Contract Killers #2

Unconditionally: A Novel

Rate this book
In a world where marriage doesn’t exist—only seven-year contracts—you don’t marry, you sign. You don’t divorce, you breach. And sometimes, you just expire.

In this hilarious conclusion to Erin Lyon's I Love You Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions, Kate has accepted a job practicing signing law, the one type of law she swore she'd never do - especially since what she thought was her very own happily ever after turned into just another expired contract. But between Kate's embarrassing penchant for running into exes in court, clients determined to use her as their very own therapist, and a couple having a knock-down, drag-out over the custody of the family guinea pig, at least the job's never boring.

But while Kate finally has a handle on her career, her love life is still, well, complicated. The former love of her life, Jonathan, wants her back. Her current main squeeze, Dave, wants to take things to the next level, but she still can't shake her wolf-in-sheep's-clothing vibe about him. And then there's Adam, her mad crush who really wants to be her friend. So, to sum up, one questionable ex, one player with a capital "P," and one guy who's kind of stolen her heart even though she's in the friend zone. This should be a piece of cake.

Unconditionally is both a sweet and sexy romantic comedy and a hilariously relatable look at finding happiness where you least expect it.

UNCONDITIONALLY is the follow-up to last year's I Love You Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions (Read my review), which was one of my favorite reads of 2017!

Erin Lyon's funny, romantic, and unique duet is a contemporary romance junkie's dream. The two main leads communicate openly with each other and have a great friendship. Kate says exactly what's on her mind. I love the way Adam cares for her and how he shows it. If you're a lover of romantic comedies like me, then these are the books for you.

For the last 11 months, I've been slowly dying inside because I haven't had this book in my hands. You guys, I DEVOURED Unconditionally in a matter of hours. I tore open the package upon arrival and didn't put the book down until I was finished! This book picks up right where I Love You leaves off, so if you've read it then you understand the weight of that statement (Read: it ends in a delicious cliffhanger). In I Love You, I fell in a disgusting kind of love with Kate and Adam. There is just something about them that makes me happy when they're together, even if it's just as friends (*sad face*).

In Unconditionally, we see Kate navigating her new life as an associate in her uncle's signing law firm and her single status. She's no longer with her partner Jonathan, and she's not really sure about Dave either. Her heart really belongs to Adam (*swoon*), but he's somewhat emotionally unavailable to her.

I love Kate, you guys. I want to be her friend. I want to go over to her house and drink wine with her and Logek out of her tiger-striped wine glasses. I want to go out dancing with her. I'd even put up with her ruining dinner (#RedemptionChicken). It's refreshing to read a book character who isn't overly melodramatic or living a fantasy life that us lowly peasants can't relate to. I think that's why I like her so much—she is relatable and I could see myself being friends with her.

Of course, my favorite moments in the book involve Adam. It's actions that often speak louder than words, right? Well, that's what I loved about Adam. Even when he couldn't express how much he cared for Kate, he definitely showed it by being there for her. There are some moments between these two friends that just made my heart melt. I just wanted them to be together SO MUCH! Will they or won't they?
“I think you might be cremating the chicken.”
...The smoke detector immediately started blaring with alternate high and low tones, both equally annoying. I grabbed a bag and began trying to help Adam fan the smoke away from the alarm, but the damn thing wouldn’t turn off. Adam rushed back into the kitchen and began opening drawers until he found a couple oven mitts. After slipping them on, he grabbed the pan of chicken from the oven and took it out onto the back porch. And, for the most part, the smoke seemed to follow him. He set the pan down on the porch railing farthest from the door and came back inside. He was grinning at me when he grabbed his bag and, once again, began fanning the smoke toward the back door.
I was smiling back at him because I knew I wasn’t going to hear the end of this from him and because this was the most fun I’d ever had giving my dinner a Viking funeral.

Kate's new landlord is Adam's mother, which gives Kate a chance at a direct examination into the world of Adam. As Lyon promised, we are given more insight into Adam's motivations and why he shies away from commitment. While the reason isn't anything I didn't see coming, it does shed some light into where he is emotionally.

If I could ask for one thing in this book it's that I wanted more moments with Adam. This might be a selfish request from me but also one that I think the novel needed. The stories about her clients in and out of court were entertaining and hilarious but I really wanted more time with him. Even though I loved these two books, I feel like this love story might have been able to be condensed into one story and still maintain its magnetic quality. I enjoyed the "fluff" in this book (and in the last one) but some of it didn't necessarily need to be there.

