I 'm very lucky to have the indulgence of time and space to enable me to write. I took a sabbatical from work to accompany my partner on his bucket list travels and adventures, and never went back. I really thought I would struggle with all the free time, so decided to write to keep myself occupied. Now writing has consumed my time and I am never sure where we will be or when, hence my novels could be classed 'international' as they may have been written across a few countries. We are still travelling, although we do pop back to the UK for a few months every now and again.

I love the fact that no matter what our age we can use new technology to connect to the rest of the world and enhance our lives. Back in the UK I have my friends and family and with emails, phones, skype or face-time, we are never out of touch for long. Even my mother at eighty-six uses face-time to catch up with me. I have the world at my fingertips and only twenty-four hours away from anywhere.

Being a 'mature aging gracefully' woman, I feel akin to the problems of aging and relationships. I spent many years on my own before finding my truly remarkable and very patient partner who I happily gave up my whole world for. My stories are about mature relationships with mature people. People who have character and humour, who have a history; people just like us.

I like to call it Hen Lit, not Chick Lit, but it is not just about falling in love. They are about real relationships.

I hope you enjoy my stories. Please check my web page or social media pages if you would like to contact me. I love emails and try to answer every one as soon as possible.

What a clever, informative, self-help manual this is, packed with useful information that any new, or seasoned author will want to own! Whether you are just thinking about writing, have already started but need guidance, or if you're a self-published author wanting to improve your methods, "How To Navigate The Social Media Maze" is easy to follow, understand & learn from! Oh, and definitely NOT at all boring like some instructional textbooks!
~After my many years of trial & error, trying to learn my way around social media, this will help me even more as just an avid reader and fan-girl for authors. I enjoy virtually assisting when I can, and I’m an admin, or moderator at numerous book groups and author street teams. After every book I finish reading, I always submit my honest reviews without any outside influences, whether I do beta reads, proofreading jobs or buy kindle books whenever I can afford them.
~This manual has easy instructions and is a fount of information for me that will help me manage my time & organize my tasks so much easier! In the past, I’d wasted too much time & energy when I was learning the hard way, so I’m thrilled to have most everything I could imagine or need, all in one place- here in this fantastic book!
~Even though I volunteered to beta read this prior to release, I had immediately pre-ordered my own copy to keep handy forever! So yes, I highly recommend all authors, readers & book lovers to run, don't walk, and get yours now!

Although I have four published books, as well as a background in public relations, I still consider myself a novice when it comes to book marketing. Finding a clear path through vast social media networks can be intimidating, to say the least, especially for beginning authors who are competing for attention with thousands of other, better-known writers.
I found How to Navigate the Social Media Maze to be a concise, well-thought-out guide to establishing and growing a presence on Facebook, Twitter, as well as several other social media sites I’d previously overlooked. Donna and Allyson’s guide is full of tips, resource links, and user-friendly advice that isn’t overly complicated. I highly recommend this book to writers eager to promote their work and reach new readers. It has plenty to offer, both for newbies and seasoned authors.

How to Navigate the Social Media Maze: A 'Go To' Handbook for Indie Authors (Calling All Authors #2), is an extremely user-friendly ‘How To’ guide by Allyson R. Abbott and Donna Wolz. It covers everything you need to know to navigate the world of social media. Knowing what to do to promote your book, or to build a following can seem daunting, confusing, challenging and quite complex. But with this book to guide you, the task is simplified with a step-by-step process to follow, tips, and useful links that will streamline the process and help you avoid any pitfalls.
This is a ‘one-stop-shop’ for everything you may need to know about the process. It includes helpful hints and insights garnered from the authors own experiences during their many years of writing, publishing and promoting. Promoting your work is vital if an author is to survive in their chosen profession, so getting noticed is vitally important- using social media is a very powerful way of getting exposure to many existing, as well as new followers/readers/customers.
I really recommend this book to any new author or writer who may not know where to begin; or to an established author who may wish to expand on what they are already doing. This book really does cover it all, as well as provide links to sites that can be of further help. This easy to understand, detailed and comprehensive look at the whole social media world and how to utilize it as a tool in your business, is well worth the investment as it is packed with extremely useful information.

How to navigate the social media maze by Allyson R. Abbott & Donna Wolz a five-star read that will show you the way. I would recommend this book to any budding author or indie author. I dream of being in the former category one day and know that this book will help me on my journey. It is definitely one I will be recommending to authors I see admitting to struggling with the social media circus, as this maze shows you how to deal with it, taking you turn for turn and explaining each step. It’s an easy read and will show you the wood for the trees, it’s also shown me just how powerful and important a presence can be. There are links and information a plenty to give you a good grounding and ideas, but it’s also honest about the fact that it’s an uphill battle that will take time, unlike some others about the same subject it doesn’t promise overnight success, it tells you that it’s your battle and gives you the skills and recourse to complete the job yourself.

