After all, the duke has fought two duels in the past for lesser reasons. In this sweet Regency romance, Lady Anna Maria Copley has also been struck by cupid's arrow and has fallen in love with Gareth and will wed no one else. However, her brother's opposition may prevent her from ever marrying the man she loves. And she has a secret that very well may kill the love affair when Foxdown learns of it.Add a suitor determined to have Anna's dowry and you have a shocking mix of 'who marries whom?"

Gianna has been in love with Historical Romance/Mysteries, and especially Regency Romance, for many years. But it wasn’t until 2013 that she started writing in this genre.
Gianna discovered Pride and Prejudice, and its many variations, what ifs and fan fiction. She was totally fascinated by the variety of plots that eager authors had utilized. After reading several of these fascinating books, she realized why others loved them and Jane Austen’s books so well.

Gianna was aware of the storyline of Pride and Prejudice after reading it many years ago and seeing the 1940’s movie as well as the 2005 movie with Keira Knightley and Matthew MacFadyen. She loved the 2005 movie and the musical score. Yes, the movie wasn’t 100% accurate, but isn’t the goal to entertain and touch the heart? And this movie touched her heart and helped her to appreciate more the talent of Jane Austen.

Rereading Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice has given her greater insight into Ms. Austen’s genius in depicting different personalities and situations and the society of her day. As a mature adult, Gianna sees much more in her books now than ever before.

After reading nearly 200 variations and fan fictions, Gianna now had P&P plots running through her head. She finally decided that they needed to be put to paper (today, on the computer), to see how they would develop. She is having an absolute ball in writing about Darcy and Elizabeth and is pleased with how things are developing. Her goal is to entertain and touch hearts. Hopefully, with her first rendering 'Darcy Chooses', she achieved that goal and touched your heart also.

More recently, Gianna started looking beyond Pride and Prejudice, with her first foray into Regency Romance generally, with The Four Lords’ Saga Series.

Gianna Thomas is a ghostwriter of poetry and e-books who became a widow after twenty-two years with her very own Mr. Darcy, who was her second husband. She lives a quiet life in a small Illinois town with her cats and loves to read regency romance, Jane Austen’s works and the many variations done by other lovers of Pride and Prejudice.

If you haven't had a chance to read Gianna Thomas's books, be sure to read her Four Lords series. They are great. I love Lord Foxdown and how she builds the characters and intertwined you within their lives! I'd have loved to have lived there too. Wonderful book, great read!

A fairy tale for those who like old fashioned romances.

This story is more a novella than a novel and I think the author slanted it more to what she believes young women would prefer life to be like now instead of so realistic and raw. All of the characters are royals in one way or another, so their lives are beautiful, wealthy and dedicated to the finer things of life. The four lords in this series have spent their lives sleeping around with loose women, widows where they can come and go. They never intend to marry until forced to by their parents who want their family positions and names to carry on. In this saga, Foxdown falls In love with his friend’s sister, Anna, and it is love at first sight for both of them. His friend, who is now married and knows Foxdown’s background, doesn’t want him to marry Anna, but Anna’s mother really likes Foxdown and is for their marriage. Foxdown has to leave Anna alone for a year, and prove that he has given up other women before he can get his friend’s approval to marry Anna.

Although being faithful only to Anna for a year seems simple enough, I really doubt in real life if that would have been required or even if one of those men could remain faithful totally. It really wasn’t the times for such as it isn’t now unless religion is involved. But it make for a good romance, perhaps more as a YA genre and allows young women to dream

Lord Foxdown (Gareth) is an unapologetic rake. He does exactly what pleases him and worries about no one else.
His friends, all Lords themselves respect him as a gentleman and the best of friends, but they also know he is a first rate rakehell.
That is until he meets Anna. She happens to be the sister of one of his best friends. The friend is Crispin (Crisp) Alan Copley, the Duke of Weirlane.
He knows Gareth better than anyone and knows he is not good enough for his sister.
He has led a debauched life and Crisp is not certain Gareth could ever change. nor would he want his sister hurt by someone he considers like a brother.

But Gareth already has changed. He falls very quickly for Anna, not knowing she holds a secret. She falls for him as well.
Anna's mother is very happy to see this love blooming, but Crisp will have none of it until Gareth proves his worth!
Anna is to have a season before anything is settled and in that time Gareth must remain celibate!
Gareth is blind with love for Anna and agrees.
The 2 of them are put through much to achieve their goal of marriage.
Other Lords of the 4 come and go in this story and I like the comradery of the group.
I felt like this book looked more at the man Gareth and not just how unaccountable and useless a Lord can really be.

Very well done!
Great writing and a wonderful story to add to my re-read list!

Good storyline but

I did enjoy this storyline but the "experiment" with Corina and Jules left realm of reality. Would never happen with the fathers consent or the voyeur brother looking on. This could have been handled differently and with more propriety. I am getting used to the authors simplistic outline storytelling. It's just her style. I will finish the series. I do find her interweaving of the stories different and entertaining albeit feeling like I'm reading the wrong story since .much time is taken setting up the next book. Her zingers to get you to the next book are my favorite part. I keep wondering what shocking revelation will be revealed.

She Is It For Him

This is a well done read about a young man who has fallen in love with one of his very good friends sister. The problem with that is that the Duke knows how he is with the ladies because he used to be the same way. But he does have an ally besides the Duke's sister. He only has to wait a year to get his friend's approval and he's willing to do that. This is a fun entertaining read. Enjoy I did.
