEA ending. Melanie and Chase grow up together and met at her job, where offers her a better paying job. I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

4.5 Stars - Recommend - Steamy Contemporary Romance

This story is about two people that grew up in the same area and went to High School together. They both had secret crushes on one another, although neither acted upon it due to running in different social circles at the time. They meet again when Chase Taylor comes into the diner Melanie Parker is working at after his morning run.

This story does contain adult language, violence / talk of abuse, and adult intimate scenes and/or fantasies. If you are offended by these types of situations, then this may not be the book for you.

Chase is co-owner of The Pink Pouch, an upscale gentlemen's club, with his sister Abby in Cahokia Illinois, outside St. Louis. They have multiple policies and rules about dating at the Club, including no fraternizing / dating with co-workers or clients. Abby wanted these rules since Chase has always been a player and she doesn't want to lose their help or face a lawsuit.

Chase has never had an issue with these rules until Melanie came to work there as a cocktail waitress. He might have initially spoke about the job because he wanted to help someone from his past, but he really did have an open position. He made the offer while he was at the diner that morning after he overheard Melanie and the other waitress, Jo, talking about how she needed the money since her ex-husband didn't support her or their son. Plus he knew she would fit in with the ladies there, who all looked out for one another and were like a family in a lot of ways.

Melanie was surprised when she showed up for her interview with Chase to find that it wasn't a restaurant or a bar. He had told her it was a cocktail waitressing position, but she hadn't connected that to a strip club. Then it was Chase's turn to be surprised after he formally offered Melanie the job, as she told him that if she accepted she was planning to work both places. It was obvious that she was struggling to make a decision on whether or not to work there, despite Chase's standard speech, so he told her to think about it and let him know when she wanted to be added to the schedule. He was trying to be confident that she would take the job, but dreaded it too because of his attraction to her.

Melanie thought about it for a few days and was struggling to accept the job for a couple of reasons. She didn't want to impact her son and she wasn't sure about working in a strip club, plus she wasn't sure about leaving the full-time job she had at the diner. They had given her a job when no one else would and she didn't feel right leaving Jo in the lurch. Ann, her best friend and Cam's babysitter, helped her make some peace with the decision, especially after she seen how much she could make. She also loaned her clothes that she could wear to the Club after realizing that Garrett must have gotten rid of, or destroyed, her party or sexier type of clothes after she got pregnant.

The primary driver for Melanie to call and accept when she did was she needed a lot of money quick to try and save their home after receiving a foreclosure notice. She just had to do everything she could to keep their house. Right after the divorce Melanie put the small amount received on the house for her and Cam. It took her a long time to furnish it and finish decorating to make it into the warm and comfortable home it is today.

A few people thought she should go after her ex for back child support, but she didn't want anything to do with him. She was perfectly fine with him not seeing Cam, as Garrett was not the type of man she wanted as a role model for her son. So she needed to accept the job with Chase, as there wasn't another way to make the money she needed.

Melanie started training with Alyssa that same night. During her break Melanie gave one of the ladies dancing there a mini makeover. She looked so good that the next night Melanie worked, Sapphire, the top dancer at the club, asked her to do a quick makeover for her. They talked about a couple of things, then she told Melanie that she should audition to be a dancer on their amateur night competition. Melanie was very hesitant, then Sapphire explained the amount of money to be made, and said she would teach her an old routine she had and loan her an outfit, if wanted. Melanie said she would think about it and let her know. She asked a couple of other dancers and they encourage her. Then Chase overheard the last part of a conversation about it and was curious as to what they were discussing. Melanie told him, and after he thought about it for a moment, he discouraged her. This only made her want to find the guts to do it that much more.

Things were going well until she started receiving texts from her ex. He said that she better not be working where he heard she was, the next few times it was about how she better quit and not make him come up there, etc. I am going to stop there so I don't accidentally give away any spoilers.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book was bubble gum wrapped in cotton candy and sprinkled liberally with glittery powdered sugar. It was so sweet I think I got a cavity. Please understand I don’t mind sweet at all. This book promised something a little more titillating or a slightly naughtier element but it was sweet with mild heat.

