I received an eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Book four was full of action and answered long waited questions. We found out what we wanted to about Rilla and Lord Bluebeard. The author took us on an adventure to a new world and did a great job with the world building. Rilla is the kind of person who always try to do the right thing and put others before her. Betrayal comes to her.... and we are shown just the person she is. We also learn why Bluebeard wants her as much as he does. So much happens in this book... can not wait to see where it goes from here

I Think this may be my favorite of the series so far. It was action packed, romantic in spots, dramatic, and kept me reading. Cendrilla once again finds herself captive of the half ogre Bluebeard. Many, secrets , lies and half truths are exposed in this continuing tale. She never can be sure if a friend is a friend or an enemy is an enemy.
Cendrilla has many men who want to marry her, but who is in it for love and who is in it to boost their own status. She has magic inherited from her natural parents but has no idea how to control it, or use it properly.
And why is the Snow Queen after her? You will find this out and so much more in this volume of The Perrault Chronicles, ( The Ogres ).

If you have been following the "Perrault Chronicle" by Cordelia Castel, then you will be asking the big question that looms over the latest release - "The Ogres", the fourth full length novel in the series.....Why is Cendrilla wearing a wedding dress? Has Rilla finally decided between Prince Armin and Lord Bluebeard who she loves and wants to have a happy ever after with? Like myself, many readers have chosen a favorite, but who will it be? This 5-star novel is a page turner, that will have readers hooked from the start.

"The Ogres" brings many favorite fairytales to life, including showcasing Cinderella, Jack and The Beanstalk, Old Mother Hubbard and much more. With a lead character Rilla that goes after what she wants and fights all injustices, including saving lives of many innocent victims. She doesn't hesitate to take on whatever or whoever, no matter how low her odds look, or how small her team, and continues to fight ever battle that comes her way, rather than taking the easy option out. Rilla also has a softer side, with care for her friends and team members. As well as the ongoing battle of her heart, Cordelia Castel's creative portrayal of a modern day Cinderella is captivating and evokes a connection in Rilla's journey.

In addition to a strong and wonderful lead character, "The Ogres" has a powerful plot that is full of action at every corner and full of unexpected surprises. In this addition to the "Perrault Chronicles", the story continues to develop and readers learn more about Rilla and her background, which is far from the adopted parents she grew up in. Her journey takes her to the magical realm, where she finds out about the place she had been taken from, and who her parents are, which helps explain her magical traits. What awaits Rilla in this stage is full of surprises that readers will never guess. Plus the answer on everyone's mind, why is Rilla wearing a wedding dress, and who is she marrying, comes to light? And it is not what is expected in the least!

Lovers of the "Perrault Chronicles" will not want to miss the 4th installment "The Ogres". As always, this story is best read as part of the series. I can't wait for the next installment in the series by Cordelia Castel, and find out where the next part of Rilla's journey takes her.

I reviewed this voluntarily based on receiving the novel in advance.

In this fourth book in the Perault Chronicles series, we finally find out Cendrilla's origin story - who her mother and father really are, and what happened to cause her to end up with the family she grew up with. And it's a very weird one!! Cendrilla also ends up under a boon to marry King Rhinoceros (an ogre who is really ugly with a rhinoceros horn) as a result of trickery - by her grandfather and Lord Bluebeard (again!), and has to fight her way to freedom afterwards, to try and end up with the man she truly loves (at least she thinks so!), Prince Armin. Will she succeed, will all her friends survive, and will the Snow Queen somehow interfere?
The book's excellently written and full of great characters, action, adventure, twists and turns that keep you hooked from beginning to end. I'm loving this series and cannot wait to read the next instalment to find out what happens next! Highly recommended to all Perault Chronicles lovers!

Wow...I've loved reading about Cendrilla...her fighting, the guys that love her...(I'm team Armin one min then team Bluebird the next) I love the way she's made true friend's and the way puppet boy has changed being a wolf and all. I'm glad she met her real mother and the love there...as strange as it was. She's a strong heroine and really doesn't need a man to save her but it's cool they are there. The storyline is great and I laugh at the graphic words to explain what's going on..I've enjoyed this series and hope there's more to come. I suggest you read these books in order so you understand the whole story. Can't wait for the next!

This is the best one yet.
So much happens during this book, that you are constantly on your toes, just waiting for the next surprise. You go from hating certain characters to loving them, and from loving a character to despising them. So much happens but also much is resolved, it will be interesting to see what happens in the next book. This book is very well written, it captures the essence of the King Rhinoceros fairytale but it is retold in such a way that makes it unique and very different. As you are reading you can see what seeds are being planted for the next book...Pus 'n' Boots?????

Not going to lie, Rilla can't catch a break her. In the middle of a rescue mission, she gets kidnapped (again) probably the only good thing is that she was off to learn the truth about her parents. Now if something can be done about everyone wanting to marry her.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and have voluntarily reviewed it.

The Ogres, written by Cordelia Castel, is the fourth book in the Perrault Chronicles. It is written in third-person and is from main character Cendrilla's point-of-view.

This book continues Cendrilla's story and starts exactly where book three left off. If you haven't read the previous books in the series, do yourself a favor and read those first, this book will be so much better with the rest of the story behind it.

This book answers a lot of questions we've been waiting to find out. Cendrilla's origins, Lord Bluebeard's background, and the reason why he's been so persistent in pursuing Cendrilla. It also takes us outside of the Seven Kingdoms for the first time in the series as Cendrilla journeys into Steppe. The Enchanted Realm is vastly different from anywhere Cendrilla has been before, her courage is tested, and she is forced to face some difficult truths.

If you are a fan of this series, you'll definitely want to grab a copy of The Ogres!

I've recently finished reading and beta/editing an early edition of The Ogres by Cordelia Castel and I really enjoyed it. Cendrilla, or Rilla to her friends, has taken a beating throughout each of the episodes in the Perrault Chronicles, of which this is the 4th. The Ogres is another tale of daring rescues but hard knocks and shocking revelations as well. She is betrayed by one she trusted. She is saved by one she scorned. This girl is growing up the hard way! But, as with each episode to her story, she learns some lessons, makes some sacrifices, and also makes some hard decisions. We find out even more about her history and Lord Bluebeard's. Magic is nothing to mess around with! Nor are magical creatures! I can't wait for the next installment!
