This was a fun little read about a young woman who's been overweight most of her life but after implementing lifestyle changes and self-discipline she begins to see her inner beauty as well as her outward appearance. When she is given the offer of a lifetime, she's forced to deal with her past and decide if she has the courage to move forward and go after what she wants. Plenty of humor drives this quick read as well as some sobering thoughts on society's opinion of women. I have to say I loved her best friend even better than the main character!

Christina is a character I can relate to. I've always struggled with weight and after losing it, still struggle with how I feel about my appearance. This fast tale had a light, playful feel to it. The pacing and plot was crisp, and engaging. The internal narrative was fun, and made it easy to like Christina. I was so thrilled when she was offered such a wonderful opportunity. Will she be ale to move past her self doubts and take it?

I read this in one sitting over a cuppa coffee and can easily recommend you take a break and do the same.

This is one of those stories that will resonate with so many people, me included.
Christina has made real progress losing weight, but it hasn't been easy. While the kilos/pounds have dropped off, her mind hasn't quite caught up with the 'new' her. So, when she gets invited to try out for a modelling role with Goddess Creator Fashions, she is both delighted (amazed, stunned, mystified) and immediately self-doubting. This is what makes her so believable, well that and her down-to-earth honesty. Christina has all the "I'm not worthy", "it must be a joke" thoughts that anyone in her position might have. Thankfully, she has her mom and her BFF around and these interactions are wonderfully funny and natural... and effective!
There's a lot of humour in this story, Christina doesn't take herself too seriously. At the same time, the humour hides a lot of her neuroses, especially in public. But, it is her fundamental desire to be successful and happy that drives her on. As her confidence grows, she blossoms. There is no 'new' version of Christina, merely a stronger, more confident one.
I'm so glad this is a series, because I can't wait for more of her shenanigans.

I enjoyed this story, and the mood was fairly light and upbeat. The character is likable, but this installment is very short and makes it hard to really get a grip on the character and to care where she will end up in the sequel.
Overall though, I do like the message this story sends about self-love and self-worth.

I enjoyed this quick read. It hits all the right buttons about the struggle we face on the journey of weight-loss. The feelings are real as are the reactions of people looking in. I look forward to part 2.
