Natural Born Readers is the third book in the warm-hearted Book Lovers series by the bestselling author of The Rose Girls and A Weekend with Mr Darcy. Perfect for fans of Debbie Macomber and Sherryl Woods.
Praise for Victoria Connelly:
‘Great fun. A real page-turner.’ Andrew Davies, screenwriter of Pride and Prejudice
‘Sunshine on a rainy day. A charmingly written slice of warm-hearted escapism.’ Lisa Jewell
‘A lovely feel-good story.’ Katie Fforde
‘Fun, flirty fantasy from the gifted pen of Victoria Connelly. A magical story with a gorgeous setting and more than enough handsome men to go around!’ Carole Matthews
Victoria Connelly grew up in Norfolk before attending Worcester College where she studied English Literature. After graduating, she worked her way through a number of jobs before becoming a teacher in North Yorkshire.
In 2000, she got married in a medieval castle in the Yorkshire Dales and moved to London. Five weeks after their wedding, her husband, a television news cameraman, was sent to Israel. Convinced something terrible would happen to him, she came up with the idea for a novel about a young widow who starts seeing angels on her desk at work, but was scared to write it in case she tempted fate. It was only years later that her husband admitted to having a bullet graze his shirt sleeve whilst filming in Israel!
Although having had articles and short stories published, it was only when Flights of Angels was published that Victoria was able to realise the dream of becoming a professional writer. Published as Unter deinem Stern in Germany, the novel was made into a film for television by award-winning Ziegler Film. Her second novel, The Unmasking of Elena Montella (Wenn es dich gibt), was published in 2007 and her third, Three Graces (Wohin mit der Liebe), was published in 2009. All three magical romantic comedies are now available as ebooks.
Her first novel to be published in the UK – Molly’s Millions – came out in 2009. This was followed by a trilogy about Jane Austen addicts: A Weekend with Mr Darcy, The Perfect Hero (US title: Dreaming of Mr Darcy) and Mr Darcy Forever.
The Runaway Actress was published in April 2012 and she is currently working on another romantic comedy, Wish You Were Here.
*I received a free ARC of this book with thanks to the author and Rachel Gilbey at Rachel’s Random Resources blog tours. The decision to review and my opinions are my own.*
Natural Born Readers is the third in the Book Lover series by Victoria Connelly, and in many ways it is my favourite so far!
The story does stand alone, but is very much enriched by having read the previous two books first, as they give the back story to the romances of the rest of the Nightingale family.
Which is one of the first things I enjoyed about this book… we get to check back in with Callie, Sam, Polly, Jago and Archie! And the rest of the Nightingale family. This far into the series, I really feel as if they are my family too and am eager for any snippet about Grandma Nell’s health, or Frank’s gardening! We also got a bit more of the local book club, and spent some lovely time with side character Flo Lohman and her great-nephew, Sonny.
Because these books are not just about the – sweet, clean – romantic adventures of the Nightingale siblings. They are about family. The kind of family that is warm, loving, supportive, chaotic, and utterly book-loving. But also, the kind of families that… are not.
We have already faced domestic abuse in previous storylines and it returns again here, along with exploitation of the elderly and outright stealing. We see the devastation caused by such acts, especially when they betray the trust of someone that was supposed to be a loved one. A family member.
There is also plenty of internal conflict, as Bryony is completely unable to forgive Ben for going travelling years ago, despite the fact that they clearly both still love each other and are meant to be together. I got a little irritated with Bryony to be honest. Her dramatic anguish over Ben’s huge ‘betrayal’ seemed a little selfish and self-centred, and the way she treats poor Colin is just shameful.
Still, it’s very hard to hold a grudge against her, when the person her actions seems to hurt most is always herself. Plus we get to see her attitudes mature as the story progresses and she gets to spend more time thinking about other people instead of being focused on her (lack of a) love life!
As I’ve come to expect from this author, this book is a delightful romantic read; a real feel-good treat. It has the right balance of dark and light, sorrow and humour, and the characters feel like real people with real hopes, dreams and flaws. Even Bryony and Ben, who want their heads knocking together! I could read about the Nightingale family daily and not get tired of the warm, cosy glow they emanate and all the bookish chat.
I’m looking forward to Josh’s turn in Book 4 and hope Victoria Connelly continues with Lara, Cousin Megan and any other Nightingales she can think of!