This book is an absolute must have for all authors. There is so much information in the pages of this book. If you can’t find it in here, you probably don’t need it. but, just in case you do, Ms. Abbott and Ms. Woltz have provided links and advice on how to get it. I am so impressed by this book. My only problem is now, I really want to write and have absolutely no reason not to. Thank you Allyson Abbott and Donna Woltz for this concise, informative, and easy to read book!!

I'm not writing a book but if I ever did I know what book will be my number one go to for guidance. How to Navigate the Social Media Maze was an interesting read. It felt more like a friend giving advice than a self help book. The authors deliver their knowledge in clever, worry way. I need more self help books to be like this.

How to Navigate the Social Media Maze by authors Allyson R. Abbott and Donna Wolz is fully loaded with everything a beginner writer, or a seasoned writer, could possibly need in regard to social media. The tone of the advice inside its pages is smart and friendly. The book doesn't pull any sort of punches; these women give you everything that you could possibly ask for from the writing gods up above. Having read two of their other books that they collaborated on, this fits right in with the other books, and if there was any information repeated between any of the three books, it wasn't noticed. This book specifically helps the reader/writer wind their way through many social media outlets in a style that is gentle, like waves guiding the reader through the information. There are enough links in here that will cause you to disappear for days, and that's a total positive.

I can't get enough of How to Navigate the Social Media Maze by Allyson R. Abbott and Donna Wolz. There isn't a holy grail for book writing, but there are holy grails, and the three books that I've read from them are that and so much more. Your head might swim just a bit from all the information, but as you take your time to absorb some of the steps that it places in front of you, it will slowly come to you, and eventually it will be effortless to navigate the land that is Social Media these days. Personally, I thought I knew a lot about author promoting on social media, and I was happy to find out that I didn't have a clue. Again, the language is simple and straightforward so that if you've been shipwrecked on an island before the year 2000, you should still be able to understand the information provided within. I can't tell you enough how much I loved these books. They are really going to help me in my own writer's journey, and I feel very fortunate and honored to be able to review them. So, grab 'em all; they will not disappoint. They will motivate you in so many ways to get started, and will make you feel like you have a total handle on the social media world.

This book is not long but it packs a punch. I appreciate the time that went into making this book so informative. My book is in the beginning stages, but I can tell that How to Navigate the Social Media Maze will be a book I reference often during this process.

One of my favorite things about this book is the copious amount of resources. I am glad that the authors took the time to provide the links to many of the topics they discuss in the book, including links to compare different options to help you make a decision on what is the best fit for your personal strategy.

In this book, the authors give great tips on platforms, places to save your work (I am pleased that Google is on the list), definitions to terms that you will run across and are important to know, marketing ideas to get you started, and much more.

I liked the fact that the authors let you know throughout the book that marketing is going to take some time. There are a lot of books out there that are full of hype and make it sound like if you just follow their process, you’ll be rich overnight. How to Navigate the Social Media Maze keeps it real, while encouraging you at the same time.

Allyson R Abbott is on a roll! She has this new “How to” Series which gives authors and want to be authors great advice. The first book, How to Navigate the Path from Writing to Publishing, is just what an author needs to start the process of publishing. This book, How to Navigate the Social Media Maze is just that. A guide that shows you, the author, how to plan an event on Facebook, how to use Twitter, Pinterest and many other social media sites. It is the encouragement an author needs to step out of their comfort zone and advertise their book and themselves.

“You may think everyone knows a lot more than you, but they may just know different things.”

Great advice for getting along and for getting to know other people in general!
I found this book very informational and even fun to read. I really liked how Allyson and Donna wrote this book like there were talking to a friend, makes for an easy read. If you are an author or plan to be one I would definitely read this book.

How to Navigate the Social Media Maze: A 'Go To' Handbook for Indie Authors (Calling all Authors 2) By Allyson R. Abbott & Donna Wolz

5 Stars

I’ve always dreamed of writing my own book but know that if I do it will be somewhere in the future, and if and when that time comes I will use all of the books that these authors have out. I thought it was amazing that I read this book from cover to cover and was genuinely interested, and I’m not even writing a book. I can only imagine how helpful this would be to someone that is. I have read many of Allyson Abbott’s books and plan to read whatever she writes, this was
my first time reading anything that Donna Wolz has written and find that I want to look her up and see what she has available.

This was a very informative, helpful guide to dealing with the social media we can’t seem to live without in today’s world. I would recommend this to anybody even considering becoming an author, and I found it so interesting, I’d even recommend it if you aren’t looking to become an author anytime soon.

Awesome!!

