Have you ever wondered how the sun and moon came to be? How time and memories work? Or even how the tides could have risen and swallowed an entire city? The world is full of wonderful stories, legends and myths that explain the unexplainable… and attempt to prove the impossible truth.
Chasing Sunsets: Love & Wonders Anthology is a collection of stories about the power of love, and the beauty and awe it bestows upon the eyes of many. Each story was woven in a progressing timeline, taking readers on a journey of romances from the ancient times of gods and goddesses to the complicated contemporary era of today. A fairy tale selection with a twist, Kaye Allen’s debut collection is reminiscent as it is new, and will tug at a reader’s heartstrings no matter how young or old.

First of all congrats on the debut Kaye!!! Ive been reading her work online and it is so exciting to know she finally releasing a book!!
The love and wonders anthology, I love all the stories in the book! Amazing works! I really love chasing sunset, on shallow tides and also Saudade (which reminds me of 'The next together')
Chasing sunset really is a worth story for book tittle. A love story of a Sun and a Moon how can we possibly imagined it. It is the combinations of science of how stars and eclipse occurred which being interpreted as love story and it is just amazing theory.
On shallow tides, the story did tears me up, cant believe it. Merman and human i loved it! I will never be "fall out of love".
Saudade! I wish it could be longer cant get enough of it! The cycle of life which love bring james and addie back again together because of their strong connections from the past lives. i always love this kind of story plots. Is dejavu really an actually repetitions of something you hve done in another life before? Im wondering:)
"But if you really do love someone, even though they don't feel the same way, at least not right now...you know what we do?" "We love them more." -Wise words!!
Cute and charming, but it was okay overall. It's nice to read a book by a Filipino author though. A respectable debut work, no doubt. Impeccable grammar and decent prose as well. Actual rating: 2.7 stars.
I read this yesterday, and I couldn't count the number of times I giggled and swooned over this book. The last story, "Saudade," was pretty interesting and poignant, but the concept was already used by others. (Not that I have a problem with it.) It was great, nevertheless, to the extent that the first thing I thought of was this book when I woke up.
The descriptions were dazzling, vivid, and enough for the readers to picture out.
Though the characters were supernatural beings, I couldn't help but feel that each character lacks depth. And what's all this constant 'I love you's almost scaattered for every five pages throughout the whole book?
I get it, all of them are sweet of each other, but seriously, "love at first sight"? The reader may haven't directly stated that, but what most of each plot has in common is enough to bring the impression. Not to mention their excessive sweet words toward each other and love-making. Yeah, they're sweet, but too much makes it dull, at least for me—it significantly slows the plot and makes it seems too forced. The author doesn't have to get in too much detail when two characters express their love to each other. Though I don't really see a problem with that, it's the pace of the plot that will be affected, somehow.
The first story was something I already know, or read, or heard of, but the author, adding more flavor into it, made the story more worthwhile for me to read! It's definitely something I won't forget.
Other issues with this book concerns with punctuation and one typographical error I noticed, but really, that's not something to worry about.
This book was a quick read. It only took me around 3 hours (with breaks in between) to finish the book. I really loved it. As someone who’s trying to get back into reading, this is the perfect book to start with — it’s not too short nor too long. My favourite story was the one with Sun & Moon. It’s very mystical and it reminds me of Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion of Sailor Moon. I decided to check it out after Kaye Allen did a talk at my school (and did a little promotion). Luckily, the book isn’t too expensive. I think it’s a solid book debut, and I’m looking forward to reading Falling, Falling!
Have you ever read a book where it felt so painful but also full of hope? It's that book for me. I love every story in this anthology. It is an extraordinary reflection of how love feels in different aspects. This book is painful, but it's so magical and hopeful at the same time. I highly recommend this book if you're looking for a realistic and magical book to read during the love month!
Really liked the stories in it and the author's choice of word! Creative way of writing and very fun and easy to read. One more thing that I noticed was how most of the stories ended, it's as if it's up to us how we'll imagine what's going to happen next. I really like this author < 3
My mother gifted this to me when I was a kid. I was 12 years old back then. I would reread this in the future if there's a chance. I can't really remember the details of this book but I really loved it back then and there are some lines being thrown that are really beautifully written.
This book made me felt kilig, inspired, and happy tonight! The author crafted her words so well that I can't put the book down. Every stories on this book pierced my heart and it made me experienced the feeling of being inlove. ❤️
