Polly Lane lost almost everything. The long journey west on the Oregon Trail took her mother and her father, left buried out in the wilderness. Then her new found, and only true love, Travis Hurst, left to head onto California and the gold mines. “I’ll be back for you as soon as I can.” When as soon as I can, had reached ten months, Polly knew he wasn’t coming back.
Gavin Swain, saw her sat on a straw bale at the local dance, and he knew he never needed to look at another woman as long as he lived. However, after finding out her heart was promised to another, he decided to just be friends, even though he wanted more.
After the return of the promised one, Travis Hurst, Gavin figured his love was lost until he found something wasn’t quite right about Travis. Now with the news of the cad in hand, how could he possibly tell? Gavin wanted to be first choice, not the fall back choice. Now she’s leaving with Travis, it looks like he was neither.
Will Polly find out in time about Travis the cad? Or will she leave, only to find out later the mistake she’s made?

We first meet Polly very briefly in the first book in this series, when Trinity and her mother watch the romance blossoming between Polly and Travis. Now, Polly’s parents have their farm set up in Oregon and Polly is still waiting for Travis. There’s a fork in the Oregon Trail called the parting of the ways, where those going on to California headed south and those going to Oregon moved on. Travis headed south to California and the gold mines, and Polly was crushed. She’d begged him to go to Oregon with them, or to marry her right then and there and take her with him, but he refused, saying he’d come back for her when he had money put away and a home set up for them. But 8 months after the fact, Polly is still waiting, and when she reconnects with Trinity, she’s introduced to Gavin at a barn dance. He’s willing to be “just friends” when Polly tells him about Travis, but he quickly realizes he’s in over his head faster than he thought was possible. Polly eventually convinces herself Travis isn’t coming back for her...until he does. Who will she choose? Did Travis really write all those letters he said he did but she never got? Does she really love him? What are these feelings she has for Gavin? Which feelings are true and everlasting, and which were just the leftovers from a first love long gone? The story was good. It just somehow didn’t hold my interest as much as the others. There wasn’t much suspense, besides wondering if Travis would ever show and wondering what she’d do when he did, and there were a few editing errors that drove me crazy, like Trinity’s name being written when it should have been Polly. It wasn’t anything major, but since I had a harder time getting into this story in the first place, it detracted from the story a bit I think. Overall, it wasn’t bad, but not one of the better ones either, I don’t think.
Like so many others, Polly and her parents headed west on the Oregon trail to start a new life in Oregon. Early in the journey Polly meets Travis, a handsome young man who is headed for California to search for gold. Polly and Travis are nearly inseparable on the trip west resulting in Polly's first love. At the parting of the ways where Travis takes the trail to California and Polly and her parents continue on to Oregon Polly is heartbroken, but Travis promises to come to Oregon for her as soon as he is settled in California. Nearly a year later Polly meets Gavin who falls madly in love with Polly, but even though Polly has not heard from Travis in all this time she is reluctant to give up on her first love. Will Polly welcome Travis back into her life or will she recognize Travis for what he really is and open her heart to return Gavin's love? Another fabulous book by Indiana Wake.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Indiana Wake has done it again and written a sweet, charming romance about western brides in Western Brides: Poly's Choice. Our heroine Polly is swayed by the charms of a man called Gavin but then he has to leave for work and she doesn't hear from him for some time. Meanwhile she meets Travis who is everything she really wants in a man. But Polly is an honest young lady and informs Travis of her boyfriend. Travis is gutted as he loves her. But why hasn't she heard from Gavin? This is a lovely, sweet romance that was an easy flowing, quick read that I DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED
A very well written book by Indiana Wake. They never disappoint me. It has great strong well developed characters and is an amazing western read. An author that has done the research before writing the story. A short sweet romance read. Not everything is what it seems to be. So who are she going to be loyal to? The story flows well and I like the plot and story line.

Polly's Choice by Indiana Wake is a wonderfully romantic tale. It made me both laugh and cry and I couldn't stop reading it. Coming to terms with the fact that first love was not really true love, but Polly come to realize who her heart beat for. My opinion. Thanks

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.loved it. Polly has been waiting for her first love Travis for over a year to come for her. Then she meets Gavin a a charming, funny farm who falls in love with her. Polly still waits for Travis until he shows up with his lies of lost letters and misfortune of gold mining. Who will she choose
I enjoyed this continuing story. Polly was really young when she met Travis. She fell in love so early. Travis was missing a long time without a word. Gavin is a patient man. Very kind. If Travis shows up again what would Polly do. You have to read to find out. It's very good. Enjoy.

What a beautiful well written store of the things this woman went through to finally find love. I was not sure until the last couple of pages who she would choose to be with. I received a free copy from Book Sprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
