I love the way Joseph Prince explains Gods love for us and the sacrifice that Jesus made for us on the cross. The amount of love that I feel reading this book is indescribable. I'm so glad to have read this book and would like to retread it again or read a chapter every once in a while.

It's a great book that focuses all about Jesus, not about a list of dos and don'ts. I was very encouraged, I got teary towards the end of the book when Prince started talking about the Father's love. I realized that I need to fix my eyes on Jesus, not on myself, not on the approval of others, but just on Jesus!

"Wrong beliefs and thoughts will keep you defeated. Right beliefs and thoughts will launch you toward your breakthrough." (Joseph Prince, The Power of Right Believing, Page 100)

This is now the third book I have studied by Joseph Prince. I have also read Destined to Reign and Unmerited Favor: Depending on Jesus for every success in your life. Both excellent books that focus on the grace of God and the finished work of Jesus Christ. This book is no different, the emphasis is the same.

It is not about your works. It is about His grace. It is about His finished work on the cross. It is because of the cross, you are a child of God, you are free from sin, sickness, disease, death, poverty, lack, addictions...It is by the blood of Christ and His blood alone. Nothing you can do, can earn you this grace. It was paid at a high price, the price of God's only begotten Son.

The author explains that when some hear the grace message being preached, they object that if grace is preached, then people will go on a sinning spree! But the opposite actually happens. Once you know of God's love and grace, you become righteousness conscious, instead of sin conscious. Right believing leads to right living. Right believing rids us of condemnation. Jesus says, "I didn't come to condemn you, I came to save you." He said to the adulterous woman, "neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more."

The author states that "Grace is, after all, not a teaching; it is a Person" (p. 142) That Person is Jesus Christ. When we are absorbed with Jesus Christ, the author says, "sin, addictions, bad habits, fear, guilt, anxiety, depression, and condemnation will drop off from your life." (p. 145)

Accept the finished work of Jesus Christ and stop depending on your own works and be free in Jesus Name.

I can see the Lord using this book to set many captives free from wrong believing. There is mighty power in believing rightly about Christ and His finished work. Too much of today's preaching encourages destructive self-obsession; this book encourages Christ-obsession. If you are obsessed with obedience in your Christian walk, you are more than likely going to fail. But if Christ is your obsession, one of the fruits in your life will be obedience. Christ is the only person capable of living a successful Christian life; we must yield to Him and let Him live through us.

Philipians 3:3 came to mind as I read this excellent book. In this verse, Paul says that we rejoice in Christ Jesus and have no confidence in the flesh.

This is such a critical verse of scripture that I recommend all to commit it to memory and meditate on it often. In the strength of your flesh, you CANNOT please God, so quit trying. Christ is ready, able, and willing to live through you; get out of the way, and let Him do it!

This book is a good primer for cultivating the type of mind-set needed to move one's self out of the way so that the Lord can be Lord in your life.

I've read a whole bunch of christian books. Some of them knowing that up to then I probably disagree with the author - because I like getting a new point of view now and then and discussing the ranges of christianity. Since I really liked Joseph Prince's preaching at Hillsong Conference Europe, I thought I'd get some more input from him. When I researched a bit about his income I began to understand why he talks about grace so easily ;-) I was taken aback by the titles of his books (sounded like first-class brainwash) and this feeling got even stronger when I read it. Prince seems to be way too much in love with himself and the testimonies look to me like kind of a commercial break, since all the breakthroughs, promotions, healings, saved marriages etc. begin with somebody reading a book by Joseph Prince, listening to a Podcast by Joseph Prince or attending a Conference with Joseph Prince (oh, and by the way, I think they mentioned they accepted Jesus, too…). I do not regret reading this book – but for me, it was more of an interesting insight to the teaching of what they call prosperity gospel than what I actually believe.

Unfortunately so many people have taken Joseph Prince teaching far out of context. I truly believe that anyone reading or listening to him with an open heart will see the truth in his teachings. His critics say he promotes sin, teaches a prosperity message and is egotistical. And yet throughout all of the pages, he points through scripture in Old and New Testament all about Jesus. He specifically addresses his position on sin, that it is not at all okay but that believing in Jesus' love for us and focusing on it will melt away our temptation to sin. He even says that he doesn't believe in or agree with the prosperity message. That's what I love about his teaching, that if you will actually make it through the first chapter and read the words written, then he address every critic openly and in love.
Plus his revelations in this book are fresh and heart opening in the love of our Savior. I might just start it again from page one tomorrow.

