When laughing kookaburras call Joey the little yellow-bellied glider out from his nest early one morning he has no idea what adventures lie ahead. But by the end of the day, when his parents find him safe and well, Joey has learned to fly, and life will never be the same again.
Attractive illustrations, but I thought the text slightly let down the overall book. The choice of the main character's name, Joey, could be confusing to many young readers who may think the name only applies to kangaroo babies (which is actually not the case, but which many may not know).