How to Navigate the Social Media Maze: A 'Go To' Handbook for Indie Authors by Allyson R. Abbott and Donna Wolz. This is another well written “How To” book by Ms. Abbott and her co-author Ms. Wolz. This book is full of useful information for both new and established authors to learn from. In this digital age it never hurts to have a good reference source to fall back on and this is definitely that and so much more these authors know how to get all this information across without people losing interest in what’s being told in this book. This book is written in a style that is not only easy to understand but actually entertaining as well. This helps to keep the reader interested long enough to actually find the information that they are looking for. Definitely a five star read and highly recommended for anyone that is even thinking about becoming an author and needs a well written point of reference for all things to do with the crazy and ever changing world of social media.

Becoming an author is something I’ve thought about quite a bit over the past few years. I have so many ideas but no real sense of how to turn those ideas into a coherent story. Even beyond that the thought of how to promote anything I wrote seemed almost insurmountable. This short book has given me so much information and I am truly grateful to have it. It will absolutely be my best friend when I finally get my act together and put pen to paper.
I’m very familiar with Facebook but that’s about it when comes to social media platforms. Before this book I had heard of LinkedIn but had no idea of what it actually was. Now I have a very clear understanding of what it is and how it can help me and other aspiring authors as well as those who are established already in writing.
There is so much more to this book than I really could have hoped for and I recommend every one read it. Not even just authors. This can help basically everyone.

This isn't your average instruction manual in which you keep hanging around your bed incase you have issues one night falling asleep. This is a quirky written manual to help navigate the craziness of social media. Whether you are a seasoned author or even thinking about writing, I would definitely suggest reading this book.

This book is a helpful guide in building your Facebook, twitter, etc social media presence. They give extremely helpful tip and the trial and errors that comes with experimenting with these platforms.

As someone who is looking into publishing my own writing, I found this to be extremely helpful and I actually took a ton of notes while reading this book. It has sparked ideas for (hopefully) when I publish but it's also given me ideas on how to apply some of these concepts to my own business that I run on social media.

How to Navigate the Social Media Maze by Allyson R Abbott and Donna Wolz is life safer to all indie writers who are trying to figure out how to get more traction in the wide and at many times seemingly unconquerable social media. It gives you real life examples and step by step guide with a number of links to other relevant resources that should help you to go beyond Facebook and Twitter and blogging. It also gives you a helping hand when trying to decide when and how and …
I have currently no plans of becoming a writer but I have to say that the information the writers shared with us, well, I think there is a lot that can we also applied to other fields when thinking of how to get one’s name out and promote the heck out of whatever it is we want to promote!
Well done Allyson and Donna and thank you for sharing it with the rest of us!

“How to Navigate the Social Media Maze” by Allyson R. Abbott is a must-have in your publishing arsenal.

Once again, the author approaches an intimidating topic in a conversational manner that puts the reader at ease. Getting your work out there for others to read and critique can be a daunting task, never mind trying to think of ways to let people know you are out there. Each chapter is a separate topic and the way it is setup allows the reader to work on a section at their own pace. It feels more like a manual than a how-to book and it’s one of the things that I enjoy most about the author’s writing style.

Tooting your own horn may not come easily, but the tips and sound advice found in the second book of the Calling all Authors series will help put you on the right path to success.

I wasn't sure I would enjoy this book since I'm not an author. I was wrong, How to Navigate the Social Media Maze will help you whether you are an author, blogger, or run a website. Allyson Abbott did a wonderful job keeping me engaged throughout this book.

It has everything from learning about acronyms to promotions. She gives you tips on your website to how to promote yourself and draw new readers to check you out. I love how herself and Donna use their own experiences as examples.

One of my favorite parts of the book was building your brand. Even though I'm not an author, this will help me in other areas of my life where I need to build my brand.

Well done ladies, well done.

How to Navigate the Social Media Maze
By Allyson R Abbott and Donna Wolz
5 stars

When I started this book I wasn’t sure what to expect, I knew it was primarily for authors but I learnt so much from it! It made me realise how important social media is to authors and how many different aspects there are to it. I often help promote authors so the sections on promotions were really interesting to read.
The way in which the authors have written the book is great, it’s simple, easy to follow and understand and really does have so much great information in it for new (and I would imagine established) authors about how to use social media to their advantage. It’s written with clear, easy to follow steps and I would absolutely recommend it for all authors to read.

How To Navigate the Social Media Maze : A "Go To" Handbook for Indie Authors ( Calling All Authors 2 ) By Allyson R.Abbott is a 5 star must read for new and old authors alike.

In actuality, I think many others, other than authors could find this useful (Bloggers, Multi Level Marketers /Direct Sales Representatives). If you are even considering writing, this guide os for you.

Not only was this packed with Social Media Navigation, it was packed with plenty of resources. (At cost and Free).

Abbott went above and beyond with this guide and offers much more support than just social media tips.

If you are a new author, an experienced author, a blogger or anyone that will be using social media for marketing this is for you
