Need to write this because I am really sleepy. This issue passed with flying colors, great job honestly with the way they setup this justice league story. Cyborg says they are using him against his team, does he mean just information, or something more? Also looks like the green lantern might end up to be the one who breaks the cycle. Next issue is Batman Lost, it sounds super interesting, that's it for me for tonight for real this time.
Bats Out of Hell is a four-issue DC Metal tie-in that is about the League versus these evil Batmen. Justice League 32 is the second part of the series and an improvement over the first issue.
This issue is very effective in presenting a bleak and an almost inevitable demise of our heroes as they fight their evil Batman counterparts one-on-one. The stakes are really high here as Venditti tells a story where our superheroes are cornered to a seemingly losing and hopeless side. The good thing about this DC Metal event is that given the circumstance, I still don't know how our good guys would be able to overcome the bad and the dark. Thus there is a genuine feel of interest that makes me want to read more.
Oh yeah, I dug the Mad Max-esque evil Flash arena.
My favorite crossover issue so far. This was a really good issue with lots of great action, and contained really good Cyborg moments. The Dark Nights Metal tie-ins have been really great and entertaining.
I loved the location where the Flash battles Red Death. The super-dome looks breathtaking. Other visuals were able to astonish me. Like the gong that releases the ghosts of Themyscira, a vicious sea-monster who was once Mera, and the disected Cyborg. The sequence of our heroes' downfall looks disheartening. And Cyborg's narration does so little to raise hope.
Absolutely more interesting than the first part of Bats Out of Hell, but still only middle of the road in regards to entertainment. I liked it well enough, but I won't come back to this well to drink again.
Deeper and deeper we go into this Dark Metal madness. Love the art and this crazy storyline. Will this all be a dream sequence? How can the world and DC's heroes recover from all this?
This is a 4.5 for me, but I still loved it. I loved seeing all the evil Bats taking advantage of everyone's weaknesses. I am so excited to continue on!