I'm already patiently awaiting whatever Erin Lyon comes up with next. Until then, I will be rereading these books. I've already read the ending of Unconditionally multiple times since I first finished it in November. I can't recommend these books enough. And if you've read them and you loved them, share the love and tell a friend.

Adorei!!!
Adam... Foi, desde o primeiro livro, tudo...
Gostei da escrita, cativa-nos.

I was a bit frantic a couple of days ago when I finished the first book in this series and found out that the second had not been released yet (it will be on January 9th). I requested this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review, even though I hadn't used Netgalley in 3 years. Maybe I was more than a little bit frantic. I downloaded this, put aside the book I was reading, and jumped right in. I just had to know what Kate was going to do next.

This book was as much fun as the first. Ms. Lyon's dialogue is hilarious and clever. I read so much of this book with a smile on my face. I always find Kate's inner commentary to be a bit jarring at first but it doesn't take me long to settle in and appreciate all of her thoughts. Kate is just as honest in this book as she was in the last, which is my favourite thing about her. She doesn't play games and even though she's still juggling her feelings for 3 men, she never tells them anything but the truth and I freaking LOVE her for it.

I did find myself wondering a few times if this story could not have been told in one book instead of two. Some of it seemed repetitive and also, since I had just finished the first book, the recapping seemed unnecessary. I may have felt differently had I read them a year apart, as they were released. Now that I'm finished, I was happy for that extra time with Kate, her men, her clients, and her friends. The lawyer-y stuff was immensely entertaining and I think I could read about her interaction with her clients all damn day. Her personal life, was not quite as fun as the first book (but her work life made up for it) because I feel like we'd been there before. I also really missed her time with my favourite guy. I wish they'd been on the page more together. Having said that, where it all ended up was so worth it. It was such a perfect ending that I've re-read it 3 times since finishing. Seriously, I could kiss Ms. Lyon for that. She squeezed my heart so much.

If you love a fun, contemporary romance, you need to get on this.

Last year I couldn't wait to get my hands on this sequel right after the cliffhanger ending in I Love You Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions. It was one of those situations where I wanted to scream and run around because that's how much I cared about the characters.

Unconditionally was such a breeze to read. The easy humour, absurd situations and amusing dialogues made it impossible not to laugh while reading. My only slight disappointment was with the romance. There was a shift in focus from the spotlight on Kate's love life to all sorts of other dysfunctional relationships in the world. They were entertaining to read about but I really wanted more Adam and Kate moments. The few that we got didn't quite satisfy my need.

Kate is the loveliest of characters. I loved everything about her. Her frustration, her confusion, her hesitations and even her inner snarky tone were real and relatable. She made the best with whatever life threw at her. Even during the tough times and emotional moments she held true to herself and was fair to others.

Becoming a signing lawyer had its ups and downs. Despite her life-long refusal, Kate was a star. Her inner voice was sarcastic as heck but she kept them all to herself proving she was more than capable to be mature about her new job. Kate handled her cases professionally and treated her clients with respect and without prejudice. I'm a fan of the tv show Suits so I thoroughly enjoyed all the legal proceedings in Unconditionally. I loved reading about Kate doing her job.

Of all the guys in Kate's love life, Dave was a real eyesore. I just couldn't muster up any feelings except extreme dislike for him. Besides him every other side character were agreeable and fun. Logek and Mags were supportive besties to Kate.

Unconditionally was full of humour and heart. Readers of contemporary romance must not miss out on the fun that is the Contract Killers duology. I'm eagerly looking forward to what Ms. Erin Lyon brings us next~

I was beyond excited to get to be on the Unconditionally book tour after reading the first in this series. Not only was I Love You Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions an amazing read, but it was also a cliff-hanger of sorts. So, to say that I've been eagerly anticipating Unconditionally, is an understatement.

All of the things I loved about the Ms. Lyon's freshman novel, were here, in spades!

Kate's completely endearing friendship with Logek is still an integral part of this story. What would a girl do without some amazing girlfriends?
These two seem to be soulmates, and written completely compatible with each other.

Also, my appreciation of how vulnerable-yet-tough Kate can be--hasn't changed a bit. There's no doubt in my mind that Ms. Lyon knows her characters. They all only got stronger in Unconditionally. Growing, ever-so-slightly as the story progresses.

