Hybrid super-soldier Atticus is terrified of the Horatius Group returning and enslaving his people. With the monstrous Glycons roaming outside the town that was supposed to be their refuge, he’s convinced their true enemy is on their way to snatch their freedom. He doesn’t understand why the hybrids don’t flee the area. Still, there’s one person that makes him want to stay, Celine, the mayor’s assistant and his destined mate. He’s kept his distance from the woman, convinced that any relationship will only bring pain to them both. It doesn’t matter how much she calls to his body and heart. He’s determined to resist her, even if it means a lifetime of disappointment. Celine doesn’t know the secret of the hybrids, but she does know she wants the hunky Atticus. But the man won’t give her the time of day, which hurts, as he’s one of the few men she’s ever truly wanted. Then again, as the town weirdo who gets vibes from people and has strange nightmares about a mysterious entity, Celine thinks it would be best to keep her distance. When her nighttime terrors worsen, she’s forced to go to the Azilian cult to seek help. An ambush at the cult’s compound brings Atticus and Celine together. Forced to flee into the forest, the pair will have to grapple with their scorching hot attraction. No matter how much they want each other, it’s not a good idea to be distracted when a killer monster is hunting them.

Madison currently lives with her husband and two children in the Valley of the Sun. Phoenix, Arizona. After leaving the frozen tundra of the north, Madison was more surprised than anyone with how much she has enjoyed living in the desert. Seeing as she had stated on more than one occasion how much she hated the heat, it was an odd move. But it seemed her hatred for sub-zero temps and ice, or really the things that ice could do, won out in the end.
When she’s not writing, she’s enjoying time with her family. Madison and her family frequent festivals in the area, as well as local cultural events, and spend time with family in the area. In the summer she is most likely to be found in the pool with the family and in the winter by the fireplace. Since both her children are autistic, days can be a little chaotic but with her husband beside her, there’s nothing she can’t handle. Luckily he is also an author and able to share in all the activities (and chores) special needs kids require.
Madison has a full schedule of releases planned for 2014 listed and updated on her blog:

"Nothing really made much sense at all, other than the fear."

Celine has always trusted the vibes and feelings she's gotten, but being plagued by nightmares has her a bit rattled, and for once hoping she doesn't actually have a gift.

Atticus wasn't planning on pursuing his soul mate/Vestal... but sometimes life throws you a curve ball, and all you can do is follow your instincts, and do your best.

Part of what drew me into the Luna Lodge series, and over to this spin off series was the strong community the hybrids built. This series does that fairly well among the hybrids, but the Vestals/mates kind of get the short end of the stick, for instance Allison from the previous book was in one scene here, no mention of Lara, Taylor or even Jenna and her pregnancy, which could be used to help us keep track of time.

I continue to enjoy these quick reads, they move the overarching arc forward, and new information is uncovered each story, etc... but, I do miss some of the strengths of the early stories.