This is my second book by this author and I am not sure if they are trying to offset the insta-romances of some of the newer books but when its 64% and your two main characters are still dancing around the does she like me, does he like me question then that’s drawing out the suspense a bit much. Now you have 36% of a book for them to get together, have the break up and make up scenario to then have the promised HEA ending. That means a flurry of activity as we race towards the end of the book.

Melanie is a single mom working one job at a diner and thinking of getting a second job to try and make ends meet for her and her son after a nasty divorce. While working at the diner she runs into an old high school crush Chase. He over hears her talking to another waitperson about taking on a second job and offers her one at his establishment. He is co-owner of a gentleman’s club called “The Pink Pouch” he offers her a position as a cocktail waitress.

Melanie is unaware of what type of place it is until she goes for her orientation meeting with Chase. She is at first reluctant to take the job because she is afraid of what it might do to her reputation. Chase assures her that she is perfectly safe and he wouldn’t let anything happen to her. After a lot of soul searching and an assist with a foreclosure notice by the bank Melanie agrees to give the cocktail waitressing job a try.

Chase has a rule that was instituted by his sister, which is to stay away from the girls that work there. He is not allowed to date or have any carnal contact with any of them. It never was a problem before now that Melanie is working there and their budding attraction to each other is coming to the surface Chase may be putting that rule to the test.

So here are the things that I really liked about the book. Melanie was super naive with her ex and allowed him to isolate her from her friends and family until he was her only support system. Since the divorce she has rediscovered an inner strength and has thoughts of starting her own salon business.

While Chase was described as a womanizer in his past life and with dealings with some of the ladies that work at his club we don’t really see that at all. He comes across very protective of his female employees and will not tolerate anyone doing anything to upset or take advantage of them to include doing some back room justice. He’s super protective of Melanie and is very concerned with her and her son.

The ladies at the club all took Melanie under their wing and totally fell in love with her and there was a great sisterhood among the ladies.

Why the book left an over sweet taste for me; Everyone with the exception of her ex and Chase’s sister was totally in love with Melanie. I mean not one of the ladies at the club was in the least bit jealous or envious? Lets be for real now one person will generally feel that the new girl is getting too much attention and be a bit snippy for a little while till the pecking order is established.

Everything went smoothly for Melanie once she met Chase it was like she was on a pretty princess day and nothing would keep this fantasy from happening. The two bitter licorice pieces her ex and Chase’s sister were dealt with pretty quickly and any drama from both of them was removed post haste. Then she and Chase went into full blown “I love you”, “No I love you more” mode and they lived happily ever after and all of her dreams of opening her own place happened etc…

Like I said I don’t mind sweet, but the characters have to have something happen for us to get drawn into their world and want to champion them through their distress and triumph. This story was sweet, with hot fudge, smothered in whipped cream with a massive cherry on top.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Book Sprout and I am leaving a voluntary review.

Melanie is trying desperately to make ends meet, behind on her bills, a little boy to take care of all by herself. The money is not going to come in as long as the diner she is working in is constantly slow. That is until the day he walked in and sat at a table she waits on. Mel's life is about to change - big.

Cam knew her is school, the only reason he didn't talk to her back then was because of what the others would say. Those others include his sister. Now as the half owner of a nightclub, he makes his own rules. He overhears her with a coworker, and offers her a job in his nightclub. Now he has to decide if his rule should be broken or not.

When Cam asked Melanie to come work for him, it was partially due to his overhearing her conversation with a coworker. The other half was because now he can be near her like he has really wanted for a long time. He is a bit surprised when she decides to take the job. Melanie is a hit, the dancers and the other girls love her. There is also another plus of having Melanie there, he love doing makeup and hair. The dancers love that too. Things fall into a great routine, Cam cannot keep his eyes off of Melanie, the dancers love what she can do with makeup and hair.