One of the things I actually really appreciated about this story was how much more of Kate's job, the reader was able to experience. In the first, she was just starting--and seemed to be more consumed with the three men in her life.
Here, Kate seemed to be doing her best at being the best attorney possible. And, there were some really humorous moments in there thrown in!

With a happy ending (depending on which man you were rooting for), lovable characters, and incredibly talented writing, Unconditionally is a book that no one should miss!

I am sad my binge-read of this series is over, however, I just COULD NOT seem to put it down until the very end. I read both books basically in one day... thank goodness for a husband who puts up with my need to read!

I agree, with most other readers that this book probably could have been condensed into one. But honestly, I got so wrapped into Kate's world that I didn't mind at all. I think if I had read the first book, I Love You Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions, before the second one was out though I would have been annoyed at the waiting game. Since I didn't have to wait though (due to my own diligent waiting to read book #1) I absolutely loved all the side lawyer stuff. I was laughing so hard at the crazies Kate was dealing with!

Some possibly spoiler-y thoughts:
-------------------------------

+ My heart really did break for Jonathan for a lot of book #1 and #2. I totally got why Kate reacted the way she did and had that big change of feelings (due to his failure to re-up) BUT man would that suck to be him. He was a genuinely good guy who went through a mid-life-crisis and it ended up ruining something super great. I felt torn just like Kate and could really feel his pain as well. The only times I really felt emotion while reading this book were during their time together and especially their final breakup... I legit had tears well up in my eyes. This is not to say that I wasn't happy with the ending, because I was, I just did like & sympathize with his character.
+ Dave just freaked me out pretty soon after he started to actually care (but did he?) about Kate. I didn't mind him at first & found him endearing up to a certain point of his pursuit. After that I kept waiting for him to do something super creepy or act abusive because he just seemed kind of unhinged. Every time she was with him I was on high-alert! Eek.
+ Adam was super frustrating at times but I couldn't help but root for him & Kate up until the end. I do wish that there had been a few more scenes between them leading up to the big moment because I think I needed to feel more of his shift & self-realization. As good as that moment was I feel like I wanted a little more explanation.

This was a fun and entertaining read. The story picks up right where the first book ends. There was a little rehashing of book one that was tolerable and maybe not needed. The side characters were all there and their presence added to the humor and like ability of the story. Even though I can’t relate to Kate, I find her mesmerizing and I want to just hang around her. This again makes this book a fast read.

The flaw for me in this book was that in book one we spend our time with Kate’s interaction with her three potential boyfriends. In book two we spend very little time with these guys and more with Kate being a lawyer. While the lawyerly stories are funny and enjoyable they create an imbalance with the flow of the series as a whole. Overall I give this two book series, two thumbs up! I’m looking forward to reading more by this author. Highly recommended.

What is this stupid smile doing on my face at 6:30 in the morning? I loved this conclusion to Kate's story. And, the unicorn was perfect. Gotta love contract killers.

I highly recommend this series if you want to have a goofy smile on your face or if you need a quick, unputdownable series to put you in a great mood. I loved it.

I absolutely adored I Love You Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions and when I found out that their was going to be a sequel I couldn't wait to get my hand on it, especially after reading that cliffhanger.Unconditionally was filled with amazing dialogue, hilarious moments, and intriguing characters. The only thing that I was a little disappointed with was the romance portions of the book. I really wanted to read more about Adam and Kate, and their moments together, so much so that the moments that were written in didn't seem to completely satisfy my need for more Adam and Kate moments.

At the end of the day, the Contract Killers duopoly was so much fun to read. I would definitely recommend this book if you love reading hilarious characters and captivating romances.

The first book - I Love You Subject To The Following Terms and Conditions, was one of my favourite reads of this year (it came out in 2017).

Unconditionally isn't quite as good but it was still enjoyable and didn't disappoint.

Most of my love for this book comes from the characters who are grown ups. It's surprising how refreshing it is to read about grown up with full time jobs and general guy and house problems.

There was a point that did feel like situations were being juggled; work, text, court, guy pops over, work, text guy pops over repeat but the goings on within these moments all had their own purposes so it worked out.

Anyways, the story picks up right where it left off and though part of me wonders why it wasn't just one complete story, I was happy to take two mouthwatering bites.

