She's spent her whole life in the same town, going all the same places, with all the same people. She's dated one boy. One boy who grew into a man. And now, he wants to marry her.
Suddenly, Sailor can't help seeing, how easy it is to go astray...without ever going anywhere.
Therefore, the only way to find herself...is to leave.
Dante is mostly pissed. Most of the time.
And that feeling only increases when he stumbles onto a woman, stealing grapes right from the vine. His vine. On his vineyard.
Doesn't matter that she's lost. Or that she's beautiful. To make matters worse, she continues to stick around, despite his efforts to be properly pissed...with her.
And thus, their story begins.
Because that's the thing with happy ever afters...they all start with an unlikely once upon a time.
** EverAfter is part of the #MeetCute movement **
Boy meets girl. It’s the way romances usually begin . . . and while we all love a happy ending, it’s the #MeetCute that wins our hearts.
How did you two meet?
The #MeetCute Books each have a unique answer to that query. Some might make you swoon, others might make you giggle… and some may make you blush.
Twelve authors. Twelve stand-alone contemporary romance novels. Twelve stories that will make your heart beat a little faster.
Dog Lover who likes her pastries full of cream and sugar...oh...and I write some ;-)
Aside from being an author, I am also a mom to a beautiful little girl. I tell everyone I named her after my great-grandmother (because that's the mature answer), but really, I named her after my favorite princess - just so happens I got lucky and they had the same name...If I wasn't a writer, I would work on a horse ranch - I'm an animal lover (in addition to dogs, horses are at the top of my list). I wear flip-flops pretty much everywhere I go. I would rather stay awake until 5 am than get up at 5 am (years of bar tending have left their mark), if I can, I'm going to the beach AND I will always be nice to people who bring me chocolate...or coffee...if you bring me both, I'll probably love you forever.
I write the way I live, following the story wherever it may lead, always ready to start the next one. This is clearly reflected in my body of work which to date includes everything from Children's Lit to Thrillers. I happily reside in sunny Florida (for now) with my daughter and three dogs.
I loved the mix of fairytale elements in this modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast - paired with unmistakable hints to other stories. It’s a captivating book that draws you in and makes you fall in love with an angry, hairy beast of a man named Dante. The story follows Sailor, a young woman who doesn’t realize that she’s not living the life she wanted until her longtime boyfriend proposes. Things have been going just fine for her, but there was never any passion or excitement in her life, and she’s never left her hometown to explore what else is out there. The proposal spurs her on to take an adventure, where she stumbles upon Dante. Dante’s attitude and demeanor make Sailor feel a whole range of emotions - she is never neutral with him. The two start out as adversaries and slowly become more as Sailor peels back the layers to what makes Dante act the way he does.
The writing here is fantastic, dropping breadcrumbs along the way to revealing the full story. Their banter and the humor in the book make the pages flow quickly. I loved both of these characters and how their relationship made them learn more about themselves - the good and the bad. Dante and Sailor’s relationship has plenty of depth; it’s a slow burn romance that is clean and focuses wholly on building up their understanding of each other. My only complaint would be that the story concludes a little quickly, but that’s remedied by the novella that accompanies the book. Overall, it’s most definitely a worthwhile read that is light, funny and full of deep emotion.

A life of Wash, Rinse, Repeat..................A journey to find "More" of everything
*** 4.5 Stars ***
EverAfter is a wonderful story that will enrapture you right from the beginning. Sailor is living an ordinary and predictable life and just going from one day to the next, like most of us. When her boyfriend proposes she has a realization that this may not be all she wants in life - the same. Instead of planning a wedding she embarks on a whole different journey and sets off on a trip. Along the way she becomes lost, physically, and ends up by Dante she she is stealing his grapes. Let's just say that Dante is not too happy with Sailor but she has some strange reactions and feelings about Dante and his attitude towards her. She seems to finally start to come alive and it seems Dante has lit a match to Sailor's candle.
I do not want to spoil this enchanting story so you will have to get the book and read what happens to Sailor and Dante.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own..
A fun and snarky retelling of “Beauty and the Beast” with other delightful fairytale references as we met the runaway almost fiancée in Sailor as she wound up in Dante’s vineyard. Dialogue full of sass and vinegar as Sailor pushed all the wrong buttons in Dante and vice versa. Adorable young daughter, Mariana who sweetened and humanized the world that Sailor found herself in. A tragic past, a surly alpha yeti of a man, and Sailor who relentlessly pummeled through the tall thick emotional walls that Dante built up made for an enchanting and enjoyable tale!

Sailor has spent her entire life in the same place, with the same people, doing the same things, dating the same guy. She feels lost and needs a change so she leaves so she can find herself.
Dante is angry, almost all the time. Finding someone stealing grapes off his grapevines just increases his anger. It doesn't matter that she's beautiful and is bound to stick around, despite his anger toward her.
A fairy tale story line where Sailor and Dante's happily ever after needs to start with once upon a time.

I really freaking loved this book! I'm so sad it ended but so happy with how it ended. I can't even be that mad that it ended. I need more! I laughed. I cried. I lost my breath. I swooned. I rolled my eyes. I got hopping mad and indignant. I think I felt just about every emotion that a good book is supposed to make you feel. I love love love this story! Read it! You won't regret it!
Sass, sarcasm, stolen grapes, a yeti, a lovely kid and more make this one hell of a book. I love that Thomas characters are a little broken but once they found their other halfs it doesn't make it magically okay but they work through it. Plus it's a beauty and the beast retelling.

This book had me crying at some of the things in the story, this is an Author I have not read before. Sailor and Dante's story will have a woman that can not make up her mind and a man that is not ready to move on from things in his past. A story I enjoyed reading.
