It’s been over two centuries since Katharine’s death. To keep his heart dead and cold, Alexander works hard to build a prosperous business. With Lucious and Helena out of the picture, he is once again left with more paperwork than ever. That is until he meets a woman who challenges him at every turn.
Abigail Greene is strong-willed and always falls for the wrong guy. When she meets Alexander for an interview, she has to put on a perfect act to deter him from flirting with her. Her plan works perfectly, but what she witnesses in his club makes her doubt her sanity.
Swept away into Alexander’s dangerous world, Abigail is left tangled up in things she’d rather run from, literally. The only thing that makes her stay is the man who haunts her every thought.
*This book is part of the Helena Hawthorn Series. **It can be read as a stand alone or as part of the series. ***This book has a HEA ending.

Wow! There was a lot more going on while Lucious and Helena were dealing with the royals than I ever guessed. This book just took everything I thought I knew about this series and tipped it ever so slightly off kilter. When I first met him, I didn’t know what to think about Alexander. He’s reserved yet arrogant, so it takes a bit to acquire a taste for him. He’s now one of the characters I cherish getting to see. Abigail took some time to grow on me too. I really didn’t like the bitter, jaded, judgemental woman we’re first introduced to. I was particularly grumpy that it seemed like she was punishing Alexander for her mistakes with other men. Thankfully, she gets snapped out of this mindset before we’re very far into the book. I’m sorry for what all had to happen to make that work, but I’m very glad it came about. Their chemistry is off the charts, no matter if they’re fighting or making up. I’m very interested to see where they take us next. And, the movie theater scene at the end of this book is probably the funniest thing in the whole series. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
This is book two of the A Vampire in Love series and meets Alexander some two hundred years after he was turned into a vampire and his love Katherine died. Maxim, his sire, is busy dealing with the Russian Vampire Council, and his childe Matvey controls his main businesses. Alexander now has his own business, another club called Russian Roulette and his childe Tanya is the expert who helps design and decorate them. There is a main floor for humans and vampires to circulate, but the upper floor is for vampires and other paranormals only, where the whole reason for the name of the club comes to life. He has made no moves to love another, keeping his emotions in tight check. An old friend Jennifer sends a woman called Abigail Greene in to interview him and she dresses as drably as possible, so he hopefully wouldn’t flirt with her, as she has been told of his reputation. She doesn’t manage to get much out of him before he calls the interview to an end, but she wants to find out more about him and his club. She sticks around and ends up on the upper floor, where she witnesses a game of Russian Roulette between two vampires!
She is now mixed up in Alexander’s world and has lots of questions about what she saw, which he tries to persuade her was just a performance. Luckily her own boss Jen, knows exactly what Alexander is and keeps this secret, so helps to convince Abigail of the truth. But when Abigail goes to pick someone up from the airport, she sees something she shouldn’t and gets herself right into the middle of a pair of hunters trying to take out a vampire! She ends up calling Tanya and helps to get the vampire, Andrew to safety. She is quickly falling for Alexander and tries to pretend it would be only a one night thing, but after only one time with him, she can’t get her fill and finds him hard to resist. That is, if she can persuade him to be with her! This book fits in as a standalone read, but also fits in between books three and four of the Helena Hawthorn series. A good bit of jealousy between Alexander and Abigails’ bosses boss Glen, an incubus who ends up needing Abigail’s assistance at one point, but ends up giving her a gift for the favour. Great to see Alexander have a proper chance of love, rather than the twisted crush like love he had for Katherine, which may not have been even on both sides. I really liked Abigail’s character and her great lock picking of a pair of handcuffs, determination and strong backbone to take a chance to survive when the odds were against her! I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
Abigail Greene is a reporter doing an interview of Alexander about his club when he startles her by calling her “Abby” and asking why she wore such a long skirt. He didn’t really like her and antagonized her at every step. Her personality went from shy to forceful and he couldn’t figure her out. He offered her whiskey or scotch and almost laughed out loud when she asked for tea! This was Ireland… who doesn’t drink alcohol?? Ignoring drinks altogether, he told her to continue. But when she said his entertainment was mediocre, he stopped her again, calling her “Abby” to annoy her. He got very close to her, touched her, and enjoyed it when she jumped up and tried to leave. He blocked her way, but Tanya knocked and he moved away from her.
This is such a good story and gives the reader Abigail and Alexander’s story. Abigail is strong-willed and does not hesitate to speak up for herself. Alexander wants to remain cold and aloof, but this woman keeps him off-balance and he is drawn to her. The story line is well-paced, and learning more about Alexander is itself a reward for reading the book! Grab your copy and enjoy this well-written story. Can Abigail overcome her inhibitions and let Alexander into her heart? Can his fascination with her overcome his reluctance to allow her into his life? High recommended!
I fell in love with Alexander‘s character right from the start of the series and I hoped he would get his own lasting happy ending. And I was not disappointed. The storyline is very engaging and suspenseful, (most) of the other characters are very likable and interesting too. The tension between Alexander and Abigail is sensual and steamy with a few hot love scenes but also some tender moments. There are very unexpected and thrilling twists and turns in the plot that kept me on my toes.
Abigail is a reporter and is sent to Alexander for an interview with him. In his club she witnesses things she shouldn't know about. Although she loathes him, she also feels attracted to him. Alexander too cannot escape his attraction to her, although he tries his best to keep his distance. A connection with him could be fatal. Things get worse when the hunters get far too close and a dangerous figure from his past reappears...