I was excited to get back to this cast of characters. I stayed up way too late to finish reading this the day I got it. I like Kate and how she grows as a person and still stays true to herself. It was fun to watch her navigate her clients and her romantic relationships. While all the plotlines got tied up in a neat bow at the end, it would be fun to have more stories from this world - maybe explore a secondary character? Hope the author writes more fun books in the future. Nice to have a romance that had the usual happy ending without being so predictable that you feel you are wasting your time reading the book.

I enjoyed this book but not as much as the first book. I felt like the focus in the first book was more on Kate's love life, and the focus of this book seemed to be more on Kate's job as a signing attorney. Don't get me wrong, I found the crazy clients entertaining but I really wanted to read more about the guys!

Overall I enjoyed this 2 book series. It was very well written and entertaining. I'll definitely be reading more from this author.

I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

In the Contract Killers series, the world is much the same as today, but with one big difference: there is no such thing as marriage, instead people ‘sign’ with someone. This is basically the same as marriage only, like most contracts there is an end date; 7 years. After 7 years is up you can either part ways or re-up the contact for another 7 years.

Unconditionally is the second (maybe the last?) book in the Contract Killers series and starts just where we left off in the first book. So, if you haven’t read I Love You Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions you will need to pick that up first. We dive straight back into Kate’s world, where she is in the middle of a love square as well as keeping up with her crazy clients in her job as a signing attorney.

There were elements of Unconditionally I really liked, such as her antics as an attorney in signing law and the hilarious scraps that her clients find themselves in. I also thought Kate was a good heroine, she was smart and funny and seemed like just the kind of gal you would want as a friend. But these aspects of the book were outweighed by what I didn’t like.

This book read more like a list of events that had happened to Kate rather than as an interesting and engaging story. It  meandered through a few weeks of her life with seemingly no direction. We see Kate go to work. Kate goes home. Kate sees her friends. Kate pines after Adam - the forerunner in the love square. The whole book continues like this until Kate finally couples up with someone – I won’t say who – in the last 2% of the book. It was so abrupt, I thought that once again it was going to end with no clear conclusion regarding Kate’s love life. Then BAM it all sorts itself out with such a quick 180 from one of the characters (I don’t want to give spoilers!) that I was in danger of whiplash. This wasn’t story telling at its best.

I am not sure if this series is continuing or if it is duet, Kate’s story has concluded (I guess?) unless we are going for a meander into coupledom with her and her man. I won’t be in a rush to read anything further in this series; although I liked the characters in this I thought the romance was weak and I am still looking for a plot.

Can I just say meh!?
It is probably me but I just don't find it funny.
The heroine annoyed me...
Could the angst BE build up?! sure but it didn't happen. the ending just felt rushed, so much that when I saw that the ending was approaching (by the few pages left) and felt like it would end in another cliffhanger...but it didn't, there is closure here.
And prepare yourself for a happy ending to everyone in the village...cheesy style...
There are more lawyer stuff and lots of crazy clients.
And I still was annoyed by the confusion between texting and thinking...

I remembered really liking the first book in this series (I Love You Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions) and this was every bit as good and charming as I hoped it'd be! Kate is a lawyer practicing "signing law" in a world where marriage doesn't exist but people "sign" seven year contracts at a time; she deals with clients where one of them has breached the contract. Her job is keeping her on her toes, but she likes it more than she expected, and her personal life is so complicated she isn't sure what's going on. Picking up where the last book left off (so slight spoilers for that coming up...), she's kinda seeing a guy named Dave, who wants a relationship but something about him makes her skeptical; her ex, Jonathan, who shocked her by deciding not to renew their contract, now wants her back; and she is falling in love with her new best friend, Adam, who doesn't like commitment and wants to just be friends.

This was completely enjoyable from start to finish! For anyone looking for a lighthearted, entertaining novel, I would highly recommend this (starting with the first book in the series). Kate was funny without being irritating, and I love the storylines focused on her work and her personal life equally - it was all just plain entertaining. I liked the friendships between Kate and her various male friends/possible suitors, and I loved the friendships between Kate and her female friends. Everyone seemed to have their own personality and felt real, regardless of how small a role they played. All the interactions were so fun and I never knew quite what would happen next.

