Finding Peace

This is a wonderful, well-written, entertaining romance novella with likable, engaging characters and a heart warming romance.

3.75 Stars to Finding Peace by Ellie Masters.
Abby and Drake.......
Finding Peace was a short story of new beginnings for Abby Knight. Abby had been through tough times in recent years; her situation was not getting better so she finally made the decision to start over in a new town. Leaving an abusive relationship, Abby finds herself on her way to Peace, Montana to work with her Uncle. Abby is a doctor and will eventually take over her uncle's practice one day. But when she arrives, things with her uncle are not as she expected.
On her way to Peace during a snow storm, Abby finds herself stranded on the side of the road. This is where Abby's adventure begins. Abby was lucky enough to be rescued from by a rugged, straight-forward, sexy rancher. At least I think he was a rancher. One of my disappointments was the extreme lack of information regarding Drake. Yes he was the hero but very little is known about him. I wished we had his POV. There were so many questions I had regarding Drake and not having answers was disappointing for me. This book is written in only Abby's perspective and due to that, when the book was finished I felt that a lot of things went unanswered. I don't want to say specifics because it might spoil things for you.
Although this novella is a standalone, I believe there is potential to continue this story. Maybe the author does have that in mind. If that is the case, I would definitely like to read more. That said, the writing was very good. The story flowed with good tension and there was no lack of interesting secondary characters that added wit and humor.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it.

Finding Peace is a novella which introduces you to the town of Peace Montana and its residents.
Abby Knight is travelling to Peace Montana to relocate and to help her uncle with his medical practice. It couldn't have come at a better time as she is leaving behind her life and abusive ex, Jacob. Her journey wasn't as straightforward as she would have liked and we can thank the divine intervention of the moose on the loose for that and snow.
Grappling with the wheel in a bid to miss hitting the moose her car skids and she lands herself and it in a ditch and surrounds herself with a pack of wolves who look at her as if they have found their next meal.Could things get any worse for abby ? No! It can only get better with the appearance of her knight in shining armour or should I say, snow gear!
Drake is tall, dark and handsome and a local rancher, out and about searching for the pack of wolves that he knows are on the prowl. He not only finds them, but he finds a damsel in distress too! And that my friends is where this sweet story begins! The chemistry between these two characters is evident throughout the book, but will they act upon it or go their separate ways? Will Drake sweep her off her feet, and will Abby find the peace that she is looking for?
This novella is short and sweet with a bit of sexy time thrown in which compliments the story well. It was well written and the story flowed continuously. Congratulations to Ellie Masters. I look forward to reading more about Abby and Drake and the residents of Peace Montana.

Driving down the road in a blinding May snowstorm, Abby is recalling the events that led to her decision to move to Peace. Her abusive ex, Jacob, is weighing heavily in her thoughts, when…. MOOSE! THERE’S A MOOSE IN THE ROAD!!!! Abby swerves to miss the beast and ends up stranded in a ditch.
Snow is blowing, it’s getting colder and colder, and Abby has no clue where she is. She knows she was only a couple of miles outside of Peace, so Abby leaves her vehicle and starts to walk to town… or does she? Surrounded by wolves, Abby does her best to scare them away, when out of the squall arrives a savior…. A gun toting, tall, mysteriously scarred cowboy….
Drake hears the wolves howling…. And knows… something or someone is in danger. Expecting the wolves to be threatening a neighbor’s livestock, he is stunned to see a woman in the storm. Drake shoots the wolves, and turns to Abby, expecting a thank you. Sparks immediately fly, as Abby berates Drake for killing the wolves. Drake quickly explains he was saving her life, and the lives of livestock by eliminating the wolves. Despite her initial distrust, Abby finds herself drawn to Drake, and soon, sexual tension arises.
Will Abby let go of the past, and learn that not all men are like her abusive ex, or will she remain alone? Will Drake fight to make Abby realize not all men are bad, and to give him a chance? Let me start off saying that this book will give you all the feels in all the right spots.
In a short span of time Ellie Masters takes you on a wonderful journey about how when life throws you for a loop you can either continue the path you are on or take a chance a make some changes.
Abby uprooted her life that she knew and moved to Peace, Montana to work with her Uncle. While making her journey from her old home to her new one an unforeseen accident occurs and she ends up meeting Drake.
Where does one even start with Drake? We find out very little about the man but what we do know is that he is an alpha man and holds secrets but is sexy, protective and I got a feeling that he is a very loyal person.
Finding Peace, was a fast paced read but was not lacking in anything. My heart ached for all the struggles that Abby has and will endure as well as soared when she was happy and moving in a positive direction. Without giving anything away I felt like Fate has a huge role in the incident that resulted in Abby meeting Drake. A connection that was new to each of them could be felt and the tension was undeniable. I am in definite need of more from Ellie Master in regards to Abby and Drake's story. The ending came way too fast. This is a must read!