One dancer suggests Melanie make even more money with this club, by dancing. All of a sudden out of the blue Mel's ex is back. He was abusive and a cheat. His texts are getting more possessive and agitated towards her. Mel informs Cam about this. She now has the girls, Zeke (the doorman) and Cam watching her back. Things keep on the track they have started on, until one night. Mel spots Garrett (the ex) and things happen. Just as things are about to get completely out of control, Cam shows up and Garrett is not giving up without a fight. Fight it is then, and it does happen, the cops come, and now the extra good things start to happen.

Melanie and Cam really heat up, and allow the heat to ignite. There are little surprises that happen throughout the book, the sister (the other half owner of the club) has an interesting bit weaved into the whole thing. There is an introduction to passion, and to her son and good friend. There is also all the other parts that lead up to the way this book ends, giving these two, rather three, a very happy ending with a possibility of more to their story in the future.

Did you look at the cover? No? Look again. Okay, now wipe your mouth, what were you thinking drooling on the screen?

You think that’s tasty? You should read the description of Chase! He is downright sexier in words, I think. But, I’ll let you be the judge of that.

Chase and Melanie knew each other from School, and now they’re adults. And obviously it has been sometime since they’ve seen each other last, and you know how the ‘School Girl’ crushes are right? Well when the guy turns out even better as an adult, ohhhh boy!

Well, Melanie ends up in debt up to her eyeballs, and Chase, well he is charge of: “The Pink Pouch.” It is a dancer’s club. And for him, he has just one rule. You read the tile of this book, right? You guessed it, the dancers are: “Off Limits” and Chase’s rule is to never get involved with them. Simple, right?

Melanie is stressing over the money she needs to come up with in less the thirty days, or she’s going to lose everything. Chase explains that there is money to be made as a dancer, especially if you do it right.

In the meantime, Chase remembers seeing Melanie in her swimsuit when she was younger, it can’t be all that bad. He is certain he can handle this. There are a lot of beautiful women on stage, and all of them want him, and he is firm on his rule. While it’s true Melanie could be quite a catch, he knows better.

Chase watches as Melanie appears on stage with her pasties on. He gulps, realizing this is a lot different compared to a bathing suit. He can’t look away as she sways and dances on the pole. It is than that Chase realizes, more than his eyes have awakened.

This book is truly a five-star read that I could not put down, not for one second. I had to know what was going to become of Chase and Melanie. I was right there with Chase watching Melanie dance on stage when I felt his body get warmer, and his emotions get the best of him. I knew he had lost his own battle. I just wondered if Melanie and he would still want to be together, I was curious if her debt was going to be a problem or not. So now, I leave with you the thoughts, did they get together or not? Maybe something ‘did’ get in the way. I’m not giving you ‘all’ of the answers! It’s your turn to go get this delicious book!

Melanie's a single mom doing whatever she needs to do to keep a roof over her head and food in her young son's belly. Right now, that means waitressing at a small, greasy spoon diner, but it's just not enough anymore. The diner is slowing down, which means tips are slowing down too. Bills are getting more and more behind and she's on the verge of losing her house.

When her teenage crush Chase walks in for breakfast at the diner one morning, she has no idea that he could possibly change her life forever and very much for the better. Chase and Melanie have known eachother since they were knee high to a grasshopper, but never traveled in the same social circles. As Melanie got older, the gap grew between the haves and the have-nots and she didn't stand a chance of catching the eye the gorgeous, wealthy jock Chase.

Chase overhears about Melanie's financial woes and offers her a job. She thinks she's going to waitress at a bar or restaurant, so she is shocked and embarrassed when she finds out the job offer is to be a cocktail waitress at the strip club that Chase and his sister inherited and run together. Reluctantly after much hemming and hawing, she decides to take the risk. She's not only worried about being surround by horny, handsy men every night, she's worried about working in such close quarters with Chase and still keeping her secret crush from him.