There is nothing unsound here, on the contrary very helpful and freeing. On the other hand left slightly uncomfortable that all the testimonies point back to Joseph Prince's ministry resources rather than the power of God at work in their lives

Not a bad book, it is easy to read and understand especially if you feel like you are at a loss and need some upliftment. His promotion of his own ministry and tapes throughout the book is a bit unsettling so it is not an author whose books I will start collecting.

“Freedom from lack, from fear, from addictions, from the torment of guilt, and from every curse and every sin” (332).

Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? Who among us doesn’t wrestle with at least one of these categories? Who isn’t looking for relief, help, a way out?

Well, if you know Jesus as your Savior, you have a right to such freedoms. So how do we appropriate what Jesus provided for us in His death and Resurrection? How do we live free from that long list above? It all starts with your mind, with what you believe. And this book will help you zero in on your wrong thinking and help you begin thinking correctly. Once you start thinking correctly, you’re on your way to…right-believing! As Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind….,” or Proverbs 23:7, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” Change your thoughts to change what you believe and change your world.

So what is it Joseph Prince says we need to start believing in our minds and hearts?

Papa God LOVES you!

Oh, sure. We all KNOW God loves us, but do we BELIEVE it? When you mess up, sin, or otherwise make some sort of booboo on your walk with Christ, do you believe in that love enough to know that what you did wasn’t bad enough to stop His love for you—even just a little—or do you believe that whatever you did has cancelled out His love for you, and now you’re in trouble with God and have to jump through hoops to get His love again and be right before Him? If you chose “A,” you have right-believing already. If you chose “B,” you NEED to read this book.

Seriously, if you’re in either group, read this book. It’s so good, I wept through much of it—tears of discovery, tears of forgiveness, tears of joy, tears of right-believing.

The following is a truncated version of my testimony, which gives a glimpse into why I needed to read this book and get into right-believing.

When I was young, I used to hear stories about how people would come to Christ and, as they described it, would leave the house to find the sky was bluer, the grass greener. I was, it turns out, a very literal child (as evidenced by my interpretation of my grandpa’s advice: I was 2 or 3 and trying to put my shoe on. I was having trouble, and he, watching me struggle, said, “Alicia, you need to put the tongue out,” so I did—MY tongue! It sent Grandpa into paroxysms of laughter as I continued to struggle with my shoe BUT had MY tongue out!) and, after having asked Jesus into my life at seven, found the grass just as green as ever, the sky the same hue of blue, so I, literal child that I was, thought that meant Jesus didn’t come into my life. Oh, boy. How the devil used this to mess me up for WAY too long. Around 13, I finally, after years of trying to be good enough for God to want me and finding, each time I said the Salvation prayer, that, unlike those others’ testimonies about being instantly delivered from whatever sin-hold they had, I continued on messing up, sinning—unable to attain perfection, and I came to the conclusion that God didn’t want me, that I must’ve been the ONE person God couldn’t or wouldn’t save, and so I said to Him, “Well, if You don’t want me, then I’m gonna stop trying to be good and have fun on my way to Hell”—and so started my life of rebellion.

But God.

Over the next 12 years, no matter how angry I was at God, deep down, that God-shaped void in my life continued to cry out for Papa, PLEASE, to love me. How I wanted a Father. How I wanted HIM! So God came through for His confused daughter (and I was His daughter because I HAD asked Him into my life, even though I’d rebelled)! First, He sent me to Dr. June Hunt. Through her, I learned that all those “bluer-skies, greener-grass” stories didn’t happen for everyone, that, for most people (including her), you just have to ask and know, by faith, that you’re saved, which was a concept completely at odds with what I’d come to believe, so I was eager to rededicate my life at 21. But I kept on sinning, though I TRIED to be good, believing that God was ready to unleash the thunderbolts at me for being a screw-up. At 25, I wanted—NEEDED an answer: How could I be saved and still basically be the same, though I desired change? Enter Joyce Meyer, whom God sent my way to tell me her story, that she’d been a Christian for 20 years without changing a thing, though she was saved. God showed her Romans 12:2, and, through Joyce, He’d shown me. It and the day I learned not everyone experienced some cosmic change when he accepted Christ were the most amazing moments in my Christian life. To KNOW I was saved and that I had to renew my mind if I wanted to see things change, were life-changing for me.

