What Justice League #33 did best was not to become one of the best tie-in issues of DC Metal, but to give Cyborg a much-needed proper story. This issue alone single-handedly secured his rightful place as a member of the Justice League. Man I loved reading Cyborg so much in this issue.

Ethan Van Sciver's connecting covers for the Bats out of Hell tie-in issues.

This is a straight-up Naruto story with Victor Stone, strong as he is now becomes even more formidable from the powers inside him. JL#33 may have cheesy lines, but I consider all of them sincere and adds a great deal of emotion to Cyborg.

The evil Batmen on the other hand are pushed a bit on the side for a bit, but that naturally happens when you want to get some meat and heart from the protagonists.

Overall, I enjoyed the Bats out of Hell tie-ins. They are more fun than necessary (but certainly way better than Gotham Resistance issues) that is really worth your time.

Dark Nights Metal is really turning out to be something grand in scale, and creative but that’s honestly because of these phenomenal tie-ins, the main Dark Nights Metal issues have been ok, but the tie ins are surprisingly what makes the series worth the read which is really unusual for a DC crossover event. This is a great read for preparing for the upcoming Justice League movie as well! I’m seeing it on Saturday. I really hope the last 3 issues of DNM are better than the first 3 because the story could end up being the best DC crossover event in history if Snyder can pull it off, but even if he doesn’t, it’s still a worthwhile read.

A little ray of hope for the Justice League in this Dark Metal tie-in? Cyborg steals the show this issue and amps up his powers big time. Finally back to the actual Dark Metal issues (next one Dark Metal #4). Looking forward to how this all turns out.

And interesting use of Cyborg. Glad he’s actually important for once. Still miss Martian Manhunter though.

The finale gets this spinoff tie-in series back on track. Things are looking grim and the moment for a climactic showdown seems to have been lost, but the team manages to scrap some fight together in a way that doesn't feel cheap, even if it is a bit of a deus ex machina.

The only disappointing (or clever?) element is that most of the characters end up back where they were at the start of this 4-issue run, so if you skipped it you'd essentially end up in the same place sans one particular character undergoing a big change. That makes this series reader-friendly, but does it make it worth reading?

I'd give that a definite "yes", as there are some really cool ideas it temporarily introduces to play with (nightmare batcaves? Sign me up!), and the overall confrontations between the league and their respective nightmare Batmen counterparts has some fun moments.

I swear I still don't know who the fuck is Mr. terrific and Dr fate.
The one who breaks the cycle ends up being Cyborg! That's a really nice coincidence, because he is the one character I have been fascinated about since the start of the event, I mean I did watch Justice league movie and he was in it, but I don't remember shit lol
The entire justice league are free now, but the Batman who laughs is saying, they are spreading the darkness of Barbatos through out the universe.
Things are better, but not much better, I wonder if they will win!

Cyborg finally does something more than get dismantled and watch things happen...

That's something, I guess.

I'm giving it 3 instead of 2, though. And that's because I think the idea is that from now on Cyborg is going to have a new role to play moving forward. And I dig it.

Really good! It was interesting to see a Justice League that focus on Cyborg, which is not one of the main characters of the League. Well done!

A strong conclusion to the Bats Out of Hell arc. Love seeing Cyborg embrace a coach role.

This was epic in the purest way possible. Whenever you think of something epic, that's what comes to mind when I think of this issue. Yet, I love how it is never a pure win, there is always something darker lurking underneath the surface. I loved how big of a role Cyborg played in this issue. I have always liked Cyborg's character, and have seen his potential to be an important leader on the team. I am beyond thrilled to continue the series.