The electricity between Chase and Melanie is incredible and their chemistry just jumps off the pages. The fact that their attraction is forbidden makes the build-up even steamier. The sexual tension between them crackles and is plainly obvious to those around them, but Chase has never stepped over the line and dated an employee before and is worried about the consequences for both of them.

When Melanie realizes that the big money is dancing at the club, she turns in her apron for tassels and risks everything to keep her home. Chase's jealousy gets the better of him and they finally cave to their desires, but with Melanie's stalker-y ex and Chase's snobby, meddling sister, do Chase and Melanie stand a chance of moving forward together?

Sexy, steamy forbidden romance! Loved it!

Vivian Ward has written a touching and scorching 2nd chance love story. Two people who met in high school, but because they were from 2 different worlds it prevented them from being together then and they didn’t get the chance to be together . Now Fate has put them back together to make a 2nd attempt on getting that HEA.
Melanie is a divorced single mom who is looking for a way to better support her child since her ex refuses to support or visit their son. While working her shift at the local diner she sees an old friend from high school, Chase and he hears how she is struggling on paying her bills and such. He ends up offering her a job but it isn’t any job, it is as a cocktail waitress in a strip club. Chase tells her that she will make way more money there than in her current job so she accepts his job offer.
Melanie finds that in her new job she is accepted immediately by her new co workers yet working with Chase is full of tension…of the sexual kind. Chase is feeling the pull of attraction as well but because she now works for him Melanie is now off limits …or is she?
I found the 2nd chance romance/forbidden office romance great and the fact Chase and Melanie had this connection toward one another was awesome. Everything from the subtle sexual bumps of desire at first to the waves of steamy sexual heat as the story progresses really was fantastic. The sex scenes were hot , the flirting was so good and the banter was awesome. I was into this story because this was a fast moving plot which kept my attention. This is the kind of story I love reading.

Loved this book!!!!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Melanie is a single mom trying to live pay check to pay check, working in a diner as a waitress. Bills are piling up and the bank is threatening to foreclose on her house. She's desperate and worries about where her and her son, Cameron, are going to go if she loses her house. Determined not to let that happen she is overheard by Chase, a guy she went to school with, talking to another waitress about her problems and the fact that she's going to have to get a second job. Chase has always liked Melanie but they traveled in different social circles in high school and so he never acted on his feelings. Chase decides to offer a job as a cocktail waitress at the club that he and his sister own. Melanie goes to check it out and realizes that the club he is talking about is a strip club. After Chase shows her around she tells him she needs to think about it and she'll get back to him. Days later she decides she has no other choice if she wants to keep her house she's going to have to take Chase up on his job offer. She does well as a cocktail waitress but then one of the dancers tells her she could make a lot more money if she becomes a dancer instead of a cocktail waitress. Get this book to find out what happens when Melanie becomes a dancer. Chase is blown away and a little bit upset about her dancing but Melanie knows she'll make a lot more money dancing. Throw into the mix Melanie's ex-husband and the fact that Chase's sister doesn't like Melanie and you've got drama galore. Plus very steamy sexy times and a secret Chase's sister is hiding from him, makes this a must read book.

* I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I am voluntarily posting a review. *

Going to be leaving another short review today because I don’t really have a whole lot to say about this book.

This is a slow burn romance. And by slow burn I mean nothing happened between the two main characters until the very end of the book. The whole book was them dancing around whether or not the other one liked them and if they should do something about it with some added drama elements from other characters.

I have read several of Vivian’s books by now and I have come to kind of expect some hot and heavy scenes from her characters. That was not the case with this book. Like I said nothing happens until the end and then when something did happen it was over so quickly.

I’m not saying that’s necessarily a bad thing. I know there are readers out there who would prefer the romance part be short and sweet but I’m not one of them. At least not when I am reading Vivian’s books. I wanted more of the hot and heavy and less of the sweet.

Also I felt like things worked out a little to well for the main characters. Every time they had a problem it was resolved instantly. I love books with HEA endings but I want them to have to work for that HEA.