Ben. The man she’d loved since primary school. Not that she loved him anymore, she told herself as she chose a few new titles to showcase in the window. Those feelings had been crushed the moment he’d walked out on her all those years ago. He’d wanted to travel, he’d said, to leave Castle Clare far behind him. Well, fine. If he didn’t want to stay with her, then it was better that he went. The fact that he’d begged her to go with him didn’t weigh much with Bryony. His departure had been a betrayal. He’d loved something else more than her and she could never forgive that. Nor forget it.
Natural Born Readers is the third book in The Book Lovers series by Victoria Connelly. Although it can be read on its own, it builds on the previous books, so I highly recommend that you read The Book Lovers and Rules for a Successful Book Club first.
The series centers on the members of the Nightingale family, who own a trio of bookshops in the small village of Castle Clare. Natural Born Readers focuses on Bryony, who runs the children’s bookshop. Bryony is an outgoing, colorful, and passionate person, but she’s hurting inside and has been since her best friend and childhood sweetheart Ben Stratton left Castle Clare behind six years ago to travel the world. She couldn’t bring herself to go with him and didn’t understand how he could leave her behind. And then Ben comes back and seems to want to pick right up where they left off, but he broke Bryony’s heart, and she is determined for him to feel the same pain that he caused her.
Of course, there are things that Bryony doesn’t know, like why Ben was forced to leave Castle Clare, and since she refuses to talk to him, he doesn’t have an opportunity to tell her. Meanwhile, Bryony befriends her neighbor, Flo, an older woman who lives alone and spends her time gardening and caring for the animals on her property. Flo’s life is turned upside down when her great-nephew, Sonny, is dropped on her doorstep, and Bryony is there to provide support when Flo learns the reason Sonny has been left in her care.
Natural Born Readers is another fantastic installment in the series. I can’t get enough of the Nightingales, their Sunday gatherings, their love of books, and their close bond. I liked that Connelly presents the different viewpoints of each character so you can really understand them and their motivations. I wanted to smack Bryony at times and tell her to just tell Ben how she feels, but it was realistic that she wasn’t willing or able to welcome Ben back with open arms after so many years. Bryony and Ben are far from perfect, and I loved that Connelly showed their strengths, their weaknesses, and their mistakes. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series, as there are still some Nightingales left with stories to tell!
I can't believe I have taken around 6 months to get around to reading the this third book in The Book Lovers series, given how much I loved the first two and how much of a book lover that I am too. I felt right back at home in Castle Clare amongst the wonderful Nightingale family.
If this is your first visit to this series, then not to worry as it can easily be read as as standalone as it focuses on a different member of the family to the other two, but I would recommend you go read them anyway as they are all fabulous.
Bryony runs the Children's book shop, and has never forgotten her first love Ben, who has just returned after six years of travelling the world. However although deep down in your hearts you know how you want the book to end, the characters seem rather obstinate, and the journey of reaching that end point is anything but smooth.
We get to see how the rest of Bryony's family is progressing with their stories, but the storyline that I enjoyed the most was Flo and her great nephew Sonny. I loved everything about Flo and her menagerie of animals.
If I uttered trumpets, donkeys and doctors in the same sentence while laughing at the memory of the situation in the book, I bet you couldn't work out what I am referring to, but I can assure you when you get to that you will know just what I mean.
There is something just so warm and cosy about the writing in this small town romance, featuring this family of book lovers that have the most marvellous multi generational sunday lunches, and all seem to look out for and love each other, and are all delighted that Ben is back from his travels, while feeling guilty that they want to see him despite knowing that Bryony never got over him.
I loved every moment of this heartwarming story, and at times I completely lost track of where I was while I was reading it. I was very lucky not to miss my stop and hadn't even noticed when my tube went underground! Thoroughly enjoyable, Natural Born Readers gives hope for all bookworms that you may meet a book loving soul mate eventually.
Thank you to Victoria Connelly for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
I have read several books by this author and thoroughly enjoyed them - 'Love in an English Garden' and 'The Rose Girls' being my favourite, but I have to admit to being very disappointed in the Book Lovers series.
In this book, Bryony's old love Ben returns after six years wandering round the world. During the first four years he wrote to her regularly and sent her books and postcards but then stopped and she has not heard anything from him for the last two years until he reappears.
Bryony is miffed. Mightily miffed. And yet it appears that Ben only stopped writing to her because she never, ever wrote back to him. And because she is so miffed she does something utterly spiteful and hurtful. It's a 'practical joke' (yeah, right) She invites him to come to a dance with her and then, when he arrives at the venue, she tells him she is with someone else.
