Leanne Marshall is a Scottish-born and bred romance writer with more than average life experience. She has been a torrent of wild things, including a singer in a girl band, animal rights activist, and charity owner, worked on radio, and offered jobs on TV.
A passionate, restless soul who has always found peace in writing, the only way to calm that fiery spirit.
She uses her wit and dark humor to her advantage in her works and has been an avid reader for most of her life. Her influences vary, but from early life and a teen stint in journalism, she applies logic to most of her plot lines, is a confessed research fiend, and likes a lot of psychology behind her character's actions.
She currently resides in Central Scotland with her two children and Fiancee of 13 years, making waves in the book world with her signature 'WTF moments' she likes to apply in each story, hints of humor, and devastating emotional rollercoaster rides.
Quote from L.T. Marshall - 'Writing has always been an escape for me, loving that no matter what you are doing, where you are - you can create ideal fantasy and get lost in someone else's life. I love nothing more than drawing a reader with me on a journey that tortures your every emotion before the grand exhale.'

Wow! Another brilliant Carrero instalment, and a wonderful introduction to Sophie and Arrick!

In true Carrero style, Marshall keeps the reader guessing throughout, cringing at the decisions the characters make and at times wanting to scream at them in sheer frustration!

Sophie is vulnerable, confused and more than a bit bratty at times. There are several moments i wanted to slap some sense into her, but all her behaviours become clear the more we know her.

The opening scene with Arrick is brilliantly done, setting the scene and giving a valuable insight into how he acts and reacts later. He is confused, conflicted with no idea of where to turn, and that becomes more confused along the way.

I love seeing how their relationship has been, although the situation with Natasha makes me want to rave at them all. Any love triangle is tricky! And this one is worrying throughout because there is no clean cut answer or solution, it is very well created and handled to give an amazing sense of realism throughout the unfolding scenarios.

All of this comes together at the end, in Marshalls signature “OMG what did you do?!” moment.

An Author with a talent for creating realistic love situations, realistic dilemmas and responses, and making the reader NEED to know how this situation will turn out later.

Another hard hit on the emotions novel by L.T Marshall. Another strong female character who despite her turbulent past is a fighter, strong willed and full of defiance. Not unlike Sophie herself I found myself eye rolling hard and mentally scolding the characters it's frustrating you get fully invested in wanting it to go the way it so clearly should and then bamb it's not. Tantalizingly so close to getting what she wants after years of being blind to her true feelings for Arrick only for it to all be ripped away in the next breath. I was mentally egging them on. But of cause the author is a master of getting you on the hook weaving a web of side steps and obstacles that keep you hanging on and practically begging for more. Full of turbulence and raw emotion.

Book 1 of Sophie and Arricks story is by far the best one of the series. I really enjoyed their story more than Jake and Emma, although we see a different side to Jake and Emma in this book. I have a soft spot for Arrick and Sophie. Their friendship is one to have and be jealous of. when that friendship changes, the turmoil, angst, and behaviour from both parties keeps you hooked.
Only thing that stopped me from giving this book 5stars was the repetition of sentences and information. If you like romance you'll enjoy this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first three book in the series and fell in love with Jake and Emma.

I was really anxious to see the love story between Arrick and Sophie is going to be developed. Can I just say WOW!!! 3000 times? I never thought that a love story can be written in so many details, can touch every aspect of a relationship and can manage to make me awake for two nights in row, getting up in the morning with huge circles under my eyes.

I don't like to write the plot, but I would like to say that the plot in depth captures everything from a girls point in view that goes through our mind when we think we found the one, and especially if that someone has been our friend for a long period of time.

The storytelling is marvelous as in previous books and I really wondered how did L.T. Marhall manage to write such a captivating story once again, a story that kept me hanging and wanting to immediately read the next one.

It is a book so well written that I, in mid reading, had to put down my Kindle and ask - how does she manage this?

At least now I know what all the fuss about Arry is! He is just a sweetheart and very confused one. Doesn't want to hurt anyone he cares about but not realizing he is just doing that. Ah, at times I felt like grabbing him and giving him a good slap, but then he is just too sweet, isn't he? And Sophie, well she has dealt with change of feelings for her best friend a lot better than I thought. She just adapts to situation, probably because of her past, not that it's easy for her.

I bought Book 4 and 5 together, knowing author's writing style and leaving us at cliffhanger in her previous books, I wasn't going to risk not having another book ready. I hate it but love it. She has her way with words and emotions and I just can't get enough of her books. Keep them coming 😁

The Carrero Series is my absolute weakness. Intense emotions, steamy but not cringe and the Carrero man… oh my… we definitely need more Jakes and Arricks in this world… I intend to read on although to me the dynamics between Sophie and Arrick are a little irritating. An ongoing up and down of moods. I get it, that’s how life works but here we have mood swings every single chapter or even every paragraph. Also Sophie’s attitude was quite annoying like girl please grow up! But maybe that’s intentional and we’re going to get an amazing character development. We will see… All in all the plot and characters are still a guilty pleasure.

Having loved the previous 3 books in the Carrero series I one clicked this one instantly, keen to delve in to Arrick and Sophies story. What an emotional rollercoaster this book is! But I loved it. We get to find out more about Sophies heartbreaking past in this book and how it effects her relationships with those around her. We also get to see Arrick from Sophies viewpoin and how he struggles with their changing relationship. It was also great to catch up with Jake and Emma too.

Tissues required for this one but I couldnt put it down. Cant wait for book 2.

Well L.T. Marshall has done it again. The first book of a new trilogy has had me laughing, frustrated and crying tears of sadness at the heartfelt emotion running through this book. as with her other books, you end you end up on a rollercoaster ride, up one minute then down the next. The author certainly knows how to pump your heart full of hope only to have her squeeze it like a deflating ballon, to once again leave you teetering in the edge of that cliff waiting for the next book in the hope that it will bring the HEA you so desperately want for these characters.

Arrick and Sophie 1

Spice: 🌶️
Trope: friends to lovers
Tension: 3/5 arrick wouldn’t make up his mind and put sof through mental hell
Pro: well written and developed characters. It was nice to see more of Jake and Emma
Con: Sophie is whiny at times and so spoiled it barely matches with someone that was once homeless

I need the next book of the series right now!! The complex relationship between Soph and Arry doesn't make it easy for them, they are so used to being best friends that neither can get their head round the face that their relationship has progressed to something different. Love this series ❤️