Even though I had some issues with this book there are still some things I really enjoyed. This book was a quick read and it was a very cute romance. I thought Melanie’s son was the cutest and I kind of wish he was part of the story a little more because I loved him so much.

In this book Vivian talks about spousal abuse. I love how Melanie was able to recognize things were bad for her and her son and she was able to get them out of that situation. I also love how she slowly worked her way back to relying on herself. She was able to become a strong independent woman despite what she had went through.

If you like slow burn romances this might be what you’re looking for.

Ahhh Shades of Pretty In Pink

I voluntarily read an arc of this book via Booksprout for a fair and honest review. Melanie's waitressing job wasn't cutting it for her. She need another job to help support her son and herself. When an old classmate Chase Taylor comes into the diner where she is working she recalls her old crush. He was a popular jock from the right side of the tracks, he dated cheerleaders and would probably be laughed at if he ever made a move on Melanie (cue Andrew McCarthy). Melanie, hung around with her own friends ( cue duckie) and they both got through high school noticing but never acting on being together. Chase is still well off...his dad owned a gentleman's club The Pink Pouch and now Chase and his nasty sister co-own (cue James Spader). As he's leaving the diner Taylor give Melanie his business card as well as an offer to work as a cocktail waitress at his club. It will he solve Melanie's financial problems and she can works nights. Melanie is kind of stunned to realize she'll be waitressing at a strip club. Club rules are simple..no dating between employees and no dating the club's clients. Melanie soon finds out that while cocktail waitresses tips are really good, stripper tips are truly great. With her house in foreclosure Melanie decides to give amateur night at the club a try. Funny enough, I'm at the 78% mark and there still hasn't been even one kiss between Chase and Melanie and I didn't even mind. The book has great characters, fast moving plot and it's a really good read.

Where to start with what I loved about this latest book by that fantastic author, Vivian Ward? Just the title of the book, Off Limits, gives you a clue that someone's limits are going to be pushed to the extreme and they most certainly are for our heroine in the book, Mel, who was such a wonderful mother to her baby having to care for the baby even though her rat of an ex wouldn't help with any bills. But she is so strong and such a good role model. She has a high school crush on Chase, a jock and seemingly a player, but she didn't think he even knew who she was. But Chase, and he is so hot and gorgeous that he might make your kIndle melt, did know her and had a crush on her too. It's only when he goes into a diner that he has a chance meeting with her and when overhearing she needs a job that he offers one at the Pink Pouch where he is a part owner! What a fabulous name - she just didn't realise it was a strip club! No spoilers from me here...let me just say that when Chase watches her do one routine he knows that he is a "gonner" and that Mel has him in her power! The scenes between Mel and Chase are so beautifully penned and so steamy that you just know they belong together. As for humour? I always love humour in a story and there is plenty in here to keep you smiling too. This is a fast paced story with a great storyline and is a real page turner that will keep you from putting it down until you've finished reading it.I received an arc of this book and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book
WOW this was a wonderful read, I LOVED Chase, he was HOT HOT HOT
but he was also so sweet to Mel. I loved how Vivian wrote that Chase knew
of Mel in high school. He always thought she was cute and yet like most boys
who were jocks in high school he was a player. And well Mel's family were not
from the same social standing as his family so he knew that it would not be a good
thing to ask her out. When Chase happens to go to a diner he hadnt been to in a while
he sees Mel and of course he cannot help be still be attracted to her. When he overhears
her talking to Jo about some financial issues she is having and about her ex he just cant
help but offer her some help in the form of a job.
Mel cannot believe that Chase just walked into the diner. A boy she had such a crush on in
high school, Someone that she never thought would even look at her. When Chase offers her
a job she is hesitant to accept but when she does got to the Pink Pouch and realizes that it is
not a "cocktail waitress job" at a Nice restaurant but a strip club she is stunned. Mel tells Chase
she has to think about it. But when the bills come in for the month and she sees a foreclosure notice
she knows that has to take the job.
I really really loved how this played out one of my favorite scenes in this book was when Mel did Sapphires
routine and Chase could not take his eyes off of her. Oh and Chase's sister LOL that was to funny too.\
WONDERFUL read.