What a horrid thing to do. What an unpleasant, nasty, cruel thing. If that had been a bloke playing that 'joke' every woman reading it would have been up in arms at his despicable behaviour. And because its a women we don't see the sheer nastiness behind her actions. And, she is also merrily stringing Colin along - not really caring about him, but simply using him. This is the second time on this series I have read about a woman who strings guys along. Not nice. Decent guys (and as far as I read, Colin is just that) don't deserve to be treated like that.
There are a couple of plot holes -
Ben last saw Bryony six years ago, and when he sees her with a young boy (aged 8) he thinks it must be her son... ??? err.... I think not.
The small town where Bryony has her bookshop has two other bookshops - both owned by her brothers. one is a second-hand bookshop and the other sells books for grown-ups ( I was going to say 'adults' but that puts a whole new meaning to it ) Bryony's bookshop sells children's books exclusively. I honestly can't see any bookshop surviving by selling only children's books. Yes, its a 'romance' but I like my stories to be based in reality, otherwise I might as well read sci-fi.
Anyway. I dnf'd at the point where Bryony smugly tells Ben that she is at the dance with her date, Colin. The look on his face was one of agony, and she felt something inside her cracking at the pain she recognised in his eyes.
I couldn't read on. I know how this book will end - with Bryony and Ben forgiving each other and being madly happy, and poor Colin being dropped like a hot potato, but I wanted it to end with Ben find someone DECENT to love, someone who didn't act like a childish and utterly spoilt brat. And I would have liked Colin to tell her to get lost. (GO for it Colin! You can find someone far better)
It's a shame really, because there was a subplot showing just how caring and selfless Ben really was. And no decent, kind man deserves to be humiliated like that.

I actually had a harder time getting into this one initially...and I can tell you precisely why. In a word, BEN. In a few more words...I was totally with Byrony on the exasperation of her family welcoming the little troll back into the fold with nary a care for how she would feel. What of the broken heart they helped pick up the pieces of over the years? What of her desires or lack thereof now? I get that they are just that kind of family and he was an honorary member, but my word! I was beside myself with wanting to smack the man upside the head for how he left things...and no, the added news of her lack of response to his writing while they were apart, made not a bit of difference. I too could only see that if he truly loved her, he would have kept writing, or hey, novel idea, visited for crying out loud! (*silent scream*) That being said...
When all was said and done, she had her moment of payback, sadly it wasn't what it should have been because other events took a piece of his heart already, but it is what it is. No, I'm not saying it was right of her, but I can't say I wouldn't have supported her regardless. Anywho...suffice it to say that the baker sticks with the flour he knows and Ben....MIGHT...just have his day. Side note...Flo and her nephew actually have a bit of a big story line here too! The nasty piece of work that is known as Mitch, certainly deserves all our loathing and more, but with a little help from Byrony, and a lot of heart from the effervescent Flo, things turn out as right as they can in the end.
Another great love story for a different member of The Nightingale family, Bryony is not my most favourite character she seems a bit too loud and full on for my liking, however Ben seems like an absolute charm and had me falling in love with his romantic gesture when he was away! I can’t help but love their journey! 💗 A great, easy to read love story that makes you feel warm and light but at moments has you on the edge of your seat wondering what decisions will be made.
Returning to Castle Clare for the third in Victoria Connelly’s Book Lovers series is like getting together with your closest friends again, and enjoying a long, languid afternoon in a beautiful setting, complete with the finest cream tea!
After having met the Nightingale family who are based in the Suffolk countryside, in the first two books, we return once again to the same village and this time the focus is on Bryony Nightingale who runs the children’s bookshop. At the age of 22, and known as being slightly bohemian, Bryony has already had her heart broken by childhood sweetheart Ben, who upped and left Castle Clare 6 years previously. She was devastated, believing that he obviously never truly cared for her if he could so callously have left her and the place that is so dear to her heart that she’d never dream of leaving it.
She’s attempted to meet men on various dating sites, but truly, it’s virtually (excuse the pun) impossible to meet book-loving men who live in the countryside via a website. And for Bryony, having grown up as a Nightingale, it is imperative that the man who wins her heart absolutely must love books! In the meantime, she has casually dated Colin from the bakery next door to her shop, but she knows this can’t continue with this for much longer as he is far more serious about her than she’s every going to be about him – and the baked treats he keeps plying her with aren’t doing her waistline much good either!
