“Some people have a disposition for the macabre. Some prefer fantasy to an unfulfilling existence. Some find that a single moment injects itself into their lives repeatedly until all they live for is that moment. Is that me?”
In this extraordinary thriller a man with an unnatural obsession is in pursuit of his perfect victim. A chance encounter with a young woman then challenges his patience, perspective and strict lifestyle. Misunderstandings transform the relationship between two unique characters while they both face danger neither suspect. This disconcerting story will provoke your emotions as the killer’s personality is revealed and his victim’s plight is uncovered.
The Devil Books Saga of Triumph Over Adversity can be read as a stand-alone cautionary tale and in any order. Devil May Care is the first in this increasingly dark saga. It is followed by Devil's Pursuits, a crime mystery. The third book, Crushing Curiosity, is a gripping psychological thriller.

The story was so interesting and it made me wonder what would happen next. I liked its dark atmosphere from the very beginning. Characters were also unique.
However, it developed too slowly for me and I was sometimes tired of it...

Barrington “Barri” George III (student) was about to embarrass Ms. Elspeth Rogers (teacher) & the whole class.
The Headmistress had called Mrs. George.
An Education Welfare Officer would visit with the family.
Radburn House. Mr. George had arrived home.
At the evening meal he was informed of his son’s misbehavior.

It was time for Barri’s next birthday. Maybe a party would change his disposition.
A break from the kids he went to his tree house.
Elspeth Rush was already in it.
She would not be attending anymore birthday parties.
Staged as an accident it looked very convincing to the parents & law enforcement.
She had made him a friendship bracelet for his birthday.
Barri loved playing Rugby, padding was not required where he lived.
Mr. George purchased another home in Whitby (Yorkshire East coast).
Barri (23) had been in a boarding school & then attended a University.
His parents were killed in a car accident.
Caprice (19) was soaking wet when she boarded the train.
On board, the elderly man would not leave her alone.
Mistlethrop. The Varsity pub. Caprice sat down & was going to eat/drink.
Barrington George III (Barri George) handed her 1 of his business card.
Later he had saved Caprice from a couple of thugs who had accosted her.
Soaking wet he offered to take her to his house so she could freshen up.
Caprice was headed to Bradbury.
Barri had gone to work at Radburn Confectionery which was unusual for him & Caprice was free to wonder the huge house.
The evening-only cleaning lady had met Caprice.
As time went on Caprice stayed & Barri had come accustomed to her presence.
Barri was going to make her the Residential Manager.

Whiskers Hotel. A Mistlethrop Civic Trust Award was being given to Barrington “Barri”.
Caprice, Rosebud, Armoured Rosebud’s personal bodyguard, Sophie, Purl Mandrake, Niall Mandrake, & Mr. Phestoz (older man) were all in attendance.

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written thriller book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.