Great book, single mother Melanie is working at a diner hardly making end meets.
She was in an abusive marriage, but is now divorced and has not heard anything or gotten any support from her ex in 2 years. Melanie is about to lose her home at the diner she is not making enough she needs a second job.

One day at her job a crush from her past show up. Chase was always rich and out of her league and his sister hates her. Chase can't help but overhear her talking to a coworker about her situation and he offers her a job. Melanie goes o the interview but is very shocked when she finds out it is at a strip club. She rarely got out and has never been in a strip club. But she really needs money she is about to lose her home.

I love stories about smart hardworking women. Melanie was definitely no push over all she wanted was a roof over her and her sons head and food on the table. Chase is sort of a player and there are rules that he can not date any of the worker, he is very attracted to Melanie. All though a player I also liked Chase's character he stood up for Melanie and protected her when she needed it. He also cared about all of his workers.

Going into this book I thought he was going to be a arrogant stuck up playboy. He was totally the opposite and I loved that. The love scenes was good in this book but were towards the end. A great story and I highly recommend this book.

Grabbing the brass tassel

I received an Advance Reader Copy for Off Limits written by Vivian Ward and voluntarily reviewed this book. Both Melanie Parker and Chase Taylor have always eyed each other from afar, but never really got a chance to act on it during high school. Now, Chase shows up in the diner where Melanie is working, and realizes he wants to seize the opportunity right in front of him, especially when he can help her at the same time.

Melanie has only two priorities in her life right now: her three-year-old son Cam and her quickly mounting debt. In fact, she is now in danger of losing her home because she just received notice of foreclosure. If not for the generous offer from Chase to work at The Pink Pouch as a cocktail waitress, she would not have any other option, so she thankfully takes him up on his offer, only to realize that it is a gentleman’s club.

Little does Melanie know that taking that step will open doors to many more things, things which wouldn’t have been in her grasp in the first place if she didn’t dare to grasp that lifeline. The only thing is, she still has her ex in the background, and Chase’s sister never liked her and is probably going to make things more difficult for her, since she co-owns the club with Chase. But the biggest thing for her is that boss-employee relationships are off limits, so are Chase and Melanie doomed and barred from ever giving in to their mutual attraction?

I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review. Off Limits is a good old HEA book. However it's set with Melanie a single mom, trying to make ends meet working in her local diner. Then one day a fine looking young man happens to walk into the diner. Melanie recognizes him right away and just cannot bring herself to serve him, but she's forced to take his order. Chase totally remembers her from school and always had wondered what happened to her. Chase and Melanie did not grow up on the same side of the tracks in town. Chase's family probably owned the tracks come to think of it. Chase over hears Melanie talking with her co-worker at the diner and about her money struggles.

His family's gentleman's club is doing well and it's classy. It would be an easy way for her to make money, working for him as a cocktail waitress. However, once Chase leaves his card with Melanie, she's not 100%.

Melanie's best friend and a letter from the bank on foreclosure of her home are enough to get her to drive to the address on Chase's card. It takes a while for Melanie to accept the fact of the business that Chase is running, but once she gets past all of it, she realizes how much money she can actually make. It enables her to quit her diner job and also to start to catch back up and work with the bank on saving her home.

This was a good read. I enjoyed it and will look for more from this author.

This is a second chance love story. Two people who meet in high school, the atttraction is there, but being from two different worlds prevents a future. But the second time around, everything falls into place.

Melanie’s a single mom trying to get by. Married right out of high school to a controlling, abusive, cheating man leaves her alone now raising their son. After her nasty divorce, she’s starting over. Doing her best to make a new life, but the bills are piling up and she’s going to lose her house.