And then, unexpectedly, Ben returns to Castle Clare. Bryony is in a complete state; adamant that she doesn’t want to see him or have anything to do with him. She certainly doesn’t want to start reminiscing about their time together before he left. But avoiding his is going to be difficult. It is, after all, only a small village. She manages to hide away in the most obscure place: the home of one of her neighbours, the elderly Flo, who spends her time gardening and taking care of a haphazard bunch of animals!
Much to her surprise, Bryony comes to enjoy her time in Flo’s garden. And when Flo’s great-nephew starts spending time there, she becomes even closer to the older woman, confiding in her, and enjoying their new-found friendship.
The village book club run by Bryony’s brother Sam and his girlfriend Callie also features, along with the rivalries that accompany the members, who attempt to lure the favour of their fellow readers with their baking efforts. Much hilarity ensues, and many readers who belong to their own real-life book clubs will identify with the arguments they have over what books to read, and why they should or shouldn’t be included! It’s a marvelous look at the microcosm of village personalities – but also an interesting comparison to many of our real-life group situations!
With all the warmth of the previous two Book Lovers stories, this one too is filled with that sense of family that reaches out to you and draws you into its fold. Those big, happy Sunday lunches at the Nightingale family home: Campion House, that make you want to just lie down in front of the warm fireplace, or ramble around the countryside on the afternoon walk with the dogs, are the stuff of comfortable, puffy, pillow-like dreams! They just envelop you in warm, welcoming hugs. The sense of familiarity is wonderful and I absolutely love it!
Another 5-star, thoroughly enjoyable read from Victoria Connelly.
"Natural Born Readers" is the third book in the series and we, yet again, follow Victoria Connelly's amazing world, and the amazing Nightingale family.
This story is about Bryony Nightingale and Ben Stratton. It's a second change romance, and to be honest those are one of my favorite tropes. After six years, Ben returns to town wanting to get Bryony back, and what will happen, you will have to read to see, because I don't give spoilers. Nevertheless, I love to read their moments together, it was quite fun and interesting.
It was definitely another warm story about another memory of a family full of book lovers. I was so focus on the story, on the emotional it had in each scene, that I was transported completely. I felt as if I was a part of this family, just one more time, because as soon as I was reading, it was like I was back home.
Just like in the previous novels, I loved the characters interactions, they made everything so much real. Friendship, family, lovers... We get to experience the moments page after page, even following a particular funny and extra episode around Flo. Each scene meant to catch our curiosity and get us to connect with characters and emotions.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and I think it may be my favorite one, alongside with book two. I love a good second chance story, just as much as I love a good love story about a parent and his or hers love interest. This book had a beautiful story and characters, and discover more about hem was just part of the deal, because in the end, we loved them too, and felt as we went with them through this journey.
[I want to thank Rachel, at Rachel’s Random Resources, and Victoria Connelly for the eCopy of this book, and for allowing me to join in the fun and being a part of the blog tour with my honest review of the book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.]
I give this book 3.5 stars. After reading and enjoying immensely The Book Lovers and Rules for a Successful Book Club, I was looking forward to the third installment. Whereas, it was enjoyable, I found it to be a little silly.
Ben and Bryony have been best friends and in love since grade school. They shared everything. Why then, when Ben was suspicious of his mother's new boyfriend did he not confide in his great love, Bryony? When he left Castle Clare to travel, why did he not tell Bryony that he had to go right then because the boyfriend had now beaten him? Why did he allow her to think he just had to go, whether she went or not? Why did Bryony not grasp that there was something else going on?
Bryony's ploy to exact revenge on Ben was horribly immature and silly. The Nightingales are a kind and loving family, but she was cruel to not one, but two men who cared about her. Yes, I know, good people sometimes do bad things. I was just disappointed in her actions.
I didn't feel like we got to read a lot about any of the other family members. We heard more about Flo and her nephew, Sonny, than any of the Nightingales. This was not a bad piece of the story, I just missed reading about Sam and Callie, Polly and Jago, Grandma and Grandpa, Mom and Dad, Josh and Lara ( Did I leave anybody out?) I felt like we got a better glimpse of the Nightingale family in the other books, while still centering on the main characters.
Within the last few pages, it appears that Josh will be the center of the next installment of the Book Lovers series. I will look forward to that.

What a sweet, charming romance with great characters and a wonderful setting!!!