Loved this novella! This is a story about how life can throw you a curve ball. Whether it be in the shape of a moose in the middle of the road, to being rescued by a gun toting stranger. How you deal with these unexpected curve balls is up to you.
Abbie has left her life in the city and is moving to Peace. The small town she visited in the summers as a child. She doesn't even make it to Peace before the first curve ball heads her way.....and they keep coming. Will Abby find her peace in Peace or is it too much to hope for??

Everyone wants a place to call home – a place where you know you belong and are needed, loved, and wanted. This story of Abby and Drake takes you on that journey – Abby was running from a past that stole her dreams and hopes for the future. But in running from her past she ran straight into Drake – and the chemistry between the two was undeniable. The writing is amazing and the characters are well developed. You get a little of everything in here, from steamy and sexy to sweet and tender. This is just an incredibly beautiful story that warms your heart! By facing her fears and living in the moment – can Abby truly find peace? You really need to read this one to find out!

You never know what you will find in the wilderness! Abby Knight sure didn't realize what she would come face to face with while leaving a world of abuse behind her to find peace in another part of her heart she had left behind. Moving to Montana to help her Uncle with his practice, was something she couldn't wait to do, what she didn't think she'd find again was the one thing she didn't want. Drake was the total Alpha male, tall, brooding and sexy as sin. When these two worlds collide, it's like Beauty and the Beast. I loved this read so much and cannot wait to see where this story goes. It had all the feels.

Abby's introduction to Peace Springs included a freak May snowstorm, a near collision with a moose, a marauding pack of wolves, a mountain man savior, a trek through the snow and spitting llamas. All in all not a very auspicious start to her new life. Leaving her old life and starting over is what Abby needs. Meeting Drake, her savior, makes her feel something she hasn't felt in years. Peace.

Finding Peace is the first in the new series by Ellie Masters. It's a novella, a perfect bedtime story. I love the forewords she always has in her novels. I think it's cute and caring gesture towards her readers, always with some encouranging words.
Abigail has just graduated med-school and is on her way to be a part of her uncle's family practice. She's actually glad to get to get away from the abusive relationships that she's been in. Her uncle is all there is for her, her parents are dead and the relationships she is in, is slowly killing her. So she was glad that her uncle made the decision for her when he asked her to come down to Montana.
On her drive to Peace, she gets caught in the middle of snow blizzard, almost hits a moose, ends up in a ditch and is saved by a stranger in a snow suit. They trek throught the snow and a bit later he sees her changing out of her snow wetted clothes. Her body went haywire, responding to the full force of the man standing before her, looking as if he had every right to feast upon what he saw. (23% Kindle edition)

What intrigued me most was Abby's inheritance, the ten thousand acres of land that has been the birth right of the first born female. And Abigail is the last female in the McFearson line. I want to know what secrets are written in the old journal. All this was left a bit of a mystery I hope to unravel when the series proceed.

I thought this was a great story about unexpected new beginnings.
I felt so bad for Abby when it was clear how far over her head she was with the weather after her car accident and how shocked she was with the wolves. Drake saved her life although she had no idea the real danger she was in.
Drake was a mystery to Abby initially but then their attraction took over and it was passion after that. I loved the date that he took Abby on and knew he really went to such an effort for her!
Although I was sad about Uncle Pete's diagnosis it was definitely clear that Abby was where she was supposed to be although I did definitely want a little more information on what she receives soon.

I was almost done writing my review for this when my computer shut down for some reason and I lost what I wrote. So this second attempt is going to be short and sweet cause right now I'm so frustrated I can't think straight. So, here we go again...
If you are looking for a really good quick read with a sexy mountain man, a smart determined doctor and llamas...that's right...FUCKING LLAMAS...then you're going to love Finding Peace. It's a beautiful novella about new beginnings, small town life, and finding peace again after so much pain. And did I mention there's llamas? Trust me, you won't be disappointed with this story. It's got romance, danger, sexy mountain man, mystery and llamas! You just can't go wrong with this book!

All I can say is more!!! I loved this novella by Ellie. I am definitely ready to read more about Peace, Montana.
You quickly fall in love with Dr. Abigail Knight. Every thing she's gone through before moving to Peace, Montana makes you want to fly down there, bundle her up and bring her back with you to your home. Unfortunately, I don't think she'd go anywhere after meeting Drake.
Drake not only saves her life but he saves her heart as well. At first, I don't think he's too happy with how he reacts to her or how she makes him feel. But he's the kind of man who won't fight the way he feels and will take what he wants.
Together they make sparks fly. Even as Abby's life is crumbling around her, she takes a chance with her already broken and bruised heart by agreeing to one date. What harm could that do, right?
I sincerely hope Ellie does come back and gives us even more of this story and the people surrounding Abby and Drake.

