‘On Station’ is the 1st book in the Galactic Council Realm Series. In the Military, if you screw up, you either get busted or promoted. Sergeant Phelan Oscar Piran, formally of the Galactic Council Marine Corps, discovers that both can happen. If it wasn't difficult enough trouble being the oldest Ensign in the Galactic Council Navy, call sign J-Pop, the Druids have plans for him. He's not a Druid, having failed the Ritual, but his parents are Druids. ‘On Station’ is an adventure encompassing a Galactic Empire, Space Cats, Martial Arts, Marines, Navy Aviators and the unfolding story of the Galactic Council Realm. ‘On Station’ is the 1st book in the series with ‘On Duty’ and ‘On Guard’ continuing the story of Phelan Oscar Piran and the Galactic Council Realm.
Thank you for reading my author's profile. I write Military Adventure both Future and Ancient.
In early 2015 I sat down and began On Station. The Galactic Council Realm series is now four books long.
My wife and I have three rescue dogs. Our home is a dog house. Luckily, they are small dogs. This doesn't explain why the Galactic Council Realm has Space Cats. It's still a mystery to my dogs.
Another subject I am passionate about is history. While researching ancient Rome, I looked for books set before Rome became an Empire. They are few. Further study led me to the Roman Republic which lasted over 200 years.
Clay Warrior Stories takes place before the first Punic War in a world where making steel and clay bricks were the height of technology. There are 19 book in the Clay Warrior Stories. Welcome to 264 B.C.
A Legion Archer is a series set during the 2nd Punic war. The books follow Cornelius Scipio who would become Rome's greatest general and Jace Kasia, an archer, who saves him. Welcome to 218 B.C.
I am a United States Marine Corps veteran. My father was career Air Force, so I am also a service brat. I have lived in numerous states and a fair share of foreign countries. This influences my writing in creating diverse characters and locations.
it's an interesting story. The pace is quick.. The character of ensign piran is engaging. I will definitely buy the next installment. The only problem is that the book is full of grammatical errors , i wish the author would submit the book to a serious editor.
Love the story! There are quite a few typos but for a new author just starting out this is forgivable. The typos are the only reason this isn’t five starts. But, he has made revisions and released updates with corrections.
Great story, pacing, and characters but a few grammatical errors that could have been helped with a bit more editing. Overall a very easy and enjoyable read.
Military sci fi, mostly military, done right. Not too much sciencey or futuristic stuff the dialogue and main character are very well done. Easy to imagine a current modern day military man as the main character, will definitely read the next one.
When I was younger I read a lot of Sci-Fi but in recent years I haven’t. ‘On Station’ the first book in J. Clifton Slater’s Galactic Council Realm series must be the first book in the genre that I’ve read for about 20 years. As I got into the book I realised what I had been missing. ‘On Station is a top-class space adventure, which gripped me from page one to the last and I didn’t want to put the book down. J. Clifton Slater has created a detailed and fascinating universe in which the Galactic Council Realm resides. The characters are interesting, especially the hero Sergeant Phelan Oscar Piran, formerly of the Galactic Council Marine Corps. The book was so good that I will certainly be getting the next two in the series and look forward to continuing to follow Phelan’s adventures. Great Sci-Fi and well deserving the five stars I am going to give this review.