Ben and Bryony were destined to be together. They were friends as children, and as they grew, so did their relationship. Bryony thought they would settle into their lives in Castle Clare among family. But, Ben broke her heart when he left six years ago to travel the world. Over the years, she has tried to move on, but she finds it nearly impossible. Now, he is back and he wants her back. That is easier said than done as he doesn’t realize how deeply he hurt her, but he will soon find out just how much her heart was broken.
This was such a sweet romance!!!! I loved the flashbacks to their childhood. By reading the synopsis, I was expecting to blame Ben for all their heartache. However, the author revealed that there was actually a very good reason he left. Bryony hurt him as well by not even considering going with him. I enjoyed watching their journey back to one another, and it wasn’t easy.
The author also included a bit of a side story with her neighbor that I quite liked. It gave more insight into who Bryony was as a person. She could be stubborn, unforgiving, and at times selfish. Yet, deep down, she was caring and sweet. I LOVED the interaction with her big family, the Nightingale clan. The setting was just perfect!!!!
I highly recommend reading if you love sweet romances with wonderful characters. It also is a great pick if you are a lover of books and reading!!!! I felt like it was a love letter to books!!!! Wonderful, wonderful read!!!!!
Bryony Nightingale was heart – broken six years ago when the love of her life, Ben Stratton, left her for travelling around the world. She wanted to forget him, but for 2 long years, he kept on sending postcards and gifts to her. And not just random gifts, no, foreign editions of the greatest romantic novels… But this was six years ago… Bryony is now focused on running the children’s bookshop and is ready to date again. She is even willing to date Colin The Baker, even if there is something missing… And suddenly the impossible happens… Ben is back in Castle Clare. And all he wants is to win Bryony back. Is Bryony really over Ben? And will she forgive him for abandoning her?
Another amazing part in this series! I don’t know how Victoria does is, writing so captivating stories, but keep on the work (although maybe not… because now I’m a zombie! 😆). In the previous parts, we get to know Bryony a little bit. We know that something happened with her and the mysterious Ben, but that’s a topic nobody can talk about. So I was very curious to know what happened so many years ago and what impact it had in Bryony.
And my o my… I loved this one also from start till end! I so understood Bryony her motives of acting so cold towards Ben. How would you act, when the man you loved with all your heart, just goes away, without a real explanation? AND he just expects you to forgive him? I would be angry too! Bryony feels also betrayed by her own family, as they welcome Ben back with open arms. This because he always has been part of the family, when he was a kid… Trying to find a way to escape Ben, she befriends her neighbour, Flo. And this was the real surprise of the story! Flo is a ray of joy through the whole story. She also has to cope with difficulties, but she and her animals, made me laugh each time they appeared!
This story manages to capture you from the first minute. And left me again awake during the night! All the emotions in this book got straight to my heart, aching for Bryony her pain, longing for forgiveness for Ben, a bit being vindictive together with Bryony again. Even when Bryony does not the right thing, I understood her motives and I hoped it would not be the end of it all. Because deep down, you known that she is still that heart – broken girl of six years ago… But let’s not forget about Ben… when we first meet him for real, and not by memories of the Nightingales, we sense that there was more to his leaving that everybody thought. If you are hooked to the previous parts like I was, you will LOVE this one too! A sweet story about mending broken hearts, forgiveness and a bond that is too hard to break! I just LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT!!!!
Natural Born Readers: The Book Lovers Book 3 is by Victoria Connlley. This book is set in England. It is realistic and very well written. It is a fun book to read and it is easy to read in a short amount of time. Bryony Nightingale ran the Children’s store for her family. Her brother Josh ran the current events books while her brother Sam ran the second-hand store. Their sister Polly did odd jobs and filled in on all three jobs when she could. Bryony loved her job. It was her life that needed fixing. Bryony had ben in love with Ben Stratton as long as she could remember. They spent all their time together even as to college. However, Ben decided he wanted to leave home and travel. He invited Bryony to go with him but she refused and stayed home. Ben has been gone six years. As soon as she had voiced oer noninterest in when or if he would come home, Ben came home. had been dating the guy in the bakery next door. Now she had to decide between him and Ben. Could she ever forgive Ben for his silence the past four years?
I would say that this one is my favourite of the four books in the series which I have read. I think it is because the two central characters are so engaging, especially Bryony who is full of colour and personality. I can absolutely picture her Children's Bookshop with all its life and love of books. The more you find out about Ben's reasons for leaving Castle Clare all those years ago, the more you come to understand him.