I have read one other book from Ellie that one made me cry. This one was just as good as that one. I absolutely love her way of writing. She makes you feel like you are a part of the story right from the beginning. This one was a fast paced wonderful story about a girl starting over. Abigale Mcfearson had come to Peace looking to start her life over and help her uncle with his doctor's office. Little did she know she would find so much more then that in this little town. I loved her character. She is strong and knows what she wants. To be able to get rid of her past and start over . Drake is yummy. Hard core strong perfect for Abigale. I love these two together. There is just something about these two that brings a smile to your face. I am hoping and wishing that there is another book with these two characters in it because i am curious to see what happens more between these two. But it was a great book from the beginning to the end. Absolutely loved it and highly recommend it.

This book was an absolute treat!
Abby Knight is returning to Peace, Montana to assist her uncle in his medical practice. She has left behind an abusive ex-boyfriend and her last touchstone with her parents, who have passed away. Abby is looking forward to working with her uncle in the place of her happiest memories.
Unfortunately, it isn't always as simple as that. She encounters a wicked snowstorm, in May?, and a moose. In the road! The expected happens, and her car ends up snow covered in a ditch. Other perils ensue until she is rescued by a tall, snow geared man. Once they reach safety, she sees Drake, the snow geared man, without his garb. Maybe, this was a good move after all. The story continues with enough emotional angst to satisfy anyone and the sweetest courtship you can imagine. Ellie Masters description of the Montana nights is so evocative and beautiful that I want to live in Peace, Montana. I loved, loved this novella. It was a sheer joy!

Finding Peace is about coming home, finding a piece of yourself and finding Peace in your life and home. Abby moves from Redlands, CA to leave behind an abusive ex and her parents are no longer living so there is nothing tying her to stay. She takes up her uncle on his offer to move to Peace, Montana to help as a family physician in town. Little does she know it won't be peaceful making it to Montana. Instead of bears, tigers oh my, it is moose, llama and wolves that Abby has to worry about.

This was a wonderful story about finding peace in the most unexpected ways, in the most unexpected places and with the most unexpected people. You can't help but to absolutely adore these characters and feel a personal connection to them. Drake is that "good guy" that women always talk about wanting to find. Luckily, Abby finds him -- or, rather, he seems to find her -- and she gets a second chance at a happily ever after with someone who is loving and caring and deserves her love in return. This book made me laugh, cry and give a happy sigh of satisfaction at the end.

Finding Peace was amazingly HOT! A great short read and it had me wanting more and more. I loved Abby from the beginning. She is the type of person that made me want to wrap my arms around her and give her a big hug. This woman had it tough and is leaving it all behind to settle in a little town named Peace.
Drake seemed like a loner. Was content to what he had to an extent. Unexpectedly Abby stops his whole world. I loved how these two met. Abby gave Drake a piece of her mind that's for sure. Then they had THE CONNECTION that we all dream of having. Before you know it, they are falling hard for each other. The sexy times between these two was to hot to handle! I loved it <3

Ellie Masters once again takes you on a BEAUTIFUL journey in Finding Peace. Abby decides make changes in her life. She moves to Peace, Montana to become the new Doctor in town. When Abby is stranded after almost hitting a moose, she meets the mysterious Drake.
Drake is 100% alpha male, sexy, and definitely protective and loyal.
Finding Peace, was a beautifully written, fast paced story that I ADORED from start to finish. Abby and Drake definitely have intense chemistry. And I'd LOVE to see more from them in the future.

She had escaped her abusive ex and didn't want any man, she just wanted to work. So when an accident with a moose and an encounter with a pack of wolves put her in the sites of the hottest and most irritating man she ever met, she doesn't know how to react. Abby is such a strong woman even though she doesn't think she is. I loved this story and I can't wait to follow Abby and read more of her story.

Sweet romance!!
I absolutely loved this sweet romance. But don't be fooled there is plenty of action in this book. When Dr Abby Knight moves to Peace Montana to take over her uncles medical practice she has no idea what she's getting into. And when a handsome stranger saves her will sparks fly or will she be held back by the fears of her past? I guess you're just going to have to read it to find out. My only complaint about this novella is that it wasn't long enough and I need more!!

Plus during a snow storm it’s in to a car accident and needs to get to shelter to get help. This book will give you the peace that you will need to bring life back. This was a wonderfully sweet story about finding your way and making peace with all that you have been through. Dr. Abby McKnight moved to Peace, Montana to escape an abusive ex and also to help her uncle with his practice. She was nowhere near prepared for the wild lands she would encounter, nor the harsh winter that threatened her life. Drake is a rancher through and through, tough on the outside, but soft on the inside. Together they find their own peace and happiness! This book was sweet, yet heart-pounding and vivid! I thoroughly enjoyed their journey.