And then came this book, which God had sent to me out of nowhere (thank You, Papa). It provided another AHA! moment for me and continued my education on just Who God really is. This book is all about Grace. God’s Grace. Sweet and amazing Grace. I’d heard Creflo Dollar preach about it, but, though I recognized it was something I needed to understand, I just couldn’t seem to wrap my mind around Creflo’s teaching. (And that’s no disparagement to him. I love Creflo and usually get plenty out of his lessons—but, for whatever reason, his Grace message just wasn’t clicking for me.) And I asked God for help. In His timing, He sent me Joseph Prince’s book (and Creflo Dollar was the first person I’d heard say how amazing Joseph Prince and his message of the Gospel of Grace was—so see? Creflo came through for me with God’s help ). It’s written so well (he’s an excellent story-teller) and is so thorough! As I read, I’d ask a question, wanting clarification or an example, and, as I kept reading, Pastor Prince would answer my question in the exact manner (by the Word, story, or drawing) I needed it.

It’s a long book, but it is SO worth the time. Please, I beg you—read it! You’ll see God in a new light. He’s a loving, good, sweet, caring, WONDERFUL Papa—not a cruel, harsh, hard, exacting God. All your flaws, sins, mistakes—whatever you know isn’t quite “there” yet—is covered by Jesus. When you were saved, Jesus came to live in you, and YOU live in Jesus. When God sees you, He doesn’t see a flawed and sinful John or Jane Doe; He sees Jesus. Oh, please read this book. There’s too much in it for me to do it justice. It’s one of those books you need to read, say, twice a year to glean all the nuggets of wisdom and knowledge within. The Holy Spirit will KEEP opening up to you the truths you’ll find inside. Plus, you need to keep reading it so you can get it down inside you and give it a chance to help you change your thinking and get you to start believing correctly. You’ll see. You’ll fall in love with your Abba Papa.

Oh, I forgot to mention Pastor Prince includes testimonies from people who, just as you, suffered
from some sort of addiction or overpowering sin and broke free, thanks to God’s Grace. (I capitalize Grace, by the way, because Grace is a Person; Grace is Jesus, as it says in John 1:17—as you’ll learn all about inside.) Pastor Prince even gives his own testimonials, too—one of which surprised me to read I had experienced, too! Which means God sent me the book because I wanted to understand Grace AND because I’d prayed for help to understand this thing happening to me.

To wrap it up, I’ll leave you with some final thoughts/words from Pastor Prince (pages 332-333):

“Did you know that the enemy has no hold over people who know their Father loves them? If Adam and Eve had believed in God’s love for them, the devil would not have been successful in tempting them. Unfortunately, they chose to believe the lie that the serpent had planted by portraying God as stingy and selfish, as if He [were] withholding something good for them.

“That’s why I want you to be anchored in the Father’s love. You will be unshakable. You will have no desire to touch certain things, go to certain places, or be associated with certain people. You will keep away from negative influences because you trust your Father’s heart for you and believe that He only wants what’s best for you. You rest, knowing that He is watching out for you to protect you and insulate you from harm.

“I’ve seen that children who are secure in their father’s love are able to say no to all kinds of temptations. This is because that vacuum in their lives is already filled. They don’t have to do things to win the approval of their friends when they can find absolute (332) security, identity, and approval in their parents’ love for them and, most of all, in their [H]eavenly Father’s love for them.

“In the same way, when we trust in our Father’s love for us, we will have the power to say no to temptations. When you have an abiding revelation of just how valuable, precious, and righteous you are in Christ, it becomes increasingly easy to say no to sin.

“Let me illustrate this. If you are wearing a nicely pressed white shirt, would you want to play in the mud? Of course not! Why? Because you are conscious that your dazzling white outfit and mud don’t go together. Similarly, when you are cognizant of your righteous identity in Christ, would you want to wallow in the mud and filth of sin? The truth is, the more righteousness-conscious you are and the more conscious of how valuable and precious you are in Christ, the more you will know that your righteous identity in Christ and sin don’t go together—and the more you will experience the power to say no to temptation” (333).

Loved this book. Because I'd slowly been hearing about the power of grace, I wanted to finally see it in writing and understand/test its theory (it's easier for me to study things when I can read them). This book provided that "test" avenue I was looking for, as Prince slowly spelled out the theology that supports grace and what "believing" really means; that it's not about "believe more, you dumb sinner," but "figure out what you believe b/c it's already impacting your life." Good flow to the chapters and a book you will highlight a little too emphatically. Plan on rereading.

An acquaintance gave me this book. I found it very repetitive and a pollyanna look at Christianity along with a bit of the prosperity Gospel thrown in. I one thing I got out of this was Jesus loves me no matter what.

Some things I liked:

- The idea that God's love is like a free gift. You can accept the knowledge that you are loved, or not. So why not take the free gift, and all the peace of mind and love that comes with it? A friend of mine was telling me about that, and then she gave me this book. It's so healing. It's helped me a bit with my emotional addictions and fears.

