Een boek wat een beetje hit/mis was. Op punten vond ik het heerlijk hilarisch en moest ik lekker lachen (en dan vond ik Bibi nog het leukste karakter), andere stukjes wilde ik Max gewoon de dichtsbijzijnde vijver of waterplas in gooien omdat hij een egoïstische klootzak was die gemeen was tegen iedereen en een meisje specifiek (ja, zij zegt ook niet erg lieve dingen maar ze is nog steeds netter dan Max).
Ik vond Tuimel echt niks (zijn grapjes waren té gemeen) en ik snapte ook echt niet dat de jury dat gedoe OK vond maar toen Max het op een pathetische manier ook deed krijg hij op zijn kop. Lekker eerlijk jongens.
Er is ook een heel plotstuk om de verdwijning van opa en dankzij een hint wist ik waar opa was en wat er gaande was. Ik vond dit stuk erg leuk geschreven vooral omdat we eens een andere kant van Max zagen. Eentje die wel gaf om mensen.
De illustraties waren niet altijd mijn favoriet, helaas.
Maar ondanks wat dingetjes die jammer waren vond ik het toch een geinig boek om te lezen en ik heb hem ook in een ruk uitgelezen. Ik wil zeker ook de andere boeken in de serie lezen en kijken of Max misschien aardiger is in de andere boeken. Jammer dat ik wel tot April moet wachten, of moet kijken of ze een ebook hebben bij de bieb.

Ook deel 2 van Max Modderman was hilarisch. Toch zat er dit keer ook een heel serieus thema in. Je hebt Max die het moeilijk vindt om op een podium te staan. Dit zou herkenbaar kunnen zijn voor veel kinderen. En dan het feit dat opa verdwenen is.

Max heeft een nieuwe juf gekregen, als je deel 1 hebt gelezen, weet je waardoor dit is. En deze nieuwe juf wordt nooit boos! Moeilijk voor Max, hij blijft het proberen, maar ze wordt echt niet boos!

Terwijl Max zijn auditie doet voor de talentenjacht wordt hij gestoord door zijn concurrent: clown Tuimel. De jury moet de hele tijd lachen om Tuimel, tijdens de act van Max. Hier is Max natuurlijk niet blij mee. Samen met Hugo bedenkt hij een plan. Ondertussen is Bibi Nobel er ook nog om zich overal mee te bemoeien.

Wanneer Max weer thuis komt, komen ze erachter dat de opa van Max verdwenen is uit het verzorgingshuis. Ook komen ze erachter dat de andere oude mensen wel blij zijn dat hij weg is.. Max vindt dit maar gek en bedenkt weer een plan met Hugo om opa te zoeken. En weer bemoeit Bibi Nobel zich ermee. Lukt het ze om opa te vinden en lukt het ze om de talentenjacht te winnen? Dat zul je zelf moeten lezen in dit boek!

I have just discovered Matt Stanton and love his quirky, laugh-out-loud humour. Feisty young Max and best friend Hugo (not to forget Duck) will be just right for all those who love Wimpy Kid, WeirDo, Big Nate, Tom Gates and the rest!

Ik dacht eerst dat het een flauw boek zou zijn, in de trant van zoveel kinderboeken tegenwoordig. Het lijkt wel alsof de halve bibliotheek tegenwoordig uit dit type boeken bestaat. Maar goed, mijn zoon wilde dit graag lezen en daarom probeerde ik het met hem samen te lezen. Iets langdradig over de vermiste opa maar het eind maakte dat wel weer goed. Mijn zoon heeft 4 sterren, ik 3.

Brilliant year 3 - 6 easy read... Loved it but kids may need some encourage to get through the first few chapters. Quick chapters, fast moving and a bit of a mystery with a heart warming trust.

Reading with X. Lots of giggles although there are a lot of somewhat adult pieces I've had to kind of explain. We are almost halfway and I think I have it figured out, but still enjoying it. Definitely good for those kids that want Diary of a Wimpy Kid but are younger.