A great story which will keep you hooked right from the start!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a great contribution to both the Helena Hawthorn original series, and the story that uncovers Alexander's past and backstory. After years, it looks that the lonely vampire finally met his match. Interview with Abigail changed both their lives, and as the tension between them escalates, the heat level rises. The romance burns brighter with every page, drawing the reader in and hoping for them to find a common ground. Both of them are very interesting characters. Abigail is definitely a strong spirit with even stronger will, and now a great mess in her life. Alexander, whose many layers of complicated personality we only started to uncover in the last book, finally found someone who caught his interest and woke up the gentle heart residing under a thick wall of ice. Brilliantly written story full of twists, fast pacing with lots of drama and emotion. Can be read as a standalone, although having read the main series is definitely an advantage.
This book continues Alexander's story. We first were introduced to Alexander in the Helena Hawthorn series and he always intrigued me. I wanted to know more about him because I just knew there was more to him than what was shown to us. I was not disappointed one bit. May Freighter has the ability to weave a tale and really draws you into it. Her characters are interesting and never fail to disappoint. I am hopeful that we will learn more about Tanya in the upcoming books. She is a character that intrigues me as well. It isn't necessary to read all of the Helena Hawthorn books before reading Monochrome Interview as this is a stand alone story. In fact, I feel like I want to now go back and re-read the other books since I now have more background on Alexander. I do recommend this book - actually all of Ms. Freighter's books as she is a talented writer and I promise you won't be bored!
So this is another great piece of May´s work in HH series which brings me to the point I want to say Whoop Whoop. It is full of great romance. Yup and the kisses. The hot and steamy kisses stolen in the dark or during daylight. Sighs. So melting. Romance mixes with the dark creatures. Alex is really good looking which causes another soul to fall into his web of love. :D The way he cares, the way he helps to people he considers dear, it explains a lot about his character. But I can say this book is one of those I would read in a private. So romantic it is cautious - grin splatters on face and it sticks for a while.
I really enjoyed reading this book. This is a book that falls in the Helena Hawthorn series by May Freighter, but if you haven't experienced any of the other books in this series, yet, I believe it could also be read as a standalone for the most part.
A vampire that has only really been in love once, a journalist that is just trying to do her job, and with many other supernatural creatures showing up here and there in between, this book lays out a steamy tale of affection between a human and adoration between the two. If you're a fan of paranormal reads with a bit of romance and danger combined, you may want to give this series a try.
My review is on Monochrome Interview (A Vampire In Love Book 2) Written by May Freighter
Wow. I enjoyed each page. The struggling reporter up against the sexy frustrated Vampire. What else can you ask for? Abigail and Alexander, can they work out their difference before it is too late. She would kill him, if she didn’t fall for him or does she. Even when she found herself locked in a pair of hand handcuffs, they didn’t hold her for long or the closed window. He cannot stand her, as she is not his type or is she? Great book and even better series. Cannot wait for the next book to download.
The second book focusing on Alexander was just as good. And sassy characters are not lacking. This time we come in the middle of the HH series and Alexander happens to share is point of view on what’ happening. But again this does not mean there is a need to read all HH before this (small spoilers can be encountered but no misunderstanding). What really amazed me here is how the connections are tying Alexander to his fate. And knowing the definition of the world it has some importance. I loved to see another side of Tanya and how she gat attached to Abigail. It is also funny to see some of the other characters from another side altogether. In this book love is curse and blessing.
As expected, I thoroughly enjoyed this vampire love story by May Freighter as she continues with the loves and heartbreaks of one alpha vampire, Alexander and the members of his close circle. The book spotlights the many aspects of his love for family, friends, and certain humans. This time there are no tremendously graphic or grisly battle scenes for readers to be aware of, although it would benefit them if have read book 3 in the Helena series to catch up on several things discussed in this book. This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Booksprout.
May Freighter‘s Monochrome Interview (A Vampire In Love Book 2) plays an important role in the author’s Helena Hawthorn series, where it is effectively Volume 3.5. For finally Alexander gets his well deserved HEA. I strongly recommend reading this together with Alexander: Memoirs (A Vampire In Love Book 1), as that story sets the stage for this book to take off from. A wonderful romance. A wonderful story - and a nice hook into the Helena Hawthorn series at the end.
OOO!! this series gets better and better. This is the second book I have read. Of course it is out of order. But is is exciting, dangerous, and so caring too. I love Alexander. His love for his child and the others he has let into his life. I need to see if I can get the rest of the series. Wish me well. Have a good time reading and try not to forget what time it is. This was the 2nd book in the series. I fell in love with the characters and the story as it unfolded as well as I did with the first one. I was so excited to be able to read this book. This book can be read as a stand alone book but I would recommend it to be read as a series. I recommend this book to everyone who loves a great vampire romance.

I loved the dynamic between Alexander and Abigail in this book! The aloof almost rude attitude from Alexander does not get Abigail down and she stands up for herself when she needs to. The chemistry and attraction is off the charts and their getting together was inevitable! I love this author and I would highly recommend this book to all!

This is the 2nd book about Alexander’s life and book 3.6 in the Helena Hawthorn Series. This story is about Alexander’s lost love and the reason why he has harden his dead heart until he meets her. I’m not giving any spoilers but you can read May’s blurb and that will give you the gist of the story. I highly recommend this book it’s well worth the read.

After reading the first book about his past, it is fun to read this second book showing him find unexpected love. They make quite a pair with neither giving in easy to the passion they feel.
I recommend reading both of the book about him to really get a better understanding of who is is and what events made him become so cautious of his heart.
After reading Alexander: Memoirs, I was eager to learn more about his life. The sassy Abigail is a match for Alexander and I cant wait to continue the journey in this world. if you like supernatural creatures and sexy men, please read this. I read it in one setting.

This continuation of Alexander's story is riveting. You are drawn into the story from the first page. May Freighter weaves a tale that is so well written, it's as if you are there with the characters. Loved this story. I highly recommend this book.
