Contact of the two of the survivors living behind the Wall with the hover fleet develops to an outstanding level, the discovery of how the Grunge is created by them and their purpose is one of the misteries unveiled. An easy and fast read, a very motivated girl, will she turn out as a heroine who saves the planet and the settlement? Looking forward to the soon to release sequel!

Trail is as well written and exciting a follow up as the Wall! Colony B must decide whether to allow Connor and a team to pursue the outsiders, whoever they may be, that have taken two of their own, Connor's daughter and another youth.
The settlers have an elected council to make important decisions. They are, by and large, a law abiding society with few internal problems to date. Now what matters most to Connor, their head of security, is before the council, the fate of his family. Will Connor abide by the decision or will he attempt to retrieve his daughter no matter the ruling? If he does pursue the strangers across the forbidding and deadly lowlands, will he succeed? How will he survive the Grunge?
The leader of the settler's "strangers", Dr. Teare, is just learning that one of her team members has added two colonists to their "truck" as they call their vehicles. Now she is faced with a decision of what to do with the young adults. To return them to their home would throw her team far behind schedule. Is keeping them, perhaps against their will ethical? What will be her call?

This is a grat addition to this series
The Trail is a good continuation of the Colony B series. I enjoyed it, but I would have liked it to be longer. I recommend this book to sci-fi fans. It continues the story of The two young colonists, the settlers, and the company workers and their interwoven stories. The story is complex and I plan on continuing this series.

The Trail is the second book in the Colony B serialised story by Mikey Campling. It does a fantastic job of keeping the reader just as engaged in this engrossing narrative, as they are in the first instalment. Moving the story forward with a good pace, and providing just enough additional detail to keep the readers curiosity flowing, it is highly recommended.

Great read! Reminded me of old time Sci fi but with realist characters. No one great hero, just people trying to life a life in very rough circumstances.