The plot moved forward at a perfect pace and was engaging and funny throughout. Somehow Kate's clients all seemed to be filled with drama and craziness, which Kate chalked up to being in signing law where everyone who needs her service is miserable. It doesn't help that they all seem to somehow like her in a way that she can't explain and continually contact her for every little thing! The romance in here, too, was a lot of fun. It was the main plot of the book, but it didn't seem overdone by any means and I kept wondering how it'd all wrap up. It played out well and I really enjoyed the journey traveling to the end.

The last book in this series ended on a cliffhanger (which I usually hate, but I liked the book too much otherwise to quibble), so I knew there'd be a follow-up. This book ended with everything nicely tied up, so I assume this is the end of the story, which is too bad. Although the storyline is complete, I want to read more!! I suppose that's just the sign of a really good book! Definitely one of the best chick lit novels I've read. Can't wait to see what the author puts out next!

**You can see this full review and more at Book Briefs: https://bookbriefs.net**I Love You Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions is the first book in the adult romantic comedy series called Contract Killers by Erin Lyon. I loved this book. As soon as I read the title, I knew I was going to love this book. (The title still cracks me up.) I love you,  Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions (hereinafter "I Love You") (see, I can be lawyer funny too...) is set in a world where the concept of marriage has turned into a series of seven year contracts. At the end of your contract term, you and your partner can choose whether or not to re-sign for another term of years. How romantic, right? This book is marketed as, "27 Dresses meets Bridget Jones’s Diary for the millennial set", which I think is spot on. I really really enjoyed every moment of this book. In fact, when I got to the last page, I kept trying to turn for more. I need more!

I'm really hoping that the contract killers series is going to be several books long, focusing on lots of different "contract killers" or men that only go after women that have signed a contract with another man. But I know it will be at least two books long because our main character's story is not finished yet. I am dying to find out what is going to happen with Kate. I really like her. When we first meet her, she is pretty happy with the way her life has turned out. Until her jerk of a partner decides that he is not going to re-up their contract. Kate's journey is just so darn relate able. Whether it is on the newly single level, or on the trying to find a job/career level, something about Kate and this book will have you nodding along. I loved getting to know Kate. We would be great friends!

I completely adored Adam. I didn't think I was going to love him right away, but he totally won me over. I am so excited that we get to see another book and I am hoping for tons of Adam in it. This book left off at a killer cliffhanger, and I am itching to get my hands on the second book in the series. I think I love you is the perfect novel for fans of witty romances with tons of humor and lots of heart. This book needs to be made into a movie. The whole time I was reading I Love You, I was seeing it unfold on the big screen in my mind. I can't wait to read more from Erin Lyon because she totally sold me on this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Ngl I never thought I would read an Adult Romance book because every time I think of Adult romance, I can't help but think of Fifty Shades of Grey and I never read it but even the thought of it makes me cringe.
So I was a bit sceptical when I picked up the first book in this duology and I was surprised when I didn't end up hating it. I mean, sure there were characters that got on my nerves but I finished it in a few hours and enjoyed it nonetheless.
I was more surprised (if that's even possible?) when I picked this one up and realized that I was loving it. Me - the girl who hates romance - was loving an adult romance book but I guess maybe it's because there were more things than the romance in the book.
I love that this book has everything that I like including female friendships, friends to lovers trope and a sassy female character who is focused on career. Let's break this review down to them, shall we?

Female Friendships:
There were so many female friendships in this book. Every girl is so supportive of another and they're literally so kind and sweet to each other that it warmed my stone cold heart. I love Logek and Kate's friendship and I also love Mags who is the sweetest person!

Sassy Main Character:
Kate is such an amazing main character! I love how smart and intelligent she is and sassy too! She knows that she's intelligent and she accepts that and I love the career aspect of her life that's in the book because there's lots of it and ngl i haven't read that many books with lawyers in it so it was refreshing and fun reading her dealing with all the crazy clients and dramas and giving relationship advice when her own love life was going downhill.

Friends to Lovers:
I mean, you're a weird ass human being if you read this book and are not attracted to Adam Lucas. He's good looking AND he's the sweetest, kindest and warmest person. He's caring and respectful and so so fictional. Also, he has dimples so.... *heart eyes*
I don't know why but I always thought that in adult books you always jump into a relationship but theirs was so slow. It isn't unpredictable because I knew it was gonna happen but I still loved reading them having conversation likes best friends and falling for each other.
Did I tell you how much I love their banter? They have hilarious conversations and it's so fun to read them!
.
If you haven't gotten it by now, I LOVED this book! It's such a feel-good book so if you're looking for something like that, I highly recommend this one!