Insert Chase. He’s her crush from high school. He remembers her and after overhearing her need to make more money, he offers her a job. He owns his own business and tells Melanie she can be a cocktail waitress.

Melanie shows up at his place of business and discovers the type of business he runs. It may not be ideal, but she needs lots of money and fast. There’s no shame in providing for your kid!

Chase is attracted to Melanie. And seeing her everyday in her sexy clothes, just makes it harder to stay away. But, his business has a no dating between employee, employer or patrons policy. These two have great chemistry and once that sexual tension escalates it can’t be stopped. Policy be damned!

Meeting the right man brought her back to her dream. And with love and support, their future is bright! Chase makes all of Melanie’s dreams come true.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I really loved this book. Vivian really out did herself with this one. I really fell in love with Chase and Melanie. Melanie has had a hard few years being married to a controlling, deceiving husband who basically took away her self-esteem, and crushed her dreams of college and the future she wanted for herself. Starting over is never easy and she’s finding that out the hard way. Behind on bills, the mortgage and the diner doesn’t pay enough to keep her and her son afloat after divorcing her husband Garrett, Mel will do anything for her son and doesn’t know what to do. She gets an offer from someone she knew from high school, Chase. He owns the local strip club and offers her a job as a cocktail waitress, telling her she’ll make way more money there than the diner. Everyone accepts Melanie as part of their little family and the girls utilize her talents with makeup and hair. Mel and Chase are both feeling the pull of attraction, but if she works for him she’s off-limits that is if he can keep his hands off her. Such a great book, the chemistry is amazing, the sexy flirting between them, the subtle hints of desire from both, everyone taking Melanie under their wings and helping her flourish with her talents. So much love and family what’s not to love? Highly recommend this book!

Melanie is a single mom struggling to make ends meet since her ex-husband never pays his child support. She has worked at the same diner for a few years now but its business has slowed down. One day while she is complaining about her financial difficulties an old classmate, Chase comes in. Melanie has had a crush on Chase for a long time. When Chase hears that Melanie is looking for another job, he offers her a job at his business as a cocktail waitress. Melanie is excited about her new job until she realizes it is at a strip club. Melanie is uncertain about taking the job until she gets a foreclosure notice on her house from the bank. She needs to make a lot of money fast.
Chase has always been drawn to Melanie since high school. Since the birth of her son, she is curvier than ever.He is torn about offering Melanie a job. He would like to date her but there is a strict no dating policy set up by his business co-owner, his sister. Chase will do whatever he can to help Melanie but it seems keeping his hands off her will be impossible. He has to try because she is off limits.
This was a great story about a single mom doing whatever she can to make ends meet. Chase is a bit of a womanizer but Melanie makes him want to change his ways. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.

Melanie is not making enough money as a waitress at the diner to support her and her son. She had planned to attending cosmetology school and had dreams of opening a salon but that ended when she met her ex-husband who is now behind in his child support.

Chase is a partner in the strip club, The Pink Pouch, with his father and sister. While he is in the diner he overhears Melanie’s problems and offers her a job as a cocktail waitress as she will be able to make a lot more than she is making at the diner. Chase and Melanie know each other from high school who although they were attracted to each other never acted on it as he was a rich jock and she was girl from the wrong side of the tracks.

Things get interesting when while working at the club one of the dancers tells her how much more she could make as a dancer and Melanie decides to give it a go and she certainly gets Chase’s attention. There is a no fraternization rule between the employees so will they be able to keep it business only and will her past remain in the past?

