Day by day the family will learn that the BEST PRACTICE to finding balance is learning along the way.
It’s been about a year and a half since I read #4 and I thought I might have to read it again to remember what had happened previously. But not to worry, Armstrong does a good job reminding the reader what had happened and in between the two books. She does a good job weaving it in the story without it sounding like “In the previous episode...”
I enjoyed this episode. It’s the only Armstrong series I’m following. I gave up on the Design one and I never started the Hollywood one. In this book I laughed and I cried as the family and the couple navigates a house full of kids and Tess deals with her Mom. I loved how we learn about each of the kids individual personalities as they grow up. I’m looking forward to the next installment.
I've missed this series. It's been quite a while since Armstrong added to it. Now I can't wait for the next one.
This is another soap opera as I like to call them. You get immersed into their lives. You live their journeys. But most of all you experience everything with them. Even the hard parts. Many won't like them. Too short. Or whatever. But I love them because you don't have to think. Grab yourself your favourite drink, wrap up warm and just enjoy. I did. Relax and enjoy but read them in order.
There is something about J.A. Armstrong books and series that I just love. Maybe it's the happy almost perfect couples...maybe the cute insightful kids...maybe it's the light drama and heavy romance and love. Whatever it is, it always has me wanting and waiting for the next one. That being said I can't get enough of Brooke and Tess and their families. Fans of the series will enjoy it!
Well, finished the lot - and wow! Cried, laughed and cheered as I went through them. She certainly writes a good tale and it shows you don't need bucket loads of twists and amazing co-incidences - just class, sure writing. Love it, thank you JA.
The start of the book is a nice but fairly inconsequential story, however about a quarter of the way through the book the nature of the story changed when Tess received some bad news. The rest of the book is an emotional roller coaster. The books are about cozy family relationships with cute kids and near perfect couples, but they are fun to read and have the added virtue of making me feel happier than when I started the book.
Sweet, and romantic is the story of Tess and Brooke. I had a follow the by path of their relationship and I love the way they support and take care of each other. How their love survive inside the chaos of life. They always find peace in the turbulence, holding their family together.
My enjoyment of this novella series continues. This is the fifth book and the twins are now 11. Baby Ethan is a creeping, happy seven month old. The family life is pretty solid but news of Tess's mom throws in unexpected stress.
J.A.Armstrong is one of the best writers in this genre. Her books always give you a warm feeling and this installment gives you exactly that and more. It is full of love, passion, deep connections, humor and excellent dialogues. The characters feel like family and I'm always happy when I get a few hours with them. The twins makes you laugh and they ar so adorable. In this one, Davey just makes my heart smile with his protectiveness. As always, the writing is sublime and I loved every minute of it.
I thought I would never recover from the By Design series which was many many books but could not stop reading. Now I found this next series Special Delivery and again I find myself pulled in and enjoying Brooke and Tess and company. The love for each other and their families is what keeps this series going on. However the next installment is supposed to be called Making Rounds but I do not see it. Was looking forward to it. This last book was written in 2015 so not sure what happened......
Another beautifully written addition to the Special Delivery Series. I have loved following Tess and Brooke's story from the beginning, even though I've read them a while ago, it easy to pick up from where book four in the series left us.
J.A. Armstrong yet again let's us into the lives of Tess and Brooke, alongside their kids Davey, Dani, and Ethan. We get to explore Tess's worry's, heartache, pain, and most inner thoughts surrounding her relationship with her mother, her love for her family, and the looming anniversary of her brother's death.
Throughout all the up's and down's, Armstrong proves over and over again that love is a great healer; and sometimes is the only solution. Special Delivery is one of my favourite book series, can't wait until Making Rounds.
This story was a infuriating to me at times, I mean I was happy to see how far they came as a family and all the children's and couple's changes, but the rest got under my skin.
Awful situation for Tess, heartbreaking to be honest. I'm glad Brooke and everyone else is there for her. It takes a village and we all see that. Even the kids stepped up a lot. I didn't want to throttle neither of them at all lol and they were the sweetest to be fair.
But Mary's insufferable and because of that I felt no sympathy. I know it's harsh but Chris is a spineless man and honestly Tess would be much better going not contact with them. 90% of the time she gets hurt when with them and even it being Mary's fault, if her father can't stand for his daughter then he's just like her. And no kid needs to grow up with all this bad vibe going on.
This has to be one of the best stories I have read in a while that just wrapped me in a warm blanket of love.
JA Armstrong has written a delightful story that covers so much ground in family life that seems so real. The harshness of a loss of a child and its lasting effects on those left behind, the love of children and their growing up, and the honest love of two women who are raising those children even adding in the life of a practicing physician into the mix. I am so impressed. The imaginary brings reality into play, the characters are beautifully developed and each distinct. Yes, I do indeed recommend this book! I hope you support the author and buy the book and enjoy it as much as I have.
I absolutely love reading this series! I must have reread it at least 50 million times it seems. The only thing missing is the next book in the set. I'm hoping that it won't be much longer for it to make it's appearance. The connection and solidarity between Tess and Brooke is as tangible as I'm sure most people would want and hope their lives could be. Each and every character plays a vital role in leading the reader into a world of possiblity. These books are full of life, love, laughter and there is also pain and heartbreak. They are full of lessons all one has to do is take the time and listen.
This is the well written fifth installment in the story of Brooke and Tess. These amazingly well developed characters have faced numerous trials and tribulations in their journey over the course of these books. Raising twins and a new baby, professional upheaval, miscommunication, personal insecurities, and startling revelations are just a few of the things they've faced. Will they find a way to balance everything? The storyline flows from the pages and right into your heart, making this a must read. This is part 5 of the story of Brooke and Tess.
I really don't feel Mary. Like come on. I do understand her but also not. The children are 11 years and an almost 1 year old baby, by this time, she should just support her daughter and leave them be.
But this is a family series so we have to be all in one boat. I loved how David just told his Grams and Mom that he needs to his mom. I am glad for this improvement because in the previous book, I wanted to throttle him so bad.
Parents sometimes forget that the things they say around children could have a lifetime of either remorse or joy depending on what is said. As the author brought up in her story her character children were very observant in what was said and not said and how they saw fit to help the injured person in their own way. Enjoy!
This has been the most angst/drama filled book of the series, not a lot, but more than the rest.
Family news change the dinamic of the Campbell-Sinclair family and wow, I loved the twins in this one. Baby Ethan is just adorable and I'm so glad Tess was able to let go and move on from her grief.
Brooke delivery is long and exhausting but a healthy child is the result. Tess’s parents are scheduled to visit but health issues for her Mom cause a cancellation. It’s leads to stress for the whole family but they are drawn together as they deal as a unit. Great series.
I never get tired of reading about Brooke and Tess and their family life and J. A. Armstrong has done it again! She has drawn me into their lives so completely I just can't get enough. I can't wait to read the next installment.
Remembering what is most important in any relationship or marriage.......Love! Thank you! The books enriched my heart. Time to stop and take a breath every now and then!
This is the Fifth book I read about these interesting women, but I am starting to feel tired of reading a Hetero book. I think I have to take a break from this series for a few weeks.Off to my next adventure.
Honestly, this is a lovely story and one that makes you think of so many aspects of life. Losing someone is never easy and it's that much more devastating, when those left behind stop living. I felt a small glimpse in Mary
I can't wait for the next addition to this growing family :-)
I love all the characters in these books. I love how the twins will stick up for their moms anytime people talk bad about them or make them cry. I think it is great that they want to have another baby.