Although this can be read as a standalone, you will get more from the series if you start with Book one as the family members and a few other characters are featured in all the books as their lives move on. Reading from the beginning sets them in context. In this volume, you see Bryony's caring and considerate side as she befriends a neighbour. You also get an insight into her relationship with her father who up to now has had a slightly more background role.
The Nightingales are one of my favourite fictional families and I was looking forward threading Bryony and Bens story. I was not disappointed.
Bryony and Ben were inseparable through their childhood and into their young adult lives. Then one day, Ben decides he has to leave Castle Clare and go travelling. With very little notice, and a lot going on in her own life, Bryony opts to stay at home and nurse her very broken heart. Six years later, Ben returns and turns her life upside down. Her family are so pleased to have him return that she feels a little betrayed, how long before Bryony realises that Ben hasn't left her heart?
I could not put this book down. Now to wait for Josh or Lara book :)
Another wonderful light read for book lovers, with more happenings in the Nightingale family. How I love this fictional group. This story is based upon Bryony's life she is the eccentric children's bookshop owner. The love of her life Ben Stratton left her to travel the world six years previously but now he is back. Will the pair be able to rebuild their friendship?
Meanwhile Bryony becomes friendly with her neighbour Flo and when her great-nephew Sonny is left with the old lady Bryony is there to lend a hand.
More exciting books added to my TBR list after reading this.
I did enjoy this story and I felt like a wholesome story all round
The characters were well developed and I thought that they worked really well together.
The plot was good but I will be honest and I did think it was little long-winded in places and there was too much detail for me which threw the main story in my opinion. It could have been a little shorter which would have kept it more of a punchy read and nearer to a 5 star read.
It is 3.5 stars from me for this one, rounded up to 4 stars for Goodreads and Amazon!
There is a theme woven through this series. And after reading, what I felt was a disappointing 2nd book in the series, Now I understand. I still feel the previous book meandered to much. This one was lovely and much more succinct. Although the "Book Club" was ex silent in a lot of its story telling U just felt like it was long and drawn out. This was NOT. I still love the Nightingale family, with all their lovely , loving family business and quirks.
Another wonderful book from Victoria, she always captures you from the first page. Characters from the other books 're appear, which is like going home, reading what they have been up to. The village life, but with a mystery to unfold, in this book there are a couple.
Another excellent novel by Victoria following the Nightingale family. This one focusses on Bryony. When an old flame from the past returns to the village Bryony has to deal with feels that she has suppressed for years. Laughter and emotion thread their way through this novel. A great read that will keep you encapsulated up to the end of the book.
Heavy relationship issues , unexplained abandonment and domestic abuse. Another story from the not so sleepy Suffolk village. There is also a book club and a windy old dog. Quite infuriating in places the relationship between the two primary characters but compelling enough to keep on to the end.
Couldn't put my kindle down once I had started reading. So nice to follow a family through their ups and downs. Really hoping to read Josh and Lara's stories. Keep them coming Victoria.
However in my opinion it still didn’t have enough book shop content. Either you write a book about a bookshop if that’s what the premise is, or deter her from it if the book is about something else.
We book lovers adore Victoria Connelly’s books about those and those who own book stores or host book clubs. Thank for this addition, Victoria....I loved it
The third in the Book Lovers series, this one focuses on Bryony and the mysterious Ben. A very enjoyable story, though once again, I felt like shaking the two main characters! Just be honest with each other! Highly recommended.
Sweet but weak. Ben's absence is simply never adequately explained. This is the weakest of the three books by far. The same problems plague this book as the others, but the writing is patchier and the characters motivations less fleshed out.
I’m enjoying this series of books but this was was a bit silly in places I feel and the main character in this one, Bryony, came across as quite immature and silly and a bit mean! Not sure if Victoria was running out of steam in this one but will read the last one and see.
Ma armastan lugeda raamatutest, raamatupoodidest, tegelastest, kes naudivad raamatuid enda ümber... Seetõttu ootsin Connelly raamatust enamat. Raamatud olid laotud ümber suhete - katkenud, katkiste, õnnelike. Ja need suhted ei veennud mind. Vb kedagi teist, aga minult saab teos **
Another enjoyable book in the series, a lovely story of love, family, second chances and forgiveness. Can't wait for the stories of the other two Nightingales!