I liked that they finally got their chance at love that they didn’t get in high school and that their connection to each other was stronger than ever.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Melanie is a waitress that a diner, divorced with a toddler. Her ex-husband kept her away from friends and family, stopping her from attending cosmetology school and seeing friends, then when they divorced, no child support. Chase, the owner of a strip club goes into the diner, sees Melanie, recognizes her from high school and overhears some of her problems. He gives her a card and says she would do well as a cocktail waitress. Since the diner is real slow, she does go there to interview. She is not sure about a strip club, but after getting a foreclosure notice from the bank on her mortgage, calls Chase to get the job. She is earning a lot more than when she was at the diner, making friends with the dancers and doing makeup on breaks since she always dreamed of having a salon.. Eventually, she decides to try dancing since dancers make a lot more money that waitresses. Meanwhile, there is no dating policy at club, which Chase is following, but when her ex-husband shows up and makes threats, all bets are off....will have to read the book to see if Chase and Melanie can get over their steamy desire or give in to it, or if she quits the club to get another job for a chance at Chase.

Melanie is a nice hot divorcée working in a diner just to makes ends meet for her and her small son. Chase is a hot bachelor living the life, while co-owning and running the Pink Pouch. They went to school together but didn't run in the same crowd...Mel was poor and Chase is rich. While in her diner, Chase overhears her talk about her Ex, working long hours and still at risk of losing her home. Chase then offers her a higher paying position as a cocktail waitress; it could solve her problems right? She's not sure at first, should she take the job, or will she work two jobs or one? When she finally decides, there are still a lot of questions. There's a no fraternization policy and she's still got feelings for Chase. Chance is having the same problem with Mel. As time goes on Mel opens up, learns a lot about herself and how to deal with the crummy things that life throws her way. It's a great story about abuse, love and having the strength to love a good life. Chase is great and aids Mel in more ways than one. I loved the characters and their tribulations and how they come out on the other side. Fun, sexy, uplifting and enjoyable!

I did receive a Free ARC copy of this book in exchange for a review I am freely leaving.

Chase, is a co-owner of a men’s night club. His father has always owned it but has now been given to him and his sister. His sister has no interest in the club. She only there to do payroll and collect the deposit and take it to the bank.

Melanie was married at 18 yrs old, and had a baby shortly afterwards. Her husband was cheating on her with other girlfriends instead of remaining faithful to her. Her then husband sheltered her and took away most of her pride and self worth. She divorced him and became a waitress, which was the only thing she could find with having zero experience.

Chase and Melanie have known each other most of their lives. Although they ran in different friend circles they’ve always known each other. Chase comes into the diner where Melanie is working one night. He offers her his business card and tells her to come by the club to see about a waitressing job. Melanie doesn’t realize it’s a strip club and she’s never even been inside one.

Melanie’s ex soon finds out she is working at the club and starts sending her threatening messages. Melanie goes to Chase who says he will protect her if he comes to the club.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book through BookSprout.

I loved this book. The story held my attention and was exciting and this book was well written by Vivian Ward; but it also was heartwarming, emotional, and humorous at times. From the very first page, I was spellbound by these fantastically described characters that you will find yourself falling in love with—or not. I was enthralled with the characters of Melanie and Chase. Melanie was a divorced mother, which her ex-husband was very abrasive towards her as well as a deadbeat dad! Chase and his sister are owners of a strip club. When Chase meets Melanie at a diner that she works as a waitress, Chase recognizes Melanie—Melanie has always had a crush on Chase. Chase offers Melanie a job at his club—at first she is hesitant, but finally agrees. Chase and Melanie have some serious chemistry between them, building up to what is sure to be a crazy sensual relationship—the sex is off-the-chart hot!! The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next. The story will also pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.

Vivian Ward has an amazing writing style. It is so captivating that I just have to read her books in one sitting. This did not disappoint me. It is a story written with a lot of heart and feelings. The use of words makes the reader feel like being in the story. The characters feel real and I love that.
This story has strong characters that are well described and develops well through it.
Melanie and Chase are high school sweethearts and meets again several years after. They have still got feelings but can they succeed this time or have their past given them experiences they cannot get rid of. Does fate have its own way with them? They have issues to deal with.
This story has twists, drama, passion, suspense, lots of chemistry, hot scenes and emotional ups and downs. It all makes the reader want to know what happens next. It captivated me from first to last chapter. I like that it is written in dual POV, which gives it an edge and the 5-star review.