- The context behind, "let he who is without sin cast the first stone." I'd missed that story as a child. Basically, a woman committed adultery, and then a crowd of people was prepared to stone her to death. She was terrified. She'd seen another woman stoned to death for the same thing. Instead, they threw her at Jesus' feet, demanding to know what he would do. Eventually, he calmly looked up and said, "he that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone." They dropped their rocks. The crowd dispersed. He looked at her with love and acceptance. He said, "woman, where are those accusers of yours?" It's indisputable that Jesus was an inspiring figure during his lifetime. I want to keep reading more about him and a few other inspiring prophets. I'm interested in the similarities between Christianity and Hinduism.

- The idea that God isn't angry and demanding perfection before someone can be loved. Nobody is perfect. There are powerful lessons in here about love, whether someone is religious or not. I know I was raised with confusing messages in Catholic school about love and sin. I can see the reason in the messages here, and I can see how they're psychologically beneficial. I didn't realize I had so many pernicious mental blocks around wanting to be perfect.

-
"I've seen that children who are secure in their father's love are able to say no to all kinds of temptations. This is because that vacuum in their lives is already filled. They don't have to do things to win the approval of their friends when they can find absolute security, identity, and approval in their parents' love for them and, most of all, in their heavenly Father's love for them.

In the same way, when we trust in our Father's love for us, we will have the power to say no to temptations. When you have an abiding revelation of just how valuable, precious, and righteous you are in Christ, it becomes increasingly easy to say no to sin.

Let me illustrate this. If you are wearing a nicely pressed white shirt, would you want to play in the mud? Of course not! Why? Because you are conscious that your dazzling white outfit and mud don't go together. Similarly, when you are cognizant of your righteous identity in Christ, would you want to wallow in the mud and filth of sin? The truth is, the more conscious of how valuable and precious you are in Christ, the more you will know that your righteous identity in Christ and sin don't go together - and the more you will experience the power to say no to temptation."

- There was also a story about a man that spent all his father's money on sin. He left home and came back destitute. His father pulled out all the stops in celebrating his return. The older brother felt jealous and slighted. The point of the story is that love is unconditional, and we shouldn't have to work for forgiveness in God's eyes. And we should also be able to forgive unconditionally.

There were parts that I couldn't relate to, but I enjoyed reading this and still got a lot out of it. The messages about love and forgiveness are very healthy and healing, regardless of a person's religious status. I wish I'd known some of these things earlier. I'm looking forward to reading even more spiritual texts. Thank you, Joseph Prince!

This book has become one of my top shelf favorites. Joseph Prince has a grace gift from God to teach the love and grace of God to us. The number one take away from this book for me is that understanding Gods love to me in Christ Jesus, first, is the key to true freedom as a Christian. When you understand how much God loves you it sets you free from all condemnation and guilt and brings out an organic love for others. I have this in paperback and audiobook. I have listened to it many times and continue to listen as I go about my daily life. It's had a positive impact on how I see God and how I see myself. As you'll learn when you read this book, what you believe is powerful!! I highly recommended this book for anyone and everyone in all walks of life!

This is a powerful book with principles that really work. A friend gave it to me when I was going through a hard time. It built up my faith so much that the next time I started to get sick with a sore throat I was able to discern the cause immediately – false accusation – and fight against it. I got better within an hour. The Power of Right Believing is like a handbook for right living, worth reading over and over again. Each time you glean something new from it. I highly recommend it to anyone who may be battling depression, sickness, worry, or any other type of distress. It is great medicine.

Thank you Abba

This book has literally opened my eyes, made my heart feel like bursting open with love and hope, security and faith in my father whom while reading this, I had an overwhelming urge to pray and ask Him for a personal name to call him to make me truly feel as it I was talking to my father, ..... I kept reading and came to the part about Abba Father and I almost yelled out, I jumped up and ran to the living room and had to show and tell my husband. He answered me just like that , I had no idea it was in the next few pages. I am greatly loved and highly favored by my Abba!!!! Thank you Jesus .

Another uplifting read.

I have read Destined to Reign along with the daily devotional book. Again, this book is a must read to fully understand God's Grace. Growing up in a fire and brimstone teaching church I never learned of the depth of God's grace until I started watching
programs and reading books by Joseph Prince. I hope to add all his books to my library. FYI I am not of the same religion as Joseph Prince but I am of the same Faith!

first you have to hear the right things, about Jesus and God's love for you, then you believe right and then your behavior will change to conform to God's will. God's grace leads you to repentance and then a relationship with Him as a precious, beloved child of God. He says to remind yourself that you are highly favored, greatly blessed, and deeply loved by God.
