Co to była za książka! Nie chcę zdradzać fabuły, bo autorka ma wyjątkowo dobre pomysły na swoje historie i aż szkoda je spoilerować. „Tożsamość Nieznana, NN” to istny rollercoaster emocjonalny! Przy tej książce uśmiechniecie się, zapłaczecie, poczujecie motyle w brzuchu, odwrócicie głowę z odrazą, zdziwicie się, załamiecie, stracicie wiarę w ludzi, odzyskacie wiarę w ludzi, poznacie czym jest honor, zjedzą Was wyrzuty sumienia, poczujecie ulgę... krótko mówiąc, dopadną Was wszystkie możliwe emocje. Przeczytajcie, nie pożałujecie.
Moje drugie spotkanie z pisarką uznaję za niezwykle udane. I powiem jedno: Wójciak umie w kontrasty jak nikt inny!

What a bizarre book...
Till 65% it was weird. But I finished it nevertheless.
It was dual POV. And till 65% I wasn't sure how they two related.

I skipped a lot: it was multiple killings, multiple rapes, children abuse.
I don't like this trope at all.
Sometimes it looked childish writing style. Sometimes it was ok...
One star is only for suspense .

"Tożsamość nieznana NN" to nic innego jak kawał rasowego, realistycznego new adult z potężną dawką brutalnej sensacji, od którego nie można się wprost oderwać. I proszę zapamiętać moje słowa :) Spotkanie z mieszkającą na stałe w Kanadzie pisarką rozpoczęłam właśnie od tego tytułu i to był strzał w dziesiątkę, zwłaszcza dla takiej fanki historii romantycznych przeplatanych wątkami kryminalno-sensacyjnymi jak ja.

Dziewczyna z bogatego domu i chłopak z mroczną przeszłością - schemat znany i wydawałoby się mocno wyeksploatowany w literaturze gatunku, a jednak Karolinie Wójciak udało się stworzyć odbiegającą od szablonu historię, w której:

- miłość miesza się z krwią,

- młodzieńcze uniesienia i słowne przekomarzanki konkurują z poczuciem winy oraz strachem,

- dobro i próba odkupienia karygodnych uczynków walczą ze złem domagającym się ofiar.

Chciałabym dać tej książce więcej, ale nie mogę. O ile historię głównego bohatera Krystiana czytałam z zapartym tchem, tak niezmiernie irytowała mnie druga bohaterka - Lena. I uważam, że fabuła byłaby o niebo lepsza bez wątku romantycznego i połączenia tych dwojga w banalny i naciągany, według mnie, sposób. Pod koniec już przewracałam oczami z zażenowania niektórymi fragmentami, ale nie zmienia to faktu, iż uważam tę pozycję za dobrą.

Krystian was part of a loving family until his mother died. His father then became an abusive alcoholic and Krystian found himself homeless at sixteen. Looking to survive, he joined a gang only to become trapped in a world of violence; committing heinous crimes while turning a blind eye to the atrocities around him. Meanwhile, Lena is a spoiled rich girl forced to come home for the summer break by her overprotective father. Keeping Lena dependent on him, he doesn't even allow her to work. Lena is determined to spread her wings and make new friends, whatever the cost. Will these two young people discover their true selves or will their lives implode?

IDENTITY UNKNOWN is a unique novel. It's two coming of age stories told from two different perspectives and starting with two different time frames. At first I found the different times confusing. I'd be with Krystian in 2006 and then with Lena in 2015. Eventually I realized why the author did this, as the time frames and the characters intersected.

Ultimately I found this book to be about self discovery. Circumstances may force you to make changes to the way you thought things would be, even changing how you behave and who you really are. How much can you tolerate before you say no, this isn't right, and make a change? It also raises a few questions: if you fall so far from grace, should you get a second chance? Will you ever be free from your past? The choices you make determine your fate, but what happens if you want to go back? Will you be able to create a new future for yourself?

IDENTITY UNKNOWN contains graphic violence and multiple trigger situations, including rape and the killing of an animal. The characters are challenging, not always likeable. Yet their stories are compelling. You want to know what happens, and what happens is a huge shock.

It's difficult for me to review this book. On the one hand I enjoyed the book, on the other I found it a bit amateurish and there were parts I skipped. The story takes place in Warsaw and the seaside town of Sopot, Poland in 2 different timelines and features two protagonists: Krystian and Lena. Both have difficult lives with no mothers and controlling fathers. Krystian ends up kicked out by his father, trying to survive as a streetkid. Lena is home from college and her every move is followed by her father; cameras in her rooms, GPS in her car - her wealthy father wants to know every aspect of her life. Fearfully deciding to get a tattoo, she meets an enigmatic young tattooist and falls in love.
There are exciting parts that made me want to keep reading and the eventual end was exciting ... But I was left with a feeling of dissatisfaction that I can't put a finger on. It might be the translation into English didn't do the book justice, but since the setting of Poland was appealing to me, I would read Ms. Wojciak's next book.

Her life was governed and dictated by her father. She had done everything she could for years to stay away but it never lasted. He always got his way. When she come home for the summer and her friends kick her to the curb she finds new ones. On the wrong side of the tracks. That make her want more. That give her more. Control is an ugly thing and when her father finds his control slipping he does the unthinkable.

Great story. Very descriptive. My first read by this author, well it is her debut novel. It is a good story with suspense and intrigue and some action too. The characters have loads of depth and tug at the heartstrings.

Wlasnie wciagnelam “Tozsamosc Nieznana NN” od Karoliny Wojciak, a moze inaczej to ona wciagnela mnie i to do tego stopnia, ze kiedy mialam rece zajete inna praca niz trzymanie ksiazki moj kochany maz czytal ja dla mnie na glos. Troche wybujala fantastycznie, ale mi to nie przeszkadza no i ogromny plus za wspomnienie mojego ulubionego autora jakim jest Graham Masterton😘

Opisuje dwa światy ten dobry, wygodny pozornie bez zmartwień oraz ten zły gdzie każdy dzień to walka o życie. Taki trochę wyciskacz łez lecz z happy endem. Mimo wszystko warto poświęcić czas z uwagi na ciekawy styl pisania...

Nie czytałam wcześniej Karoliny Wójciak no i proszę bardzo jaka miła niespodzianka. Ta książka bardzo mnie zaskoczyła swoim prostym ale jakże miłym językiem, ciekawą historią, szybką i wciągającą akcją...po prostu ciężko mi było się od niej oderwać. Od razu sięgam po następną książkę autorki;)