4.5 stars. I was very pleased with how this book wrapped up the story from book one, I Love You *Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions. It's been almost exactly a year since I read the first book, but the way the author started this one, she quickly gave you a review of what had happened before, but it was done in such a seamless way, it was just a natural part of the story that didn't stand out as an info dump at all. It got me right back into the story, and I was quickly sucked back in and it became hard to put down to go to work, sleep, you name it.

Once again I loved all the characters, and I was glad that Kate was strong about telling Adam she couldn't be just friends with him. I think he needed that. And I like that she was straight-forward with Dave, even if his past womanizing ways made him not quite understanding. I began to not dislike Jonathan as much either. So the way it all ended for Kate, with her three men, was the perfect ending.

We got to meet a lot of interesting clients in the first book, I mean Kate got punched! But the characters in this one, wow, they were so hilarious! You get a glimpse of one of them in the excerpt above. In the end, Kate figures out what she is best at, and if contract law will be for her.

A great couple of books. I would totally love more, maybe we could see the contract killer we have left at the end get his happy ending? I don't know. But I really enjoyed this. I look forward to reading more books by Erin Lyon in the future.

I loved this book. I found the first book last March on my birthday - I read it in a few hours and almost died when I realized I would have to wait to find out the ending. I have been stalking B&N for the pub date and there has been no one more excited to find out what happens next
The short version? It was awesome. The longer version: I love Kate - I want to be her friend, I want to hang out with her, I worried over her relationship with Dave. I like her friends, I like her style, I like her life. And I love that her life doesn't make me feel bad about.my own. As a paralegal, I loved the glimpses of legal life and was glad Lyon didn't gloss over both the mundane (research, billing, cutting and pasting from other docs!) And the absurd (arguing with your client when they should take the deal or the petty things people fight over).
I have read other reviews where they complain about the lack of page time between Kate and her happy ending. While I love her hero to bits, I think Lyon made the right choice not having them together more. I would defend that position harder but I don't want to spoil the ending for anyone else.
I loved this series, I loved the book, and I can't wait to see more from Lyon. Especially if they are strong women in the legal field kicking butt and taking names.

As with the first book, 'I Love You* Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions', I am still in awe of the creative mind of Ms Lyon. The premise of Contract Marriages is brilliant with plenty of fodder for unlimited stories of Kate and her uncanny ability to bring hilarity and chaos into her life.

Every bit as engaging as the first book, the dialog, banter, and wit are unparalleled in their entertainment value. It's terribly easy to loose yourself in Kate's world with its cast of intriguing and oftentimes quirky characters. I can honestly say that once I started the story, I didn't put it down until done...oh, unless I was laughing so hard I had to take a break! There are several heartbreaking moments as well which give you pause as to the range of emotions that this author is capable of creating for the reader in one story.

One can only hope that there will be further stories involving Kate and her unparalleled and hilarious view of signing law and the role she plays in the revolving door of characters who will continue to weave through themselves through her life.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

*This ARC was received in exchange for an honest review*

This is the story of Kate who has accepted a job in contract law even though she had always refused to go into that practice.  She also has an ex... Jonathan, who it seems wants to get back together, then there is Dave, he just wants more, and finally there is Adam, it seems that Kate has had a crush on Adam for some time now but Adam just wants to keep it in the friend zone.

I liked the characters especially Adam, he and Kate seemed really great together.

I would recommend reading the first book in the series "I Love You Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions", as this one ended in a cliff hanger and followed through into book two.

I can't wait to see what comes next from Erin Lyon.

A very satisfying ending to the alternate universe tale of short-term marriages ("signings") begun in I Love You Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions. The legal hijinks were entertaining, the conflict in the relationships rang true and the heroine (and her friends) were all well drawn. My minor quibble is still over too many names beginning with "D" (Daniel, Drew, David) but that's easily overcome in future works by Erin Lyon and I hope there will be future works by Ms. Lyon. She has a lot to offer the romance reading community.

I fell into this second book of the series sans the prior book. I say "fell" as I finished it off in a few hours with only minor pauses. The writing is quickly paced and the dialog is realistic. I enjoyed the many characters - all of which were fleshed out enough to draw interest, while the focus stayed on Kate, our somewhat muddled, but-getting-her-act-together heroine. Really enjoyed the book and look forward to more by author, Erin Lyon.
